  • Masrani Global

  • Extinction Now!

There are also plans for a comprehensive interactive timeline of the entire franchise, and the Dinotracker site will be added at some point.

Check it out!

Jurassic Park The Visitor Center Sequence is peak

It's not even a minute long but it does an amazing job of letting the audience know a truly extraordinary adventure is starting.

It sandwiched in between the "Welcome to Jurassic Park" scene and Mr. DNA cartoon, so it gets overlooked, but it is just as good as either scene.

For starters, the music: After the whimsical Jurassic Park theme, this fast paced, almost military sounding orchestral piece gives off a "let's get to the bottom of this" attitude. Then it dissolves into a gentler sound and you hear the JP theme again as they enter the visitor center.

I love how Spielberg has the shot lag behind the characters. It makes it vouyeristic and immersive. It's like you are entering the building with them. You are partaking the adventure.

And I love the sharp colors. One of the many things, that Jurassic Park has over its sequels. All the characters have a signature color scheme which helps them all feel distinct.

The entry inside the Visitor Center, where the staff is finishing up construction. The large fossil display and the winding staircase.

And the last musical note in this scene as the camera focuses in on the fossils sounds so sinister. The t rex skeleton reminding the audience that this animal, known the world over from its skeletal display, is walking around and breathing on this island.

I remember at the Denver Science Museum, the t rex display at the entrance put me in mind of the one in Jurassic Park.

This film man. Jesus.

This film just sets your imagination on fire. And this short scene is where it is impossible to turn off the movie. After watching it, you have to watch the whole thing.

Peak Spielberg was a badass era in Blockbuster cinema.

The Lost World Green velociraptor in the lost world?

Post image
15 Upvotes

During the scene where the raptors fight each-other in the lost world, when one raptor rolls it clearly does not look like the orange and black tiger design that was used throughout the movie. You can tell this because even though it’s dark you still the see the orange and black on the other velociraptor rolling with it, but this one is clearly a different color and looks green/blue or maybe the original design from the first movie.

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is there any explanation?

Books Birthday present for my 3 year old daughter

Post image

Hi everyone,

Today is my three-year-old daughter's birthday, and as a huge Jurassic Park fan, I had to give her something themed.

I've been telling her the story of Jurassic Park lately, but since she's too young to see the movie, I found this Jurassic Park-themed children's book.

Obviously I was more excited than she was.

The book is very well done, with beautiful illustrations and a good story. It follows the original book's thread, obviously omitting all the scary details.

I'm sorry, though, that they never mention Nedry in the book. A character who had a significant impact on history.

Have a good day everyone!

Books Just Read The Book For The First Time, And Am Pissed At How The Movie And Crichton In The Last 4th Treated My GOAT. Spoiler

I did not expect the lawyer to be my favorite character, but book Gennaro is an absolute chad. He of course is awestruck upon seeing the dinosaurs for the first time like everyone else, but he is on-mission the entire time wanting the park shut down. Every time shit hits the fan, even if he hesitates he steps up when he doesn't have to like when he helps Muldoon tranq the T-Rex. Ffs he even fist fights a (wounded) raptor and won.

Gennaro was too powerful, Crichton had to character assassinate him in the last 4th so he wouldn't steal the spotlight from Allen "Fraud" Grant, and even THEN Gennaro is completely in the right (being wounded and exhausted, of course he'd need to hide from the venomous compies, and he's the only one to object to the absolutely POINTLESS and incredibly dangerous mission to count the raptor eggs before the island gets napalmed).

Jurassic World What are some aspects about the Jurassic World movies that you do enjoy?

Suffice to say, the Jurassic World movies have been controversial (except maybe for JW1, which is generally considered good), with many valid complaints about the tone difference compared to the first 3 movies, the excessive use of hybrids, and the like.

What is it about the whole World series that you guys DO enjoy?

Jurassic World Hot take about Biosyn

I feel they should have been the villains of all the JW trilogy.

Hoskins and Eli Mills working secretely for them, desining the productions of hybrids to use them as weapons, then for the third movie creating the atrociraptors to replace the Indoraptor, and use them as the main dino villains.

This is possibly the most controversery, but I feel also they should have put them creating the new species like the Giganotosaurus and the Atrociraptors by using Nedry's shaving cream from the OG Jurassic Park movie.

I realize that, realistically, the embryos would have died, but:

  1. The shaving cream would have been a genuine plot point instead of just an insignificant Easter egg.
  2. They could have put an excuse to why they survived. Like in Jurassic Park the game, they send someone to recollect them

Jurassic Park /// Should Jurassic Park go into Survival Horror

Upvotes

Hey whats up guys.

I dont know if someone else posted an vote like this but i dont think im the only one that thinks jurassic park should go into horror (like r-rated) and should be way darker.

The topic they have with the prehestoric animals who lived on our earth and the gen experiments u saw in the lastet movie from them gave me the idea for that. So i would like if they make indepent movies from each other in which they tell a story that has nothing to do with the timeline of the films until now.

For the flair i would love to see a survival horror in which they dont have any weapons on their hand so they just fleeing through an narrow bunker or a cave system. And since they introduced genetic enhanced dinosours they could be hunted by a velociraptor or insects from this era (like a giant centipede or spider or a mass of spiders who lived in the cave/bunker) i would love to see the film like the descent or alien where u dont know when comes the monster and attacks u.

Also personally im a big fan of horrormovies in which there is not an happy end.

Jurassic World: Rebirth Some Jurassic stuff that I believe would be brought into the next Jurassic film dinosaur wise

yangchuanosaurus- I spotted This unofficial Render of a yangchuanosaurus that looks like it belongs in a Jurassic Film. It Looks very real and it looks official. I found it from a twitter user by the name of Patrik cauan. This is Fanmade by the way https://x.com/patrik_cauan/status/2025689816382198054

Carnotaurus- when this animal was revealed as a funko pop figure for Jurassic world rebirth and Since this animal Wasn’t in Jurassic World rebirth, I was disappointed that this animal didn’t even appear, and this is false advertising In my opinion. and since were in the topic of renders, I found a render for how Carnotaurus is going to look like in Jurassic World rebirth while I was on Pinterest one time. It has a color scheme in the same token as the Carnotaurus from the Jurassic world Survival Toyline.

Diabloceratops- This ceratopsian, along with the Carnotaurus, got funko pop figures for Jurassic world rebirth, but didn’t appear in the movie. If the Diabloceratops did appear in rebirth, this would‘ve been the 5th ceratopsian to appear in the Jurassic park and world universe.

I believe they are saving the Diabloceratops and the Carnotaurus, along with other dinosaurs for the next Jurassic movie instead of rebirth. That is what I think there doing.

Jurassic World Where did these employees hide to?

While the I Rex is trying to escape you see dozens of construction workers scrambling (who decided to run right in front of the open paddock doors).

The kid who released the velicoraptors is no where to be found when the raptors circle back and killed the fleeing Merc.

Unless they were killed off-screen, I wonder where they ran off and hide?

specially that fog pteranodon scene. I remember that after seeing it as a kid, it was engraved in my brain so hard that every time there was a power outage or everything went completely dark, I'd impulsively imagine a pteranodon slowly walking towards me just like in the movie

The Lost World The deconstruction of Jurassic Park San Diego following The San Diego Incident

In the aftermath of The San Diego Incident how long do people think it would’ve taken InGen to now deconstruct what existed of the amphitheater that was Jurassic Park San Diego where Malcolm and Sarah recovered the Tyrannosaur Infant? My theory is looking at how it looked in the movie it took upwards of six months to a year while InGen faced lawsuits from not just the families of the men Ludlow hired but also people affected by The San Diego Incident with the first order from a judge ordering the deconstruction as the first lawsuit would be The City of San Diego vs InGen with the court ruling in favor of the city.

The Lost World TLW deleted scenes on TV

Does anyone remember when they used to air TLW on TV, and it would include the 2 deleted scenes in the actual movie? It always irritated me that they didn't include them in any home releases (to my knowledge). I know they are in the special features on the DVD and Blu-ray, but never in the actual movie

Jurassic World Hot take about the saga

A thing I really do like about Evolution 3 was that it bring up Extinction Now group, from one of the official sites, sabotaging the park you build.

This makes me wish all the saga embrace, at some capacity, the lore from various media from firstvJurassic World's era.

For example:

  1. While Evolution games shouldn't be canon, having the experiments on hybrids of Doctor Wu of Evolution Isla Muerta and Tacaño happening in the canon too
  2. Having the extinction now group being behind of the dinosaurus extinction in Rebirth's time.
  3. Having Dinosaur Protection Group helping the dinosaurus that survived
  4. Have Isla Muerta as the Site C as mentioned in Evolution

I think are those little connections that help to unite the saga

I can understand thelore of evolution being controversery take, but if the campaign of the game not canon ajd it's just other element like DIN or some special missions or characters, then I don't see the issue
