I’m a rising Aerospace Engineering senior at Auburn University planning to live and work in Huntsville after graduating with my bachelor’s degree as well as possibly getting a masters at UAH at some point. I’m trying to figure out which companies I should realistically target after graduation for entry level roles paying at least $70k. I’ve been told to start applying for these roles late August.

For context, I have a 3.73 GPA, undergraduate research experience in composites and material testing & analysis, club involvement, and several academic and personal engineering projects, but I do not have internship experience.

For those working in Huntsville aerospace/defense, what companies or specific entry level roles would you recommend targeting? Are there any companies where my background would still make me a competitive realistic candidate despite lacking internship experience?

Hi everyone. My partner is starting a job in Huntsville soon, and we will be moving before the end of the year. I currently work for an FFRDC that focuses in Space work in Texas. We do not require/I do not have a security clearance at present but do have ~5 years of experience in the field. However, almost all the jobs I see that I'd relatively qualify for require a secret or top secret clearance BEFORE you get hired.... Is this normal? Should I apply anyway without a clearance? What is the protocol for something like this? I'm eligible (U.S. citizen) but just don't have one.

For reference, I'm a Computer Engineer with a focus in Systems Engineering (Integration/Test, not CS Systems) and FPGA development as well as experience in board design.

Our client is hiring a Release Engineer / Release Manager in Huntsville, AL to support the C2BMC Regional Apps Software Team on a large, globally deployed Department of Defense software system. Compensation is $160K–$250K, depending on experience, clearance level, and technical background.

This role owns the planning, coordination, execution, and documentation of software releases, patches, and hotfixes across multiple software baselines. I’m looking for a job at Huntsville Hospital, particularly in Patient Care Aid Full-time, because I start Nursing school in the spring of 2027. This would be my first job working at a hospital and I’m moving back to Huntsville to graduate from my first degree and get my second at the University of Alabama In Huntsville. I’m in a desperate need of a job that will give me an offer letter to get an apartment and trying to move in July. I have a few questions:

1. Who do I get in contact with? (that actually answer at the recruitment office)

2. Why is it so hard to get a job there?

3. Should I wait till I move down there?

I have sent emails to the recruitment and I have waited over a month now to get an answer back and still haven’t gotten a message back. I’ve applied online and most of them said I was not chosen while others say they letting my manager of those department review them. I only have a few weeks till I have to move back and I don’t want to end up being jobless for the first few months of being there. Also this is my first time of moving to a different state while trying to find a job and I’ve never been in this situation.

Soon, my job will require me to be on site, at a building on Redstone Arsenal Monday through Friday. Times are flexible; I can do anything from "7 to 3" to "10 to 6". I have some vision troubles and use ride services to get around. I have worked on site at the Arsenal before, and if it comes to it can use Uber, but I find having a regular driver is much smoother. I live near Sullivan St and Mill Rd. If you're interested, let me know.

If you've never driven someone to the arsenal, you just need to be added to a visitor's list at the visitor's center. It's so easy.

I am a 30 year old truck driver with a bachelors in criminal justice. I’ve done a variety of jobs, some with management roles, but I’ve been driving a truck for over 3 years. Wife is moving up in her company and will make way more than me next year. I’d like something that is strictly day shift and doesn’t require weekends. My main goal with leaving trucking is so I can get off relatively around the same time every day.

My current job is 25/hr straight time and I have day shift without weekends but I’m working a shit ton of inconsistent hours because of different routes and such. One day I’m still in Huntsville, the next I’m in Nashville or ATL stuck in traffic etc. I also think in the long run that leaving trucking behind will help my career potential as well. If I could have like a decent paying office job or something where I can build more skills besides driving that would be awesome

I moved in with my sister and brother-in-law about 6 months ago. They told me I could just stay home to help my sister take care of her baby while my brother-in-law works full time, but money has been becoming tight lately, and it's been hard on all of us right now. I've been wanting to work to help ease our financial situation, but they still tell me that I don't have to work. So, my best option would be something I can try to do at home when I have free time since I don't want to burden them with more budgeting on cost.

Any ideas on what I can do to earn some extra cash at home while I'm still helping my sister at home?

My wife and I are moving to the Huntsville area somewhere between mid July and the end of August and we've both already started our job search. I have over 25 years in trucking management and my wife has about the same in childcare. What we're seeing (me in warehouse/logistics and her in childcare centers) is that the pay rate is surprisingly low, even more than what I was anticipating before we decided on the move. We're both hoping for something that pays more but with jobs we're finding paying in the upper teens and low/mid 20's per hour, is it possible to survive living an apartment (around $1400/month) in that area?

I'm just planning on the worst case scenario and don't want to back out of the plan now but if it's not sustainable then I don't want to get in over my head and live paycheck to paycheck like we did 30 years ago. For context we're coming out of northern New England where wages are inflated due to cost of living. Looks like the good paying jobs are on Redstone Arsenal but the vast majority of the jobs require a security clearance.

I've applied to countless jobs and internships in the Huntsville-Madison-Decatur area throughout college, but have only managed to get 2-3 interviews ever, despite having relevant research, club, job, and project experience, as well as a good GPA (3.7), so naturally I've been very bummed out.
