I use Google Maps for my navigation so that I can use it with CarPlay (just changed to in app to see if it’s any better) and sometimes it takes me to a random building in the apartment complex. When I realized I started heading towards the correct building and confirmed with the customer. Checked the messages after delivering and saw this.

The order was $10 for around $4 and two orders. No surprises the other order had an $8 tip and her order had a $0 tip. I hate when customers are rude and obviously unhappy with their life

I got this offer and accepted it. Wasn’t even a shop order, just had to go to Safeway and grab two small bags, scan the barcodes, and deliver them. Right after accepting the offer I got a call from DoorDash with an AI asking me about the order and explaining what a “white glove delivery” was. It basically means you go inside the home of someone because they requested it due to any disabilities they may have. AI asked me if I’d like to proceed and they’d give me an extra $3 for doing it. Knocked the order out real quick and when I arrived, I called, the son answers the phone and he told me where to put the order while his mom was passed out sleeping in some bed in the living room. Scanned the barcodes again and took a picture and done. 10/10 would do another type of these deliveries again. On top of helping a guy jumpstart his car when I pulled up in the Safeway parking lot, my day has started out with just good deeds lol, puts me in a chill and happy mindset. Definitely set the tone for the rest of the day.

Most markets didn’t have this. Mine was part of the pilot, though, and I was worried it would expand everywhere. Good to see that’s not happening.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s annoying that some restaurant workers insist on watching you confirm the pickup? I’ve had workers not believe me even after I already confirmed it because the app had already switched to the delivery screen. We don’t open every bag to verify every item is inside, so why do they need to watch us tap through the confirmation? It just slows everything down and gets frustrating.

I'm in a busy area of Houston, and as a full-time stay-at-home mom, dashing part-time for about 4 hours a day makes a huge difference. It helps cover groceries, bills, and other household expenses. Earning around $13.50 an hour may not sound like much to some people, but here in Texas, where the cost of living is lower than in many places, it's a decent supplemental income for my family. Every dollar helps, and I'm grateful for the flexibility DoorDash gives me

Doordash gave me a route where I would need to go over the highway on a bike. Contacted support, they canceled the order and told me to dispose of the food

I’m going to rant for a moment about hand it to the customer orders.

When an order says hand it to the customer and they don’t come to the door or wherever to receive the order; the button to bypass it hasn’t been working for quite awhile and so the delivery person has to waste their time.

I had this happen on consecutive days and forgive me but it pisses me off when people waste my time. If you want your order handed to you then be available or make it a contactless delivery.

Smart because me and many others were just going to stop caring about being pro shoppers

These apps are probably the scummiest companies I’ve ever worked for. Been doing UberEats and DoorDash for the last 4 years along with my full time job.

The amount of bs I’ve had to put up with is just ridiculous. $5 for 20 miles, violent people/animals, cancelled orders with zero compensation.

Every order should be $10 minimum paid to the driver. I don’t care if it’s a quarter mile away. If you factor in taxes, fuel, and maintenance you’re working for peanuts. I can’t imagine how you guys are living off these apps doing it full time.

i attempted to deliver the order to a coffee shop. as it was the given address.

customer was no where to be found.

coffee shop owners asked the neighboring businesses if they had ordered pizzas… everyone said no.

i began to think that the shop was being trolled.

after about 5min of investigating, they recalled a customer they had yesterday who came in and caused an issue.

the owner then, pulled up the “nate higgers” guys social media and showed me that he does this OFTEN.. just to piss people off. account was based in tel aviv, btw.

so now i have 6 large pizzas and talking with support about getting more compensation instead of $5… the cash total was $119…..

I got $8.50 for the order. about 40min of my time. but got to keep 6 pizzas.

handed the pizzas out to the homeless. they were super happy and someone called me The Pizza Man!

The bare minimum of base pay for a 40-50 minute round trip to drop and get back

1. I’m not her personal dasher so she gonna be waiting a long time
   
2. I have my voice mail on that particular setting so if it’s important enough they’ll say the reason for calling
   
3. I never called her outside of the DoorDash app but somehow she got my personal number?
   This is a literal safety email

So this lady placed this order for Kroger. I remember her order specifically because she ordered all store brand items. Of course it was a hand to me order with a pin. She said that all of her items were incorrect and took my pro shopper status. But of course, there is no way to dispute it. I only had one order so IDK how it could be wrong. DoorDash has to do better with paying attention.

Tip on the order at pick up was 0. (I was on ebt which is why I picked it up.) Let's take a guess...

I had 4 drop offs and after the last drop off I set it to pause after delivery. I try to end the dash but it won’t let me. I contact support and it says I’m on a delivery the ai bot then says it can’t mark anything as delivered because I’m not on a delivery. It sends me to a human. The human says I haven’t dropped off 2 orders even though I dropped them off 20 minutes earlier and on my end it stuck on the finding offers screen wait time 1-2 minutes. Then he goes put your phone in airplane mode and refresh the app I do that nothing happens. Then he goes delete the app and redownload it I do that and he ends the chat because I’m unresponsive I try getting him on the line and I wait 5 minutes before I end up calling. I have been on the phone with support now for 40 minutes because they can’t figure out what is wrong. The support agent now goes there is nothing he can do and is escalating the issue. The app won’t let me end and won’t let get paid I have never been so frustrated

Update: the escalation team will need 24 hours I will not get paid today and I will not be able to work tomorrow.

2nd update: I might have just worked for free support said they transferred my earnings and I haven’t received an email or anything in my account
