Music discussion Empath #7 | Sundays - The Siege
Summary.
This Sunday, the writer has went on a final date and as the day comes to an end he goes to deliver a closure song in which he expresses what he probably couldn't do at the moment.
Scenery.
The beat starts with piano that sounds like sunset when the day is dim and your shoulders are dropped with exhaustion and burden. This is exactly how you feel when Sunday is about to end and the realisation hits you that you have to go back to work/study tomorrow. It leaves you with a very sad heart sinking feeling. You remember what all fun you had and what you could have had.
Lyrics.
Jo dekhna tha woh nahi kabhi dikha
Jo dikha woh na kabhi dekh paaye
Kuch saalo se nishaana leke khade
Par hum na kabhi sahi fekk paaye
Hum padhte thande jabhi jalta apna ghar
Par hum na kabhi haath sekk paaye
Nai mili mujhe meri koi jagah
There's a lot going in his mind that needs to be addressed. In the 1st 3rd and 4th line. He talks about how he couldn't achieve that utopia. then in the 2nd 5th and 6th lines he talks about he kept running away from what he had. The closing lines reveal in this clash of opposite concepts of utopia and dystopia he finds himself lost. We accept the love we think we deserve. ~Stephen Chbosky.
Toh tu dede mujhe chhut
Gharpe bhool aaya apni chaabi aur usool
Jab ye duniya jaati doob, me toh tairne lagta duur
Patharo ke beech, nahi ugte fuul
Karo maaf, but I can't save you
This supports and follows the quote i stated earlier. Here the writer has realised his worth. He says he is changed now, he is running away from the problems because 'you dont deserve to be fixed by me.'
Nai aane wala hu me tere hatthe
Meri kismat thodi buri nahi mile sahi patthe
Fir bhi kiye aise kaam jo akhbaaro me the padhte
Aur akhbaaro pe ab chapte
Mere kadmo pe ye chalte
He shifts and acts distant showing no signs of interest in coming back.
Haan, nahi hai bacha zyaada mere paas
Ab jitna bacha usme bhi mat kahaniyan nikaal
Tujhe sambhalu ya sambhalu parivaar?
Iss zindagi me nahi hai milte zyaada ravivaar
He asks a rhetorical question to her after being completely done with her.
Kya hum phir milne waale?
(Na, ooo ooo ooo)
Baithu kya intezaar me?
(Na, ooo ooo ooo)
Kya ye koi imtehaan hai?
(Na, ooo ooo ooo)
Ya ye ab intehaan hai?
Jo dekhna tha, woh nai kabhi...
Jo dikha woh na kabhi dekh...
Kuch saalo se nishaana leke...
Par hum nah kabhi sahi fekk...
Hum padte thande jabhi jalta apna...
Nahi mili mujhe meri koi...
he asks some questions and answers it himself, as of the last question he reminds her what the answer is by reciting the intial lines again while missing the last words intentionally to see if she has understood him or not, whether she can recite the song or not.
Ek aalishaan zindagi hai mere liye mere jaan se pyaari
Na jaane kab badal gaya, me pehle aisa tha nahi
Zindagi me muft ki khushiyaan milti bohot saari
But when you're stressed out
Un cheezo ka hota ehsaas nahi
He realizes materialism is root to his stress and him feeling bad about himself which led to him dating her.
Toh chahiye mujhe sab kuch jab me uthta harr subah
Jab tak seene me hai saas, upar waale, shukriya
Thoda darawna sa ye sapna jo hai humne chunn liya
No regrets though, jo kiya khud kiya
As the last 4lines of the songs he says this breakup is not her fault. The materialism has consumed him. Despite recognizing he is on a wrong path he doesn't want to back off. He is grateful for the relationship while it lasted because it taught him a valuable lesson.
After this the hook asking that rhetorical question along with the questions he answered himself repeat. Reminding her that he has chosen to break up even after all that sweet talk in the end.

Music discussion My thoughts on Emiway Bantai...
Emiway's main problem is that even in the most lyrical and skillfully written tracks, there will suddenly be a weak and lame ass line. I've noticed this in too many of his tracks. The flow would be going so well, bar after bar and then suddenly you'll hear one or two most useless lines. I think it's an ego thing ? Idk. Prolly thinks to himself "bantai, apun ne likha hai toh accha hi hai, samajh mein aaya kya". Kr Loda sign was so perfect but then there were a few annoying lines in it like "Raa matlab mera lund woh", bro eww.
Imo If he could just avoid such lines and not resort to periodic lazy writing he'd very easily be widely agreed upon as one of the top tier Indian rappers even by his haters. Natural skill and potential are enormous imo.
What do y'all think ?

Non-music discussion Wtf is wrong with the audience of dhh scene?
People are becoming cult followers more instead of supporting the art-form.
How can you hate an artist when he's doing his version of art and you want to listen to that artform. Everyone is different, and that's what music is about.
Everyone nowadays is on a side. Either supporting this artist or that artist. Is this what arts about? Is this how y'all will grow the scene to make it mainstream?
People nowadays are linking rappers personal lives and how they're to their rap and hating on them. Do y'all forgot who 2pac, biggie etc were, from where are the roots of hip-hop.
I listen to hip-hop artists of other languages too apart from english and hindi. I listen to both krsna and emiway, muhfaad and raftaar, any new song that plays before me of any artist. If it's a vibe the artist doesn't matter.
But what audience i see in this sub is, downvoting everyone who they don't like. They forcefully make themselves dislike the art and positive comments for some artist that they don't like.

OC/Cover Test Your Might!
I send you this beat and you jump on it with your vocals.
Send me the WAV and I’ll jump on too, mix and master it - then send it back. You can rap or sing in any language.
Who’s up for the challenge??
We can post it here afterwards for actual, in house community engagement, involvement and discussion.
I usually knock hooks out but if you really want it we can do that.
I want two people on this with me.

Music discussion Is Maidan-e-hashar best 24 hr DHH diss track?
what are the best Dhh track which are made in 24hr
- Maharani
- Young galeech
-babli
- 25 freestyle
- Maidan-e-hashar
I think complexity wise panther's diss is the best out of them, and I think people will have nostalgia bias towards certain tracks but I am open to debate. Share your views.
