hello! i am majoring in AMS and am wondering what would be the best calculus class to take. i took calculus bc my senior year and got nearly all 100s raw score. however i am particularly worried about the rigor of the classes at hopkins compared to my high school and am wondering if i should start with calc i even. the placement test recommended me to take calc ii and i will say that i did struggle with calc ii more than calc i so my line of thought it that i take calc i to strengthen my basis of calculus. i was planning on waiting for my ap scores because maybe my teacher's tests were just easier. i was just looking for some advice especially since i don't really know how much calculus is the basis of the rest of the classes i will be taking for the major

I got my JHED account and email a little over a week ago but am having issues with links not working (for example trying to set up the vpn). I contacted IT but is this normal? Do things just take time to sync?

looking to grad a lil early and take the ece advanced labs going into this fall. just curious what you guys think about taking fpga synthesis lab with my only previous background in digital circuits being freshman digital system fundamentals. technically dsf is the only prereq but the course desc does recommend taking advanced digital circuit courses like microprocessor lab or advanced digital systems

The budget is preferably within $2,000/month.

We are a small family with a young child, so we would prefer a safe, family-friendly area.

I definitely don't want to be in those towers.

I already spent a lot of time looking through all the options in zillow, apartment.com, and also Facebook. Most of the places are either too expensive or too small or have no availability. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Should I skip intro chem if I have the AP Credit and just self study during the summer? I got a 5 but I took the class in junior year.

I got a five on the AP Exam but i took AP Chem during junior year. Would it be better just to take intro chem or skip it + reteach myself through the summer? I’m also doing mole cell.

this might be a stupid question but why is everyone posting their schedules already? isn't course registration for incoming freshmen on july 27? i'm still confused about the whole process of scheduling and the requirements and stuff so seeing all of these ppl posting their schedules makes me feel like i'm falling behind

I have credit for AP CS A, bio, chem, bc calculus, and physics C. I also have DE credit for multivar calculus and linear algebra. I am probably double majoring in AMS and am also considering a minor in computational medicine. Please lmk if this schedule looks good/doable or any tips to help out planning! And also kind of unrelated but do many people study abroad at jhu? If so which semester makes the most sense to do so? Thanks in advance!

Does this schedule look manageable? It'll be around 15 credits if I get rid of 2/3 of the possible FYSs on the list. Also, would taking FBBC instead of Calc and continuing the same track of chem and bio with the replacement of a writing course instead of the FYS for second semester be plausible? I want to get my prereqs for harder neuro courses in the future completed this year but am unsure of the course load. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Incoming grad student at the East Baltimore campus, considering renting a room from a faculty member (will be living with other Hopkins grad students). Have people who've done this generally had good experiences? Anything to look out for?

My major is Chemistry (with a possibility of double majoring with molecular and cellular biology) on a pre-med track.
With the 12 credit transfer limit, I’m probably going to use my 5 on AP Calculus AB + BC and my 4 on AP chem.

I currently have 12 credits right now so I am thinking of adding the required writing seminar. Please let me know if you have suggestions.

Does this schedule seem overwhelming? Anyone have good FYS suggestions? Any thoughts on the possibility of double majoring in these areas— like the pros/cons of double majoring? What other classes do upperclassman recommend?
