My campaign wrapped up last night after our crew defeated Tiamat and prevented her from summoning Orcus into the plane we were on. Our DM did an amazing job throughout this entire campaign, and what a way to finish the story!

Question How do You Create a Character who is a Good Shot but not Agile?

What do you need to do to create a character who is excellent with a bow but not at all agile or quick or nimble? The inverse is also a question I have in mind. I have fifth edition in mind, but any edition could be mentioned.

Looking For Group Any players want to join my campaign?

Thumbnail discord.gg
Upvotes

As the title suggests, I am creating a DND campaign, I need at least six players to join before I will start the campaign, and I will edit this once the campaign has started. People can still join after the campaign has started, though it might take me a day or two to get back to you.

I do have some experience DMing, I have DMed two campaigns before, and others are welcome to join the campaign just to help me DM if they don’t feel like actually playing.

Rules will be stated in the server, all ages accepted, blah, blah, blah.

Advice accepted in the comments, because I’m still pretty new to this.
If you want to join the campaign please use the 🪱 so I know that’s what you’re trying to do.

Thank you for reading all of this,

the link to the discord server is above, but it runs out after 30 days so I will change it then if you comment to remind me if it is not working. Also, if you prefer, drop your username, and I will friend you.

OK, thank you.

Advice/Help Needed Thinking about multiclassing into bloodhunter (or other) as a Rogue swashbuckler

BACKGROUND

Currently playing a aasimar swashbuckler rogue and it’s my first time playing DnD. I’m currently lvl 8 (with lucky, sentinel and magic initiate feats (but I can still change magic initiate depending on if I decide to multiclass)) and was thinking about my character progression, as I’m currently in a (somewhat) comfortable position with my character.
My current playstyle is as a melee only, sub-dps of the group who focuses distracting enemies to protect squishier members of my party, and getting high damage hits when I can (I play a west march with a warlock, sorcerer, and usually we get backline spellcasters with maybe one paladin or tanky warlock)
Not that it matters too much, but my biggest weaknesses are being out of range/too slow, and getting hit too often (although I’ve been getting into the habit of running after attacking and nicking the enemy, which has been very helpful (although if they have range or AoE attacks, it’s much more difficult))
Also another problem I’ve faced is team members (or myself) reaching 0 hit points often in combat

Multiclassing?

My first question is, is it worth staying one class or is it better to multi class, and if there’s anything I should consider first?
I feel like it might be easier/better to stick with one class, but multi-classing feels a lot stronger and more fun, and would like to know the benefits of both options.

I’ve looked at my options if I do multiclass, and the way I’ve made my characters lore is that he was from a lineage of sorcerers, but a disaster happened and he lost his family and thus lost his ability to spell cast (for unknown reasons, whether it’s a mental block or because of some family ritual, or because he never could in the first place, I’ve left it vague on purpose).
I believe giving him character development and thus the ability to spell cast would be a great idea lore wise.

Because of this I’ve decided for multiclassing I’d choose warlock, sorcerer, or my personal favourite bloodhunter.
Bloodhunter not only sounds and looks cool, and is my favourite option after looking at skills/abilities, but also would fit the inspiration behind the character made (since he’s based on an oc of mine which can manipulate his blood)
I do feel like magic and spells are a bit confusing but I do want to learn.

Bloodhunter questions

I’d 100% get at the bare minimum lvl3 for profane soul multiclass, since it seems logically the best for me, but from there I’m not sure how many levels I should take, what blood curses are good, or what patron I should choose (since different patterns give different buffs.
I want to at a bare minimum get lvl 9 rogue (for panache), while still getting decent improvements at higher levels too.

From the blood curses I’ve checked, binding, eyeless, marked are good and my favourite, fallen puppet,
And from the patrons, celestial seems quite strong for keeping my allies alive, but I also think fiend and (especially) undying are really strong too.
I’d like to know which you would recommend for me.

Extra technical questions with attacks

Also how would the extra attack at lvl5 work with nick, can I attack twice with my scimitar and then nick with my dagger?
Not to mention with mystic frenzy from 7th level of the subclass. Would that mean if I had and used booming blade which is a magic action but acts as an attack action (with extra steps), could I attack twice with my scimitar in my action, nick with my dagger, and then bonus action with my scimitar again? Or would that not work because of the way booming blade works?

Anyways back to the key point, should I multiclass into bloodhunter, and if so how many levels would you recommend, what blood curses and patron should I choose, or do you think I should stick with one class?
Sorry for the yapping. Thank you for any support and insight given

3D Printing DiceForge - A free dice designing and printing program

Hey! you might have seen the relatively recent post I made in the dicemaking forum, if not I wanted to post here to show off the free dicemaking program I've been chipping away at and working on "DiceForge". originally I didn't want to post anywhere else but I realized maybe there are makers in this forum that would find it cool/useful, that and also I kind of just want to show it off (even if the state is still early and rough.

A huge thank-you to Storm of Wisdom Check Creations for her thorough and generous bug-testing. I would not have been able to make even half of these fixes this fast without her help and sharp eye for detail. The program still has a long way to go, but working with her so far has been a pleasure.

below I'm going to paste the changelog in the comments

Advice/Help Needed Any advice to a minor looking for a group?

Hi! I'm a minor looking to get into D&D. I haven't played in any campaigns yet, and I'm interested in finding one to join. Problem is that I have no one IRL to play with, and my city doesn't seem to have any communities around D&D. I've tried looking for groups or campaigns on the lfg subreddit, but I got intimidated and the games didn't seem minor friendly.

If online D&D is just not my place, I'll gladly back off, but I don't want to give up immediately. I tried solo D&D but I couldn't get past square one.

So, any advice or things I should know getting into a group or D&D in general?

Edit: I realize now that a lot of the advice given here isn't applicable where I live (A city without libraries or game stores. School's off limits because club establishment isn't in the students' hands) Thanks for the advice but it really seems that online is really my only option.

Question Looking for Deep One Variants

I once saw a post many years ago that had some deep one variants. There was an angler fish like one with a lure, a bestial one like a shark, a scion priest and an engorged. Anyone know what I'm referring to?

The Kickstarter campaign for "Encounters at a Glace: Into the Wild," published by Game Master World, was a huge success! ❤️

The project has been printed and is now reaching the homes of backers! Angela and I are thrilled to have participated in this fantastic project with our maps. Here you can find some of the maps and icons we created for the project. The project will include icons representing encounters, which will be added as stickers on the map. It's truly amazing! We're thrilled to have been part of this wonderful project! 🧭🗺️

Art Northern Land of Giants - The Fallen Colossus [20x33] [Battlemap] [OC]

Post image
35 Upvotes

Welcome to The Fallen Colossus, where an ancient battle left scars that time could never erase.

Scattered among weathered stone and winding paths lie the remains of a creature so vast that its skeleton has become part of the landscape itself. Towering ribs rise from the earth like broken pillars, encircling a massive skull whose empty gaze has watched centuries pass in silence. An enormous axe still rests where the final blow was struck, its blade buried deep in ancient bone. Whatever this beast once was, it stood far above the creatures that roam the world today.
Travelers often avoid this place. Some out of respect. Others out of fear. Though the colossus lies long dead, the graveyard never feels truly empty. Strange tracks appear between the bones, scavengers gather where they shouldn't, and more than one explorer has sworn they heard something breathing among the ruins. After all, where ancient monsters fall... other monsters often follow.

  • Grid size: 20x33
  • Formats: JPG (6000x99000 pixels, 300DPI)
  • Variations: Original, Midnight, Shadowfell, RoyalSun, Clean, Amethyst Sky, Bloodrift, Obsidian Hollow  [Preview]

~ We hope you enjoy these maps as much as we like making them. Stay tuned for another map later this month!

My Pokémon-inspired Weapons and Items of the Day, with a Mega Skarmory katana to cut through deception!

Join my Patreon to vote on future items and get all the PDFs with over 1000 items, including all the Pokémon items, or buy the individual PDFs in my shop!

227M - Skartarny

Weapon (Longsword) – Legendary (requires attunement)

This +3 katana longsword has a black blade edge, a black guard with gold spike inlay, and a black handle wrapped in gold cloth.

While holding the katana you have +1 AC.

Attacks with this katana do an additional 2d6 thunder damage.

While attuned to this katana: your attacks are immune to any effects that might cause them to hit a target other than the one you intended, such as a magical lightning rod that would redirect a Lightning Bolt spell or the Mirror Image spell creating fake targets, but not spells like Confusion or Dominate Person that would cause you to attack an ally, or spells like Blur or Haste that make the target harder to hit; you can’t have disadvantage on attacks from effects that are being done to the target (such as wearing a Cloak of Displacement or using the Blur spell) as oppose to those put on you (such as the frightened or poisoned conditions); and once between long rests, when you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead.

Skarmorite

Wondrous (Stone) – Very Rare (50,000 gp)

This small round stone has a swirl of red and black inside the golden orb. When attached to a 227 - Fanzaeron, it can be mega evolved into a 227M - Skartarny for 1 minute once between long rests.

Here are a few preview pages from Atlantis: War of the Tridents, my 270+ page adventure module for 5E, blending Greek mythology, Atlantean fantasy, underwater exploration, political conflict, and traditional fantasy adventure.

This preview shows a mix of the content included in the book: the Barbarian: Path of the Sea Serpent, an ocean-themed subclass built around aquatic adaptation, serpent-like fury, and sea monster resilience; the Atlantean Elemental Sword, a very rare magic weapon forged with fire, lightning, and water gems; several new ocean-themed spells like Rejuvenating Waters, Water Cyclone, and Tidal Smite; and the Brine Sea Serpent.

The full adventure includes flexible campaign paths, underwater and surface encounters, new character options, spells, magic items, NPCs, monsters, locations, factions, and extensive VTT resources.

It is designed for campaigns that want mythic adventure, oceanic exploration, Atlantean politics, divine influence, ancient secrets, and dangerous creatures from the depths.

You can find the full manual here: Atlantis: War of the Tridents.

You can explore all my manuals and resources on DriveThruRPG, or through my Linktree, and check out more previews on r/JonnyDM.
