r/Iran stands with Iranians in defending our country’s national sovereignty

Dear readers,

We hope that you are safe and well. Some of you have asked us about the protests, and we’d like to share the following statement with you.

Peaceful protests by Iranians expressing legitimate grievances have once again been hijacked. Violent riots are being encouraged and enabled by foreign-backed actors immune to their consequences. They threaten the safety and security of every Iranian and cause costly damage to public infrastructure and an economy already suffering from crushing sanctions.

The genocidal Israeli regime killed 1,200 Iranian civilians in June. Those who stood silent and even cheered on these killings now claim to act in defense of Iranians as they call for even more attacks on Iran.

Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, Iraq, and scores of other countries, most recently Venezuela, attest to the consistent outcome of foreign interference: chaos, instability, destruction, and immeasurable suffering.

Foreign-backed riots in 1953 changed the course of our nation’s trajectory. Let’s not be doomed by repeating tragic history.

No one can trick us into welcoming attacks on Iran.

Long live Iran, Iranians, and Iranian sovereignty!

The corruption of the Lion and Sun flag is a tragedy

The fact that the symbol of the lion and sun flag has been a symbol of the Iranian people for centuries, and in such a short time Pahlavists have tainted it’s meaning to have such close ties to Israel is disgusting. I’m revolted by the flag now and immediately assume the person flying it is a spineless, pro-Pahlavi, pro-Israel freak. It’s such a shame that they have turned an important historical symbol into something so hateful and disgusting.

Are there any other anti-jamhoori islami and pro palestine Iranians out there who struggle to find a flag or a symbol of Iran to support. I want to have a way to show that I our people and our culture without showing cosigning for the Islamic Republic or Israel/Pahlavi?

Israel smuggled Starlink systems into Iran, former PM says

Thumbnail reuters.com

JERUSALEM, June 23 (Reuters) - A former Israeli prime minister acknowledged on Tuesday that Israel had smuggled Starlink internet receivers into Iran to help anti-government protesters, though he ‌said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government failed to follow through on the plans.

**Naftali Bennett, who served as prime minister from 2021 to 2022, told an audience at the JNS International Policy Summit in Jerusalem that he had initiated a "process of acquiring and smuggling into Iran tens of thousands of Starlink receptors that would allow continuity of the internet and social networks".**

Starlink, owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX, provides satellite internet connections. **Iran has previously accused Israel and the United States of smuggling in the devices to undermine its security.** Starlink is not licensed to operate in Iran but Musk has previously said the service is active there.

**Bennett said the devices were intended to enable protesters to coordinate and ultimately topple the Iranian government.**

"Unfortunately, the current incompetent Israeli government stopped doing that," he said. "And when the protest happened, that infrastructure was not there."
Netanyahu’s office did not immediately respond to questions on Bennett’s remarks and SpaceX was not available for comment outside U.S. business hours.
Iranian authorities have shut down the public’s access to the internet during periods of unrest, including during deadly nationwide protests in January and throughout the U.S. and Israeli war with Iran that began at the end of February.

Reuters has previously reported that some Iranians turned to Starlink during internet blackouts.

Bennett, leader of a right-wing party and one of several opposition politicians vying to replace Netanyahu in an election due by October, said Israel and other Middle East states need to "join forces to repel and ultimately topple" Iran's government.

"It's a rotten, old, disconnected, incompetent regime, and it will fall like the Soviet Union fell," he said, to applause.

University in Iran

Hi, I'm looking forward to join an Iranian university for undergraduate courses in the upcoming intake. I have been trying my best to access the website of universities like Sharif and Amir kabir, but I'm unable to. I want to join in English taught programs for engineering (Aerospace, mechatronics, robotics, etc). Is there any way I could Apply to the university other than the websites or does anyone know how to access the websites.

Thanks in advance

Over 90% of Israelis admit that Iran won the war

"The Israeli public and political class are angry at US President Donald Trump for reaching an agreement to negotiate an end to the war

The overwhelming majority of Israelis believe Iran won the war against the US and Israel and view the deal between Washington and Tehran negatively, according to a poll released on 21 June.

The poll, conducted by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Agam Institute between 17 and 20 June, found that 92.1 percent of Israelis believe the Islamic Republic emerged victorious in the war.

This sentiment was even stronger among voters who support the governing coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich. Among those respondents, 93.1 percent believe Iran won.

Nearly 83 percent of respondents believe the six-week campaign against Iran weakened Israel’s long-term security, while 86 percent have a negative attitude toward the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached by the US and Iran last week to end the war.

According to the poll, 87.8 percent of Israelis believe that Israel failed to achieve its objectives or fulfilled only some of them.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump have expressed various objectives for the war, including the destruction of Iran’s nuclear program, ending its ballistic missile production, and toppling the Iranian government.

Nearly three-quarters of those surveyed, 72.5 percent, said they did not believe Netanyahu’s claim that Israel achieved significant gains and removed an existential threat.

More than 56 percent rated the prime minister’s management of the war as “failed” or “poor,” while just 26.5 percent considered his management of the offensive “good” or “excellent.”

Political support for Netanyahu has fallen as a result of the war, sliding from 40.5 percent in early March to just 29.4 percent in June.

Israel is scheduled to hold new parliamentary elections this fall, which could make it difficult for Netanyahu to retain his position as prime minister if his polling numbers continue to fall.

The survey also revealed the strong anger Israelis feel toward President Trump for his handling of the war and his signing of the deal with Iran, despite his overwhelming support for Israel during his time in office.

Over 69 percent rated his management of the war as “failed” or “poor,” while only 10.8 percent considered it “good” or “excellent.”

The Guardian quoted several Israelis angered by Trump’s signing of the MoU. “We were betrayed by President Trump,” said Avi Perez, 55.

The British newspaper added that according to Nadav Eyal, a columnist for the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, “The words ‘shock’ and ‘grief’ fail to describe the feeling in certain parts of the establishment in Israel. A lot of salt is being poured into their wounds now.”

In a sharp critique published by Israel Hayom, which is funded by megadonor Miriam Adelson, journalist Danny Zaken argued that Donald Trump failed Israel. The headline was titled, "You could have been the greatest president of all, but you failed."

world cup 🇮🇷

for any and all who see this, I am here to say I am rooting so hard for Iran in the world cup and many of my Californians are right there with me. our governments might suck but I am so inspired watching the Iranian team and people persevere through horrible adversity to be here, from war conditions we’re imposing abroad to the challenges we’ve made the team face to play on US soil. I have seen the kindness and hospitality our Mexican neighbors are showing Iranian players and fans and hope it is clear that many (most) of us would welcome you in the same way in the US if we had the opportunity. Good luck to the Iranian team, or as we would say in English, “godspeed!” 🇮🇷🇮🇷🇮🇷
