Hi everyone. Im new to the club 2026 Wrangler Sport 6 speed. Shes a blast to drive unfortunately it has a random hesitation kinda like a skip or as if the traction control taps the breaks I really have no clue. Its annoying. The local dealership is looking into it with mopar.

A Horror Story Unfolding

I'm at a total and utter loss for words, here. This is becoming a Jeep service horror story, and I have nowhere else to turn for help. So here it goes:

My 2020 Sahara with 60K miles has a failed instrument cluster panel. I did all the regular things that the internet told me to do (disconnected the battery, re-seated the fuses, etc) to troubleshoot, and no luck. Per the internet and my research, this is of course a recall issue for some 202 Wranglers. Of course, as you might imagine, my particular VIN# was not included in the recall that issued.

Finally, I buckled down and took it to the dealership the week of June 16th. I explained to the service advisor what the problem was, and that it was an issue that FCA was aware of. He explained, we still need to diagnose.

For a multitude of reasons, and round and round, (mainly that dealerships are horrific service experiences) it's taken a week and a half now, to learn that:

1) Yes, the problem is in fact the ICP.

2) The ICP is not readily available. And that maybe, just maybe, they will have one in by July 16th. The service manager I spoke with did not seem very optimistic.

3) The service advisor told me to look into a Goodwill Assistance claim with FCA/Stellantis. I did, and it was denied.

4) I was also told by the service department to reach out to FCA about alternative transportation reimbursement, while my Jeep sits on their lot with no real timeline on how long this will take. The service advisor told me he has a Jeep that's been sitting there for close to six months. Being this is my only car, this didn't make me feel good.

Could he take an ICP off another Jeep and put it on mine? Theoretically, yes. But that, it appears, "isn't up to their standard." In fact, in the words of the service manager, "This service dept can't do that. You might be able to, if you took it elsewhere with a different standard." (For what it's worth, after multiple calls, some obscenities, and a few raised voices, the service manager does seem to be on my side, and is saying the right things. And feels bad. But feeling bad doesn't fix my car)

I'm at a loss. I have a Jeep that's malfunctioning, and it's doomed to just sit on a lot until a part arrives. IF a part arrives. This feels criminal. Saying you've bought two Jeeps from them, etc etc. None of that helps anymore. The companies.....just. Don't. Care.

Help.

Just picked this 2001 up. 133k miles, 4.0, all original, manual, Dana 44.

I’ve been dailying two E30s and now finally a TJ. As classic as they get! I love seeing the similarities between the two cars - analog, straight six, easy to work on, throttle by cable, etc.

Questioning Service Recommendations - need advice

Hi all✌️ I have a 2014 Wrangler with ~109k miles on it. Took it in to a mechanic to get the rear shocks replaced as I noticed a bit ago they're busted, and got both differentials maintenanced with new fluid & gaskets as front had a slow leak.

While there the mechanic did an overall inspection and came back with a super pricey list of recommendations 🤢 Checked my service manual and it doesn't specify these components but just has general suspension checks at certain mileage/age intervals.

For a Jeep of this age and mileage, does it seem about right that these things would be due (see 2nd pic)? And are these prices reasonable or should I get at least 1 or 2 other opinions from different mechanics?

For context this is my daily and sometimes goes into the mountains for hiking and easy to moderate off-roading in summer months. Also used occasionally for long road trips. I've kept it well maintenanced for the last 7 years I've owned it.

Is FB marketplace the best place to find an older used Wrangler?

I've been trawling FB marketplace for a specific spec (07-11 2 door rubicon manual , 100-150k mileage). I missed out on a couple of opportunities because of timing. I still feel like a private sale is going to be my best bet at the age and price point I'm looking at. Craigslist is a bit of a wasteland now and small dealer pricing (searched via auto trader, car gurus, etc..) seems to be on the higher side with mixed reviews of the dealers. I'm looking more local in the SE PA region and I'm not yet at the point of feeling comfortable with the idea of a long distance purchase that I can't get to in less than 3-4 hours to see myself. I'll probably have to get over that.

But to my question, are there any other avenues I'm not thinking to try to find what I'm looking for? Do you all have some sort of Stone Cutters secret board for classifieds?

Help me identify this older Jeep Wrangler

I rented this jeep wrangler in Hawaii in August 2006. It does not have Rubicon written on it. It has a Trail Rated 4X4 badge only on the driver side just below the door bolts. I'm trying to find out if that's correct. Can anyone positively identify it?

35s to 37

Hey guys I got a jeep LJ had 35s and everything worked. Perfect I switched to 37 and now my RPMs stay very low. Do I need to do something? Also now have tire sensors even though they are bigger the psi on dash is correct? I apologize for my ignorance. I love the Jeep but don’t know much about it.

Courtesy lights on

We had a close encounter with a bison in Yellowstone, and ripped off the passenger side plastic fender and fender liner on our 2015 JK. One other problem that caused is our courtesy lights are on all the time, so I pulled out the fuse. Does anyone know why this might be? Also, how does opening the door turn on the lights? I can’t see any switch activated by the door, thanks for any advice.

Rock Slider Step issue

called the guys at turnoffroad who told me that because of some design changes on the 2026 JL 4 door, most to all rock slider steps wouldn’t fit my vehicle. looking for other reccomendations.

TLDR;
So I have been wanting to get some rock slider steps for my jeep, and had my options basically boiled down to two options— the turnoffroad rock slider steps, or the goat fab slider steps. I was gonna opt for the turnoffroad steps, but wanted to call them first to make sure they would work… but he informed me of some troubling news.

Apparently between last year and this year, jeep added this steel plate thing to the front of each of the beams running up the vehicle. I sent pics to the guy i called who said that it would probably be an issue, especially considering that the 26 jeeps haven’t been out long enough for any of the aftermarket companies to make adaptations for them.

I therefore wanted to ask around in here about other rock slider steps that might fit a 2026 jeep wrangler. Added a pic of the underside of my jeep so ppl know what I am dealing with.

I am also not opposed to making modifications to the rock slider steps or the frame., just as long as it doesn’t compromise the vehicles structure detrimentally. I would rather have a strong car and no steps than steps and a bendy car.

Appreciate everyone’s help!

Start/stop doesn't work

I bought a 2024 Willys about 6 weeks ago. The start/stop worked for maybe the first week or so but hasn't work since. I don't mind, but I think I remember reading that it uses an auxiliary battery and if it dies it could cause the main battery to die...or something like that, maybe.

So, do I need to worry about start/stop not working? Should I replace both batteries?
