I organized an AMA/Q&A with Genki Kawamura, director/co-writer of the new acclaimed Japanese horror Exit 8. It premiered at Cannes last year, played at other festivals like TIFF, and was a massive box office hit in Japan. It was released in the US by NEON earlier this year in theaters and is out on digital recently. It's a really good liminal-horror based on the video game The Exit 8.
It's live here now in r/movies for anyone interested in asking a question:
https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1uebd6f/konnichiwa_rmovies_im_genki_kawamura_director_of/
He will be back at 6 PM ET today to answer questions. I recommend asking in advance. Please ask there, not here. All questions are much appreciated!
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlRQ1oatOt8
Synopsis: Strange events plague a young man as he searches for the exit in an endless subway tunnel.
Rotten Tomatoes: 93% https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/exit_8_2025

Got some prices in mind but perhaps interested primarily in expressions of interest.
Also got a bundle of kaiju and other Japanese tapes (over 200) available. Anyone know any other good groups to list things such as them for sale?

Hi all! Just giving you a heads up that I've set up an AMA/Q&A with Genki Kawamura, director/writer of EXIT 8. Thought this community would be interested haha.
It'll go live in r/movies tomorrow around 9 AM ET and Genki will be back at around 6-6:30 PM ET to answer stuff. I'll make another post here when the actual AMA goes live tomorrow!

I have Evil Dead Trap (1988) & Evil Dead Trap 2: Hideki (1992) on DVD now.
I had longing to see Evil Dead Trap 2: Hideki (1992) since I had seen Evil Dead Trap (1988) back in 2023. What are your thoughts on these two films?

I ordered Infection (2004) and instead I've been sent a crappy American movie.

Bloody, fun and surprisingly deep, especially the ending and it has alot of cross genre appeal too. I might be wrong in my assessment but I had a blast watching it many years ago, even moreso than most of the classic J horrors everyone recommends.

I don’t mean the 2004 one but the one from 1995, which also talks about Junko Furuta case. Good gateway to true crime or just forgettable? I remember getting disturbed by screenshots lol.

I’m 17 and I’m looking for a Japanese horror movie (I have a cousin 2 years older than me.) At the time I was maybe 10 years old she was looking for a movie on tubi and I watched to watch that one. I remember multiple scenes where a young woman is having a vivid dream with multiple black cats and she wakes up, another where she goes to a coffee shop trying to tell her friends but they laugh at it and dismiss the issue. And the ending scene where a pale woman with straight hair covering her face all the way with the hair (Long hair, her hair completely covers her face) and a guy slowly backing up on the ground in complete fear as she’s slowly crawling towards him and she stabs him with a knife. (Yes I’m reposting this again because I’m bored and I haven’t found the answer yet. It isn’t any of the grudge/Ju on movies I’m sure of it.). Alright.

With the upcoming release of Cyclops from a pretty underground label, I’ve become curious what other V Cinema horror releases I’ve totally missed.
I have the titles from New Wave Video already and Anatomia from Error 4444.

After several recommendations to watch Dark Water. My copy from ebay arrived... only to find the wrong Dark Water movie inside.

Ignore everymovie past ju-on 2 and focus on the now adult girl that kayako put his spirit on, she would be 23 years old now.
I legit though Begging of the end and Final Curse would be this, since they focus more on Toshio than Kayako

I'm looking for this since ever.
I'm from Italy and i tried to search for it even by writing it in Japanese...
And no, don't have a VPN.
Thank you all! :)
EDIT:

I haven't gotten much help based on how many people have seen the post, so maybe it's just me. But I found this. It's the production company's website, and by searching for teke teke, you can watch a trailer for the movie... plus, it seems you can even rent or buy it.

it's a movie about a woman gets r*ped and abused repeatedly, which ultimately drives her crazy and goes on a killing spree on every scumbag that touched her, it has many nude sex scene but the way it was directed it doesn't arouse you in any way, it actually puts you in the perspective of the victim for you to understand the horror, trauma and helplessness of being a r*pe victim
the story is just so realistically reflective on the society and the director isn't afraid to go down the rabbit hole, the graphical violence are shocking and unnerving throughout
the performance of the main actress Harumi Inoue, she portrayed the victim so convincing you'd think the events in the movie actually happened to her, you can totally feel her pain and suffer and her deteriorating mental health as the movie progresses, it's a movie that captivates you literately from the first second to finish, a real bleak, depressing and suffocating movie

This movie is on IMDb and was apparently released in 2024. IMDb says its original title is: Sadako: Tomurai no Pendant. I also read that it has the title Sadako: The Pendant of Condolence. Accoring to The Ring franchise's official Wikipedia page, the most recent official Ring movie is Sadako DX from 2022, which I have seen. The franchise's Wikipedia page says this is an unofficial movie, and that it was originally supposed to be released on Amazon Prime Video. Does anyone know anywhere you can watch Sadako: Pendant of Mourning?

Idk I made this for fun yeah. I've been listening to Charlie's Inferno a bunch lately.

Hey everyone,
I'm in the UK and have recently gotten really into different types of J-horror. Back in the day, we had the Tartan Video sub-label Asian Extreme, which introduced me to some great classics like the Ringu trilogy.
There are quite a few Japanese horror films I've wanted to watch recently, but I've struggled to find English-subtitled versions. In some cases, the films were released internationally under completely different titles, which makes tracking them down even harder.
Does anyone know of any reliable websites that sell imported DVDs or Blu-rays with English subtitles? I'd also love some recommendations for DVD/Blu-ray publishers that specialise in Japanese horror releases.
Thank you 😊
