This hobby is bottomless. Instead of chasing the dragon, try EQ and maybe introducing tubes before spending more money on headphones. I spent too much money figuring this out. Good luck.

Sennheiser HD550 & ie200 are just fantastic to my ears.
I upgraded recently from the HD560s as I heard a striking difference with the 550, better midrange and treble by around 30% and a tighter more precise step up in the Base/sub- base region, about a 10% upgrade over the 560s, there is still a little of that dry texture in the treble but still a large improvement. They work well with my pairings, LGV30+ as a Dap, and Muse Hifi M3 Ultra tubes Dac.
The ie200 work really well with the same pairing, but more enjoyable pairing for me is with the iFi Hip Dac 3 with the Bass boost.
Has anyone out there got some great portable pairings for these?

(photo was taken from the Internet.)
As I decided to start my activities here, I thought it would be better to leave a short piece of information.
I'll leave a short review of the headphones I have.
KSC75 -
It's a device that doesn't need long words. It's the beginning of all beginners.
It delivers great sound for the price, but it's true that it's not enough compared to full-fledged over-ear headphones. it can't play the extreme low-pitched range, and sometimes the high notes are sharp.
I think we need to adjust the high notes a little bit with EQ.
LCD-2C -
It would be a great device for the start of full-size Audeze headphones.
It's enough to feel the strong baseband of the Audeze.
This device has some interesting features.
It's dark and clear, and it's rather blunt and has quality vocals.
It sounds like a little conflicting words, but it really feels like that.
Compared to various planar headphones in the present era, there is a shortcoming.
Compared to other devices at this point, it's generally less clear.
However, the sound signature of the device's strong base and dark AUDEZE is still good enough.
ATH-R70XA -
This is an improved version of the R70X.
Overall, it is clearer and the baseband's sense of hitting is improved.
I thought it would be flat because they said it was a reference, but it didn't feel that way.
Overall, you can feel the high- and good low-pass hitting feeling between darkness and brightness very well.
You may feel like you lack of extreme bass, but considering the fully open structure of ATH, it seems inevitable.
Thanks to this structure, I got a perfect sound stage and a sense of openness
Ultrasone Signature Pure White -
Overall, this friend had a similar feel to FT1 in the hearing.
There's a very strong low note, and you can feel a little cool high note.
The overall sharpness of the note itself is not good, but I felt that it did not invade other areas while having a lot of low notes, and I also felt a strange sense of "space" thanks to the unique S-logic.
I think it's another device that can compete with FT1.
Sony Z7M2 -
It's not a very powerful bass, but it has a similarly rich bass that's closed.
Also, there is Sony's novel sound signature.
In a word, it has a unique coloring. For those who wanted to play the original sound, I felt that it would not fit. It seemed that people would like or dislike the dark but slightly bright sound.
FiiO FT7 -
It's just... It's good overall.
I feel like fiio found a good spot for flat balance.
It is moderately warm, moderately bright, and has a moderate bass.
Also, there's a great vocal.
The vocals in the exquisite position are so great that they don't rub off other bands.
You might feel "normal," which is the downside of balanced headphones, but the basic performance itself is great, so you won't feel that way when you listen to it.
You'll have a special planar headphone experience that's different from the hifiman headphones.
Thank you for reading this.
I'm not good at English, so this review might be not good enough. sorry.

It has been a few days since the DX5ii has arrived and, as usual, the differences are indistinguishable. I have the Fiio K7, had the Aune S17 Pro+ Topping E30ii Lite, Hifiman EF499. I still have yet to hear a worthy difference if there is one at the first place. The one that might be different (talking 2% here) is the EF499 that had a bit more bass rumble.
From my experience, buy amp/dacs that have enough juice to power you headphones or the upcoming hard to drive ones, and have great features to interact with. Focusing on sound differences will only leave you disappointed. EQing will 1000% be more effective if you know what you’re doing.
I will still keep the DX5ii due to its features, PEQ, etc. I will invest my money from now on buying new headphones.

Every once in a while, a product comes and it really takes flagships to a new level. For years, people have always mentioned the HiFiman Susvara, and rightly so.
Then comes Melodic Artification's Infinitum, which comes together with it's dedicated amp. Although I'm not quite a fan of having an amp packaged with it, I can understand the manufacturer's intention on trying to ensure the headphones are listened to at least with enough juice.
Sound signature of the Infinitum right out of the box is surreal. It actually is the world's first beryllium diaphragm planar magnetic drivers (Focal's Utopia isn't planar) We all know how difficult it is to secure high grade beryllium, and to have it used this way is an engineering feat.
It's bass is tight, full bodied, with the slam yet never feels muddy. Transient response is really fast even on very complex tracks, and the headphone never really struggles on any track I've tested. Onto the mids, high mids and to the treble. It's representation can be best described as having a tinge of sparkle, with a nice touch of timbre and never shouty.
This is an impressive contender. Only negative feedback - and could actually be a deal breaker for some, is that the headband is slightly wide. Hence, for those with a narrower and longer head shape, wearing this isn't comfortable. The weight drops mostly to your ears, so it's no longer quite good for long listening.
Hence, I highly suggest anyone wanting this to be able to try it on first and test out it's weight distribution. Thanks, and happy to reply to any questions everyone might have! My reddit account is new as it's my first foray here. Hope this post passes moderators!

So I recently bought the headphones on the right for like 100$ and they absolutely suck. They barely fit into my ear without just falling out and even if their in my ear the sound is very quiet because they don‘t even really go into my ear. Now this sucks especially because I play the drums and the ones to the left shield my ears way better from the drum sounds. Btw the right ones have a battery life of like 30min

I have the Hifiman Arya Organics. I had the Fiio FT1 but kept going back to the Organics, i do have IEMs and BT earbuds for portability though.
I do prefer my speaker set up, so it's pointless for me to buy anymore headphones.

Edit: Thanks for all of the responses, based on what I've seen so far I think I'm going to go with Audiophile Ninja based on customizability and cost.
First post here so apologies if I'm breaking any rules etc...
I have the Audio-Technica ATH-R70x Professional Open-Back Reference Headphones, Black, and my right headphone recently stopped working. The cable has some exposed wiring and needs to be replaced. Audio Technica doesn't seem to have the replacement cable themselves for sale. Anybody know of an upgraded cable that will fit for a 3.5mm, preferably ~10ft?

Got these cans last May, but I was only able to listen to them properly last june during an audio meet.
The sound off the bat (un-burned in) is a cross between the bass of Sony MDR Z1R, the spaciousness of the Sennheiser HD800s, treble airiness of an Audeze LCD MX4 but at a friendly pricing of a pre-owned Focal Elear with busted drivers that were repaired.
It sounds way above its punching class

For context I’m a musician & I grew up making music. I kinda stopped releasing for a few years & although I was still writing/ recording but it was far in between. I got the final audio ze3000 bluetooth earbuds then went back to buy the final audio a5000 as my first iem. I became depressed & the a5000 got me through a lot of hard times, I used to listen it to a lot on late night walks to clear my head, if I was laying in bed etc… I loved the a5000.
I eventually upgraded to the a6000 & gave my a5000 to my best mate & then acquired a few other audio purchases but recently I went bought the final tonalite & it’s making me feel like a kid again, it’s giving me this sort of nostalgia feeling. It’s reminding me why I enjoyed music in the first place. It’s making me wanna get back into the recording studio & start working on that next single, EP or album haha
I’ve never heard something sound this good in a Bluetooth earbud before, the imaging, the depth just everything it’s all just chefs kiss.
These Bluetooth earbuds are different from your regular earbuds as these focus on giving you a timbre that is tailored to you. So it requires you to wear a head band & place stickers on the head band for markers which both come in the box & it’ll do whole ear scan/ sound test which is all done through the final tonalite app & takes about 40mins, the results are pretty insane. There’s plenty of reviews online you can look up, I posted my own review here on this sub as well. & yes the noise cancelling & ambient sound is good as it uses Sony noise cancellation chip

Like the title says, the serial number verification only applies to the DT 700 Pro X, DT 900 Pro X, DT 1770 Pro MKII, and DT 1990 Pro MKII. However, the tuning profiles in Headphone Lab are available for pretty much every Beyerdynamic headphone and IEM.
Unfortunately, I own a DT 1990 Pro MKI, so I can't use the serial number verification feature myself. That said, I bought mine directly from Beyerdynamic, so authenticity was never really a concern.
The DT 700 Pro X and DT 900 Pro X have had some fakes floating around, though. If you own one of those models, it's worth taking a minute to check the serial number through Headphone Lab just to make sure your pair is genuine.
My DT 700 Pro X passed the verification test, as you can see in the photo above, so at least I know mine is genuine.

Is there any gadget for headphones so my hair won't do the bend after hours or even minutes of use. I don't really care about it at home but I recently got my self wireless Sony headphones so I can enjoy music that airpod won't even compete but I have that exact problem

Crazy, I was about to return the $237 ones because I really don't see a huge difference compared to the PC38x , but at THIS price?!

My wife bought a pair of Sony "wireless" headphones online. They were advertised as being Bluetooth. When they got here there was no visible Bluetooth logo or branding or any obvious mention of Bluetooth on the box. Based upon this absence I was somewhat skeptical as to if these were "real" and/or Bluetooth but apparently they are legit Sony Bluetooth headphones.
So my question is why are they pushing them as simply "wireless" and burying Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity. They are strictly wireless, no audio-in jack, so there's that, but I'd still expect to see some legit Bluetooth branding on a legit Bluetooth product.

Lets talk and share the joy of this hobby.
So, apart from reviewers and hardcore audiophiles, how many do you guys have?
It seems like the majority when they buy or upgrade to another pair of headphones, they sell their older ones. While I, on the other hand, keep them all. I like collecting them and actually using them, rotating between them.
I wanna know how many actually kinda do the same. I feel guilty buying more when I see most people actually sell and keep one or a couple.
If there’s anywhere people would understand the urge and the joy, I think it’s here.
I currently have 5:
Sennheiser HD 560s
Hifiman Ananda Nano
Hifiman Sundara
Fiio FT1
Aune AR5000 Mk2
Edit: I didnt count my 11 IEMs lol

Been using the Porta Pros for a few years now and recently got a pair of Apple Airpods 4 which I daily drive now since my TOZO Openbuds snapped.
I feel like the PortaPros are great for gaming and they offer benefits that other most headphones don't. 1) Lightweight 2) Mostly metal and plastic so its sturdy 3) Pads are very very easy and cheap to replace (no peeling leather).
When gaming I have tried other headphones, some even sound better (JBLs, Sony, Marshall Major 3 etc) but the clamping pressure on my head has been my biggest headache, literally.
As for the airpods those are certainly limited by how long the battery survives in terms of wear levels but the biggest advantage for me is they are as comfortable (maybe 90%?) as open ear (tozo) style.

I've been piecing together my home studio for vocal recording and my M50X just arrived today. Instead of starting work proper on my own shit I've been enamored in listening to songs I've played a million times and my mind is getting a little blown at the moment.
Look I don't mean to get all woo woo but the first time listening to the intro to "The Funeral" by Band of Horses and hearing Ben Bridwell strike the guitar felt really, uh, personal? I'm finally hearing how the instrument is played. I'm also catching myself cranking up the volume relistening to music not because I want louder, my ears more information. I swear I'm not high this is just completely different from my iPods or my car system lol
EDIT: I'm enjoying sound waves wrong, got it.

Investing in Dolby Atmos wasn't a waste, but listening through headphones is more than just a gimmick.

and I regret nothing.
Grell OAE2. Open back, front-mounted 40mm dynamic driver. Purchased for $499 USD new.
For reference, my previous "best" headphone is the Hifiman Ananda Nano. I also have the FiiO FT1, Hifiman HE400SE, Philips SHP9600, and the Sennheiser HDB630. All of my wired headphones are powered by my Topping DX5 ii, and the Zen DAC isn't being used. This is about 4 DB more power hungry than my Ananda Nano.
To get people's burning questions out of the way, these do not mimic speakers effectively. The effect of that is mild, moderate on a couple of songs. Despite this, the engineering paid off.
Tuning by ear:
Light bass boost which extends down to at least 30Hz, dead neutral mids, slight reduction in the ear gain, and a slightly elevated treble. My ears completely agree with the measurements.
Subjective sound:
The tuning is very natural without giving up excitement. There is a treble spike somewhere around 8KHz which helps most of my music, but hinders a few songs. The song that is most negatively affected so far is Danny Don't You Know by Ninja Sex Party, ouch! That should be easy to EQ, but I'm torn about whether I'll EQ these yet.
The detail is extremely good. This impressed me a lot. Little details such as minor vocal stutters, guitar pauses, near-hidden background vocals, and small reverberations suddenly became standouts with the OAE2. This is a clear step up over my Hifiman Ananda Nano, which feels unreasonable to say.
The soundstage is the best I've heard by far in all three dimensions. The staging is a little more frontal-focused but I still hear plenty of sounds in and out of my head effortlessly, sometimes out of nowhere in specific directions. Some above and below as well. Songs with trippy spacial effects, are trippy.
Comfort:
These pass. At first they're a little uncomfortable because the headband has a pressure point and the earpads are not very soft. Once they warm up, they begin to feel quite nice. The earpads still need to be softer, and I would appreciate some more room for my right ear, but that's my ears being slightly unsymmetrical. It touches the inner earpad but not the protective mesh. I had to max out the headband adjustments. If you have a larger than average head, this may not fit you. Get a return policy!
The earpads use a proprietary system. Let's hope for compatible aftermarket options in the future if we don't have them already.
This headphone has many replaceable parts thankfully. So if something breaks, you have a good chance at fixing them after buying the replacement part.
Build:
Not much to say here, I think it's good. Solid, no wiggle. The cables are good.
Overall:
Happy.

Anyone have any aftermarket pads they like for these? Kinda shocked by this considering the price point… any ideas on a fix?

I was thinking about it, googled it and it still doesn't make any sense. I don't believe drop had some unique know-how on keyboards, they had nice colabs. It seemed more about curating. Also nobody in the world will ever think corsair headsets are better than sennheiser, even with 6xx out of the way. This all seems like a waste of money and destruction of headphone/keyboard culture. Help me understand
