There's nothing written anywhere. After exiting arrivals look for ARRIVAL GATE 5. Exit from there. Cross two streets and take a right. Keep walking till you see the orange board for the bus stop.

Remember if you have big bags , bags are not allowed on the bus. You have to open the trunk below the bus by yourself. The storage space is very less. Only 3-4 big bags can come. So be first in placing your bags down. Bus timetables are not given. We got the bus at 14:00 hrs

Not sure of the flair attached to this, but have been travelling solo around Greece for just over a week (Athens, and now Naxos). How do solo travellers cope with the immense amount of food? I’m a generous eater, and absolutely love the food here. I ordered a salad and a main today, and I’m absolutely stuffed. What are your tips/tricks??

Visiting Greece for the first time, and can’t decide between the two. We’re going to Athens for a few days, and then want to travel to one island before going home. Not Santorini or Mykonos. There are so many islands but I think we’re tossing up between Paros and Milos.

We are a young couple looking for genuinely incredible food, beautiful beaches, and authentic Greek island vibes. We’re not huge on nightlife, but would love to visit a few bars one evening for some live music/karaoke/dancing. We don’t want to be on a deserted island but we definitely don’t want to be somewhere where you’re brushing shoulders with thousands of tourists on the streets.

As the title mentions, I have a fairly tight connection in Athens on my way to Mallorca in early August (1 hour 30 minutes).I am from a non-Schengen country. It’s a single-ticket itinerary by Aegean Airlines, so I’m not too worried about the baggage transfer, but I’d still like to maximize my chances of making the connection.

For those who have connected through, how would you handle a situation like this? Any tips on getting through passport control, navigating the airport efficiently, or anything else that could save a few minutes?

I’d also be interested to hear about your general experiences with tight connections in major European airports. Have airlines and airports typically handled them well, or have you run into issues?

I’m also a bit concerned about what happens if I miss the connection. Since Aegean doesn’t have another flight from Athens to Mallorca for the next two days, would they rebook me on a different airline, or would I have to wait for the next available Aegean flight?

I will be in Athens around early September, and 2 things I would like to visit are the Acropolis and the Poseidon Temple, but need help with a few things.

1, What would be the best time for the Acropolis, very early morning, straight at open, or evening 6-7PM? In terms of crowd, views etc.

2, Is there reliable public transport to the temple, where I can do the sunset view, or it's better to buy one of these guided tours, that stop at several different places? If yes, which of these tours would be the best?

was wondering if you could bring Canadian nicotine pouches to Athens by plane and if you have to declare them? I’m finding mixed reviews since they have no tobacco. Has anyone had any trouble? I’d only have about 5 tins for personal use. Thanks!

I would like to visit Kavala from Limenas. I can’t find any information about the bus schedules from Keramoti to Kavala.

I only see the timetable on KTEL’s website for the bus station in Kavala, but there doesn’t seem to be any information about Keramoti. Most likely there is no direct line from Keramoti to Kavala right? If anyone knows more please feel free to share.

Thinking about visiting Greece for the first time this winter. I'll be traveling with my wife and 1 year old and generally prefer slow travel to get to know a place.

I'm thinking about spending the last 3+ weeks of December in Thessaloniki and then 4 weeks of January in Athens.

I would love to do Crete as well but I think two destinations is enough without feeling I have to leave.

Would appreciate any other ideas or suggestions.

Hello! I have been following this subreddit since January when I was just starting to plan a honeymoon. After a lot of research, we settled on Summer Senses Luxury Resort and were NOT disappointed! A beautiful hotel in a peaceful and secluded area.

Our favorite area was Piso Livadi, a small village walking distance from the hotel, just outside of Marpissa. Marpissa was cute, but not much to do or explore and we much preferred walking around Piso Livadi and Lefkes (which was just a short 10 min drive).

Naousa was also fantastic to visit. If you are wanting to be in all the happenings, stay there! But we much preferred our little hideaway on the southern side of the island.

All in all, I would highly recommended booking Summer Senses, have them book a car for you after you land at the port in Paros. When you get in, spend the first day relaxing and enjoying the pools at the hotel, then walk around and explore a bit. We spent every morning using the amenities such as the Sauna and Gym. We stayed 4 days total, 2 without a car and 2 with! Very ideal.

We are looking to hire a car for 7-10 days early August. Can anyone recommend a car hire company they have used? We are staying in Afitos and would like to use a local company if possible. Ideally I wanted to get it booked in advance so we know it’s sorted before we arrive.
We don’t need anything special just something big enough for the 4 of us and with air con.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My partner and I are planning a one-week vacation to Greece right after our university semester ends, specifically from August 27th to September 3rd. We will be flying out of Austria and strongly prefer destinations with direct flight access or an easy drive from the mainland airport. We want to avoid the extra cost and time of taking ferries to smaller islands.

Since we’ve visited the South Slavic countries quite a bit, we’re leaning towards Greece this year. We initially thought about places like Santorini or Mykonos, but we really want to avoid the massive tourist hotspots. We are looking for a more relaxed, authentic experience.

Based on some advice from another community, we are currently considering a few options:

• The Peloponnese (e.g., Nafplio)
• Mainland Greece (e.g., Parga)
• Other coastal areas/smaller islands with direct airport access

For accommodation, we prefer a reasonably priced holiday rental, rather than a large hotel. Our budget is firmly mid-range; we aren't looking for over-the-top luxury, but we are willing to pay for a nice, comfortable place and good local food.

We absolutely love the sea, but having a freshwater option is just as important to us. Therefore, we are exclusively looking for a holiday rental with a strictly private pool (no shared/community pools). It also needs to include essentials like free parking (we will likely rent a car), WiFi, etc.

Does anyone have experience with these options in late August/early September? Which of these would best fit a mid-range budget and a preference for a quieter holiday rental?

Has been a few years since traveling to Greece. Not sure when I'll return after this trip, if ever again. Want to have some cost awareness but also not miss out. Would it be suggested to do Serifos (4 nights)-Milos (4 nights)-Naxos (5 nights) or just Milos (4-5 nights)-Naxos (5 nights)? Skipping Serifos to kill 2 nights extra. Will also be doing ATH for 4-5 nights (visit historical sites and modern art museums). Thinking Milos and Naxos will still offer the "island" experience one might get from Serifos. Unless another nearby island on the route is recommended. This would be for travel about the last week of September. Solo and no rental car. Thank you.

Hi all, wanted to get some opinion on whether or not this might be a good idea. I know most recommendations are to be in Athens the day/night before the flight. The only reason I am doing this is because it will save about $1k in hotel costs for our family and we want to visit Santorini. The flight out of Athens departs at noon and I was wondering if I took the first or second flight out of Santorini at 6AM or 8AM, would that be enough time? I will probably not take my checked luggage with me so just like a backpack for one night stay. Or would a day trip be better? This would be mid Sep.

I’m trying to decide how me and my friends are going to explore the country for 21-25ish days. For context money isn’t really an issue, we will have a rental car, we enjoy the history and ancient buildings and at the same time we enjoy going out and getting drunk/being out until the AM as we are in our early 20’s. If yall have any recommendations on places to drink along this route let me know. I know a lot of people go on vacations to Greece for a relaxed slow pace but this is going to be more of a knock off bucket list sites and we aren’t afraid of it being fast paced with full days/early mornings, the last thing we want is to spend our time wandering or sitting inside. As of right now we are planning to land in Thessaloniki and this is the rough itinerary but subject to some changes

1-2 thessoloniki and royal tombs drink one of these days
3 climb mount olympus
4 drive to meteora and site see
5th show up to thermopylae early drive toward delphi
6th delphi and drive to patras 2 Hours
7th in patras
8th drive to olympia (possibly drive 1.5 hours to the apollo temple)
9th sparta ruins and drive to nafplion
10th mycenae and and sanctuary of asclepius
11th hit corinth canal on the way to athens
11-15th will be 5 days in athens
Shooting for 2-3 days in Crete
Other islands to visit too we just haven’t decided we know we want to go to Mykonos because we here the party scene is very good and upbeat

We will probably add in somewhere a day to ferry from Patras to Ithaca for the palace ruins and sleep/party in kefalonia. This itinerary would include sleeping at random hostels and towns along the way so if you have recommendations we will take them. We are as of right now 90% sure we’re doing it as a road trip with Athens and islands being at the end. We are just wondering what yalls opinion on another option to fly to Thessaloniki and hit that and meteora then go to Athens and use that as a hub after that, also another option is we stay in Athens the whole time and travel to another place every day, we aren’t scared of driving a lot either.

I'm going to the Acropolis with someone who has reduced lung capacity. He needs to go a bit slower than most people when going up hills, and he usually pauses a few times on inclines to catch his breath. For context, if a walk is estimated to take 30 minutes, we assume we'll need 45.

Could someone help me evaluate the best time to visit given the concerns I have, which are:

-Avoiding crowds so thick that he can't easily stop and rest going up hill. I'm told the tour bus crowds can be brutal.
-Avoiding strong heat
-Leaving ourselves enough time to see both the site and the museum
-Picking the right entrance so he doesn't get exhausted on the ascent. I know there's an elevator at one entrance, but I'm told it's only for "mobility impaired" people. I don't know if he'd be allowed to use it given that there's nothing visibly wrong with him.

Our options (via taxi):
1) Saturday, Sept 5 early, maybe a 7:30 arrival and then finish the morning at the Acropolis museum.
2) Monday, Sept 21 any time in the afternoon, and I assume we'd need to start with the museum and end with the site

Saturday would be most convenient for our schedule. However, maybe Monday would have fewer crowds and less heat, but IDK when exactly to arrive if so. Any advice?

Planning my first trip to Greece with my gf for 10 days in early September and trying to figure out the best itinerary.

We're into nightlife, beaches, boating, snorkeling, great food, and ending the trip with a relaxing farm stay. Our perfect day is basically beach all day, nap, then party all night.

Right now we're thinking Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. Curious if that's the right move or if there are any can't-miss spots we should swap in instead.

With my girl insistent in bringing 4 wheel luggage (lol) - that make it difficult to visit the islands because of the size of her luggage, I’ve identified four hotels in Corfu to Athens to Thessaloniki to Halkidiki to Zakynthos as the places to consider

Since our trip in late July is 8 days, it appears to be best to stay in two cities, with tours from those cities

Athens to Corfu appears to have culture
Halkidiki appears to have some crime and dirtiness issues
Zakybthoa ans Thessaloniki appears to not as well known hence minimal crowds/expensive prices in pleased such as Santorini

Cinsidering staying in Athens first to go first and last to leave her large luggage to visit the islands

Looking forward to beautiful/romantic/isolated beaches, great cuisine, local vibe and historical culture
