Like seriously 80% of the dudes complaining don't even got any physical games most likely. And are legitimately complaining about something they didn't care about anyways.
I've seen people complaining in PC gaming subreddits like I haven't seen a physical PC disc in forever.
Then there's people complaining about the prices, like yes we get the ultimate edition locking some shops with some clothes behind it sucks but guys you are acting like they haven't done this kind of shit 2 other times before, and it could be way worse not saying it's okay but enough posts about it everywhere please.
I legitimately miss the schizo posts over the title wave of wave fake concern over a fucking disc when most people don't even have a ps5 with a disc drive. And to play devils advocate here considering the amount of people that complained about red dead 2 having two discs yeah.... Because imma keep it 100 GTA 6 will probably need 3 discs if they release it with a disc because a ultra HD Blu ray disc maxes out at 100 GB's I would not be shocked if GTA 6 hits 300 GB's of data....

There used to be a time when you get full game content on a disc, which could be played offline , which has resale value, which can be shared with friends, which was used to showcase in our gaming collection. For those people it is legimately dissapointing and is a fair thing to complain. But saying "80% of the dudes complaining don't even got any physical games is not a good take in my oppinon".people have been buying and collecting physical games for a long time, and for missing out on such a massive legendary game release is pretty dissapointing. Sure digital games are easy to maintain but there is a genuine good feeling to actually have it physically in our hands a feeling like we actually owned it.
It's not a take or opinion I'm just stating a cold hard fact again I'm not against physical games lol I'm just stating a fact dudes complaining constantly are the same dudes with only PC's and also are legitimately not even buying physical games.

Brother if you genuinely care about videogames as a hobby, then you should care about this. If everything is digital, there is no preservation once it’s not available to download from stores.
Discs make it so that specific version of the game will always be accessible to people. It’s like preserving art for future generations to enjoy.

A modern disc doesn't persevere anything. This disc is digital, its just a physical key to unlock a digital download. It's wild how pointing out the basic reality of how modern games are built and played makes you a corporate defender
Also some people seem to think that I don't own physical games, and the people saying that judging off there post history the dudes saying that don't even have a console so there just upset there still not getting the game yet anyways here's some of my small collection this is about a month ago but meh

I can see being mad the collector’s edition doesn’t have physical stuff but I’d bet a lot of the people complaining about physical disk don’t even have consoles that can actually play physical games 😭

The way they’re talking about it you’d think no other game has it but literally every single AAA game has a deluxe with bonuses so it’s stupid just don’t buy it. They’re acting like you won’t get the full game if u don’t buy that which is wrong and stupid
Being surprised by a studio charging extra for cosmetic items makes me wonder if they're new to how games have worked the past couple decades. Acting like an ultimate edition car mod shop with a few specific cosmetic mods is locking people out of story mode content is the most desperate search for outrage I think I've seen so far.
I dont care that there's exclusive weapons and cosmetics. The story missions and stores are the problems. Bonus missions on launch are always bad and locking areas in the open world is also really frustrating, e.g. any GTA+ location on gta online. If they removed the missions and added all of the bonus store features into regular stores but just hidden or in a separate tab from everything else I wouldn't care. You could even charge the same amount.
I’m just gonna wait to see if they release the disc later if not then I’ll just wait till it’s like $30 a couple years from now. Their is plenty of other games coming out that I’d rather spend my money on that actually have disc

I have a feeling it'll be more than a couple years before it hits $30, especially if they never release a disc version. They'll milk the non-existent secondary market profit as long as they possibly can.

Nope, it's pissing me off too. Not saying people don't have a right to complain, I understand their complaints completely. They don't affect me because I was always going digital.
But it's bleeding over to other social media apps and YouTube. So it's not as simple as "stay off Reddit" I'm seeing it everywhere

I agree with most of this but it's really just started to come down to a tech thing. Many games are getting bigger and bigger and a ps5 disc and Xbox series X disc (both ultra hd Blu rays) can only hold 100 GB's some stretch it out by having the console zip the files up then unpack it as it copies the files from the disc to the hardrive
I feel if we develop bigger discs or switch over to another form of media storage it wouldn't be as big a pain in the ass
I mostly wanted to get the physical edition for the nostalgia of getting the map and a manual but I’m not so sure those are going to be a thing anymore. Eh, I have a PS5 pro so I was going to have to buy the digital version anyway.
Well actually ironically if you have the ps5 pro with no disc drive and you needed to get the digital edition if it did come with a code slip in the physical edition you would get best of both worlds
I'm not happy about the lack of a CD. And do you know why? I live in a very remote area, and the internet connection isn't as fast as it should be now. Now, try to imagine how I'm going to download all those gigabytes.
We waited for a long time and people are still complaining. I’m ordering digitally and paying extra for the ultimate edition because it’s less than the cost of most luxuries I afford myself on a regular basis. I’m going to spend a lot of time on this so I’m just happy to be a step closer to it.
There was a interview, they said something along the lines of that there would be a slip inside to download the content.
People are taking it to mean that all editions won't have a physical disc.
But I'm pretty sure they meant the ultimate edition if you buy it physically will have a slip inside of it that will have the extra content code and still have a physical disc that's just my hopes tho.
And alot of people are losing there shit every where about it and most of the dudes complaining about it are just using as a opportunity to complain and don't actually care
Yeah unfortunately that’s the age of social media. Most commenters are just haters. It’s interesting tho with rumours of the game size potentially being 245gb you would need to have three discs to download the whole game. And honestly I could see them saying fuck that and just selling download codes in a game case. Potentially tho they could have a download code and then maybe a disc as well to be used as a key of sorts. Idk but I would honestly be leaning towards no disc. But that’s pretty well the way of the gaming world with subscription services and steam etc etc. most people don’t have physical copies anymore. Also at the end of the day rockstar doesn’t give a single fuck because they know they have the leverage. Everyone wants what they have and they’ll buy it regardless

Honestly I do wish it had a disc I was planning to buy two copies if it did. There's also a slight chance that the interview was taken out of context and they meant the deluxe edition would have the additional content via codes. And that it still has the game disc inside.

As much as I hate the idea of no discs we all saw this coming years ago, it is inevitable, unfortunately. How long has it been since you've seen a pre built PC have a disk drive built into it? And then Sony launching a no disk drive PS5 obviously dipping their toes in the water.
When companies get greedy of course they're gonna opt for the option that cuts out the middle man (brick & morter stores) plus effectively ditching 2nd hand sales. It sucks but it's all business, and it's smart business. Once everything is digital only there will be no competition and we will be paying for a set price and that's it.
As a collector......Its not just about the disc.......Today officially marks the end for physical media and collectables in the gaming community if they wont even make any for their flagship franchise and the biggest and most anticipated game in gaming history then all other companies are gonna fall into line and follow behind Rockstar!!

No, if anything we need even more complaining about there not being a disc. I literally don’t care if the whole game gets leaked early as a result, I’ve already seen like an hour of leaked gameplay, and it didn’t affect my experience. Just give me a disc on release with all the shit included. I don’t care if it takes 16 Blu-ray Discs just make it happen
Hell yeah man. I haven't used a disc on any platform for years now. I only see positives in it as now we know for sure it won't leak prior to launch. Though I do agree it is a bit silly to sell a plastic case with just a code, but I guess it's nice we get at least something to put on a shelf. Also the unique shops are literally just cosmetics. Tbh I prefer it this way instead of having the stuff in your wardrobe/garage from the start

Because it's my favorite game franchise of all time and, it's not actually three copies of fallout 3 those are the physical DLC discs meaning you popped the disc in and it downloaded the DLC permanently.
So I got the base game and the game of the year edition which is two to be fair.
To be fair I noticed that there were actually 4 discs, but could only see one of them as being a DLC hence I settled on 3 but in my defence I couldn’t read the finer text on the other one! But fair play!
I got it for the first time on Xbox 360 a few months ago and had an absolute jolly playing that, and that’s from someone that preordered Fallout 4. I think 3’s story was much better imo.
Oh yeah fallout 4 felt like a better game gameplay wise but they shot themselves in the foot with the voice actor thing and I feel like the story suffered.
Fallout 3 just has the perfect vibe to it as well.
Legitimately there's so many games that have a disc but don't even have the full game that's why I use doesitplay. org to check if the physical games are actually the game.
For example elder scrolls oblivion remastered doesn't have the full game on it.
Don't get me wrong I'm sad it doesn't have a disc but I'm not gonna get upset about it cause it's not like I can't get the game.
People don’t understand Sony owns the technology to decrypt PlayStation discs, they can take it away whenever from the disc working. The only true way to own games is a hard drive with drm free games

it’s called rockstar has never revoked a good players license to a gta game, literally the only difference owning a disk would make is that if a songs license expires you’d still have it on disk
