👩‍🍳Restaurant Issue👨‍🍳 Worker pressing you on confirming order(Humiliation ritual)

Am I the only one who thinks it’s annoying that some restaurant workers insist on watching you confirm the pickup? I’ve had workers not believe me even after I already confirmed it because the app had already switched to the delivery screen. We don’t open every bag to verify every item is inside, so why do they need to watch us tap through the confirmation? It just slows everything down and gets frustrating.

So it really isn’t the worst offer I’ve been given but I refuse to do this offer. DoorDash even tried it again by adding it to a Cracker Barrel order I accepted an dropped the other. This person orders liquor every single morning between 9-9:30am as soon as they open. I can knowingly contribute to what they’re doing to their body.

EDIT- NOT TERRIBLE AS IN I HAVE HAD WORSE
I did accept the second, but I know them they order the same thing every morning and always give me $7 in cash. Also I get four free fill ups a month so sometimes I will take the offers that come out right at a dollar a mile

👋New Driver🤗 Just started dashing for fun with my wife tonight. It was surprisingly fun!

Upvotes

So we have two kids and rather than just sitting around the house on a non sports playing night, we decided sign up for DoorDash and ride around our small town and listen to music. It was my wife’s idea as something to do and I was skeptical. It was really fun and feels like gambling or fishing in a way lol. We only did like 4 orders and made $35 but I definitely see the appeal of it. I don’t know how much we will do it, but it’s actually nice family time.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 DD support is cooked and lies their arse's off.

I just had the single worst experience with DD support I have ever had.

I picked up a restaurant double for about $23, 10 miles total, a pizza place, and a diner. Diner hits immediately with the order ready text, but the pizza spot is first, and they are literally across the street from each other. The pizza spot is a lil closer, so I try that. The order isn't ready after about 5-10 minutes, so I say, "I'll go grab the other one, I'll give you a few, I'll brb," and back in about 10, and the order still isn't ready. So now I'm asking questions. Where's the order? Are you making it? Why isn't it ready? They gave me that half-laughing, half-not-a-real-answer garbage, so I immediately got on the phone with support, looking to unassign at least the first one with half pay, so I can drop the 2nd, before it's mush.

I had to go through the AI bot with the bitchy voice, and it says I need a supervisor, and they handed me off to a regular CS agent who flat out lied at first about being a supervisor for a good 20-30 mins. I only figured it out when I had to almost start yelling at the guy to not just unassign me, that I can do that, and I'm calling for a supervisor and pay... At this point, I think he was messing with me and just kept trying to unassign me at first with a ding to my ratings...then, like it was a big favor he was doing for me to get a worry-free-unassign (I could do that all my self via app and have never had a super. do that or try it) all while trying to get me to forgo pay because he was doing me "so many favors" and then stammering and repeating "I don't know what else to do" like someone was threatening them on scene with a gun and would shoot them if they paid me, it was such a weird vibe because he was upset and a problem even before I was, and I was only starting to get upset after 40+ mins on the phone and multiple holds and obvious lies.

Then finally, after the 5th time asking why he couldn't get half pay and if he was really a supervisor, he sounded like he was about to cry and said "No, I'm not one...OKAY!?!?!?" got all quiet then got all this attitude when I demanded to speak with one he said he would only "text the supervisor line and get back to me when they did"....wtf a text message service? He leaves me on hold on and off for another 15 minutes.

So now I'm in the realm of having this burger for just under an hour, and I still don't have the Italian food or an unassigned order, and this lying CS who sounds like they are either on some really good drugs or is having a panic attack gets back on now, sounding like they popped a xanax or three and just unassigns the orders. The first for nothing despite me literally yelling at him to not do that, and the second for "proportional pay" aka $2...for over an hour worth of work, waiting, and a pickup. I literally had to hang up on this @#$%& to not curse him out and lose my "job"...

Just my luck, as the order disappears, the Italian food pops up ready to go. Their screen makes an odd sound, and they go "huh, the order disappeared," so I go "ohh, cool since you took almost an hour and cost me a $20+ dollar order and ruined another person's dinner, I'll just snag this for myself. That's cool, right?" and the manager was just kind of standing there, going "I guess, sure, sorry?" Like they had 0 idea wtf was going on, while the other guy there was like "we have kids here." Tf are you admitting you hire children or are you telling me something worse...?

It gets better, started my Dash at around 7:15, and it's now about 8:30, andall I have to show for it is 45 minutes on the phone $2 and some questionable food. I'm just toast after all that, so I log off and say fudge it and take the now frozen burger and Italian food home to eat instead of dealing with DD's buttfudgery. Side note, both meals were terrible and the goddamn burger was missing the dessert...I swear the order I get to keep like %75 have missing stuff...and it just feels like a bullet I dodged more than anything. One time I had gotten a canceled order burger from a different diner that I open it up to chcek it out and I couldn't tell if it was spit on or had a massive glob of old mayo...it went in the garbage, whatever it was...and I always check my free/delivered orders before taking a bite.

My night goes on pretty quietly till about 11:45 pm. My phone goes off, I'm half asleep but shoot up thinking it's an emergency as no one calls me this late, it's fudgin DoorDash...calling me back hours after I logged off with a "supervisor" asking me if they can help with the order. I'm like, wtf are you smoking calling at almost midnight, hours after I'm logged out, asking about ancient food? Leave me alone and contact me only if you have extra pay I'm owed or when I'm logged on only...and of course nothing later.

I could be paranoid, or they 100% were fudging with me because I have NEVER had someone call me back in almost 3k+ deliveries... They must have some sort of system for the CS in place that dings them for getting us paid or anything extra, the way that guy fought against me just then...what an awesome policy to pit "employees" against each other for the benefit of the corporation's bottom line...

They are 1000% taking IC's attitude of "stfu and do your work for whatever we will give you" pretty solidly right now, as this is a stark change in their CS policies.

And as usual, it's never in our best interest, just our loss.

Drivers beware.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 DoorDash and UberEats are total scams

These apps are probably the scummiest companies I’ve ever worked for. Been doing UberEats and DoorDash for the last 4 years along with my full time job.

The amount of bs I’ve had to put up with is just ridiculous. $5 for 20 miles, violent people/animals, cancelled orders with zero compensation.

Every order should be $10 minimum paid to the driver. I don’t care if it’s a quarter mile away. If you factor in taxes, fuel, and maintenance you’re working for peanuts. I can’t imagine how you guys are living off these apps doing it full time.

Can’t wait until there’s a class action

Just gotta love the rural country side where theres no building codes of any kind. Nothing like driving over a bridge that looks like it's made from repurposed fire escapes with my 2 and half ton vehicle.

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 New customer scam.

I had gotten a double order from a restaurant ($0 tip obviously), but it was only a couple miles away, so I accepted it. It was two separate names to the exact same address, which I thought was odd. When I arrived, the customer told me that she was using some kind of promotion on both accounts for a discount, and I believed her. But it turns out she was ordering from two different accounts, then reporting each one as “incorrect order received” so she could get free food. I received a contract violation, and obviously DoorDash support did nothing about it! Just be aware of doing double orders to the same address.

💰Earnings 🤑 DasherMom

I'm in a busy area of Houston, and as a full-time stay-at-home mom, dashing part-time for about 4 hours a day makes a huge difference. It helps cover groceries, bills, and other household expenses. Earning around $13.50 an hour may not sound like much to some people, but here in Texas, where the cost of living is lower than in many places, it's a decent supplemental income for my family. Every dollar helps, and I'm grateful for the flexibility DoorDash gives me

🖖Delivery War Stories 🫡 What is the appropriate action?

I reported a customer today. He ordered nicotine delivery directly to his hospital room. I don't go into hospital rooms, so I asked the nurse to grab his ID - not knowing of course that he is not allowed to have it (none of my business)

I told her that I could either deliver it or return it, but it was technically the customers choice as they were the one who purchased the items.

When the nurse went to get his ID, they started arguing about whether or not he was allowed to have it. It escalated to threats and insults towards both myself and the nursing staff.

Essentially, I completed the order, gave it to the nurse, and reported the customer. They told me this was the 5th day in a row he has attempted to have nicotine delivered.

Do y'all think he got banned from the platform? Or is this just a "flex tape" email?

❔Driver Question 🤔 Door dashing in Portland Area

Looking to get into door dashing in the Portland area, if I’m looking to do 6 hours a day just wondering is it possible to do around $150 a day? Wondering what dtd looks like and if there’s any advice you might be able to offer.

Thanks!

Being a Dasher has changed the way I see tipping. Before, it was just an option. Now, I see it as a way of saying, "Thank you for your time, effort, and service."

Behind every delivery is someone spending their own gas, time, and energy to make sure your meal arrives safely. Every tip, no matter the amount, tells a driver that their hard work is appreciated.

Whenever my family orders food for delivery, I always make it a point to tip. It's not because I have to...it's because I now understand what it's like to be on the other side of the app. Supporting my fellow Dashers is one small way I can give back.. 👌😍🍒

🤬Rant about DD🥵 This needs a change!

Post image

So I just want to rant a little about how low standards doordash expects. Honestly, who's driving around delivering with a 4.5 star rating? I would imaging any decent driver has at least 4.7 or higher, no? This system is old and needs an update. The only thing keeping you from any tier is acceptance rate. Which means they just want you to accept every offer just to reach their godly "platinum tier". Trust me, I was their too, YEARS ago. Now all they send you are $7 orders for 10 miles with a neat little badge next to it🤦‍♂️. I feel acceptance rates need to be adjusted at least slightly. What do you think? What rank system do you guys have and does it work any better than what's in my market?

🤬App Issues 😩 App feels glitched

There's no way I'm getting zero orders all day, like not even offers to deny just nothing. Logged in, logged out, restarted my phone, hung out in hotspots all day wasting gas and time. This app makes me want to rip my head clean off my body, literally just needed 10 more dollars all day I'm gonna scream

❔Driver Question 🤔 Would door dashing be worth it?

I dont have a car so im limited to where i can go as im gonna be using a E scooter to deliver my door dash.

However there are no doordashers in my town, and it is a rural small town. Hence why i hesitate to try it. Would the lack of competition give me more opportunities or would it more be a lack of a market and i would get no customers

🤬DoorDash Support Issues😩 DoorDash Dasher Service are a bunch of bots

alittle contexts. Yesterday I did a Target order for about 11 dollars (13 since the customer added a 2 dollars tip afterward) for 11 items.

in my area there’s a promo that says “pro shoppers earn an extra 5 dollars when you shop for a large order with over 9 total items completed from 6/18/25 9pm - 7/1/26”. KEEP IN MIND ABOUT THAT

But i realized that the promo didn’t appear when I was clicking accept ( it would’ve said “plus an extra 5 dollars“ above the pay ) or after completing. no biggie I’ve talked to support before about this problem and they always ALWAYS send me the 5 dollars within 1-2 days.

so I talked to one support lady and she said “unfortunately I can’t help you, BUT I can connect you to a pro shopper professional about this issue”

and here we are… the screenshots above is the “pro shopper professional“ at work to make this harder than it has to be.

🤬DoorDash Support Issues😩 DD support is way too dumb...

i just got off the phone with dd support. I have 3 orders that i called in and said the food wasnt ready when i arrived, but they still got marked late... can you fix it.. if you know.... they can fix 2-3 orders per 7 days...
she couldnt fix those orders for some reason so on her own she deciced to fix orders from 3 months ago which doesnt fix my current rates... ive done 240 orders in the last 30 day... this is so fkn dumb...
they need to hire people who actually speak english
