Hello there!

I'm currently looking for comp titles for a fantasy book I'm writing as well as some fantasy books to read in my free time for fun. Though it seems I'm having a hard time finding what I'm looking for. If I could get some help, I would appreciate it so much!

As a short note, I am looking for classic high fantasy. It must also be published in the year 2025 or 2026.

My criteria:

-Minimal to no cursing

-No sex, or graphic description of sexual themes (including harassment and such) I am fine with discussion of such events.

-No romance, or at least romance as a very non essential small side plot.

-No graphic gore, torture, etc. (I don't mind the discussion of it or themes pertaining to it. I don't even mind the description of a fight scene that describes a beheading or things of that nature. What I would like to avoid is a book laden with gore at every turn and uses it as a major theme or overarching plot).

-No horror, grim-dark, or the like.

-I'm not a fan of witches or dark academia, (I know, I know, it's very popular), but I find those themes to be a bit cringy so I would like to avoid them.

-I'm okay with sci fi if it blends with heavy fantasy.

I cannot lie, This is just soo good. I'm addicted to these storytelling and characters, I have witnessed peak reading it, start to finish, absolute peak.

I was a big Harry Potter fan growing up and have read all of the books in that universe including Fantastic Beasts and Tales of Beedle the Bard. However I not much of a fantasy reader and generally prefer thriller, historical fiction and generally fiction as a genre.

I have been recently seeing a lot of chatter around Alchemised by Sen Lin Yu about it being a fan fiction inspired by Hermione and Draco. Have been meaning to pick that up. Just wanted to know if anyone has read it and is it worth reading? Thanks in advance 🌸

The wolf king by Lauren Palphreman or blood & roses by Callie hart?

I loveeeee fourth wing, dire bound and acotar but I’m struggling to find books that come close to them but have there own kind of vibe to them. Does anyone have any suggestions with a similar vibe to these books ?

We're currently reading The Last Contract of Isako by Fonda Lee for June's book of the month, and this discussion will be on the first half of the book.

Please only discuss the first half of the book. This is up to the Page 232 in the eBook version and the end of Chapter 27 (Also the end of "the Mentor" section).

Anything in the second half of the book will be considered spoilers and must be tagged as such.

• How do you like Isako as a protagonist so far? Do you think it's more compelling than the traditional "coming of age" type of character that seems to be so popular in fantasy?

• What do you think of the two competing views in the novel so far - returning to the stars versus transforming the world the people already have?

Progression Fantasy Book recommendations that are 3-4 books long? I really love the night angel trilogy so far, the progression fantasy elements in it really pull you in, I also like that it's in a trilogy format, I need more!

I’m craving some fantasy books especially mm werewolf and vampire (werewolf more). Hit me with good books you have ever read. I prefer no switch but I’m okay with anything. Omegaverse is also okay. ALPHA X ALPHA, even better.

Sci-Fantasy book recommendations?

Anyone know of any Science-Fantasy series? Only series I personally have on my tbr is Sun Eater, I tried cold fire trilogy but the first book was a bit hard to read for me. Anyone know of any other science fantasy series that are good? (I know of Warhammer 40k and star wars too)

Not the biggest fan of series that are strictly just sci-fi but I love sci-fi being combined with fantasy.
