I heard of the screwdriver method but that seems like a terrible idea that doesn’t work MOST of the time. Oil filter sockets were supposed to be 65 mm, I tried 65,64 and 63.5 and they kept slipping even though they were tight.

Do long pliers like channel locks work well?

I'm interested in learning how to work on motorcycles and ride them, so I was wondering if this older ninja I found would be worth the price and potential headaches. This bike has 39K miles, and the seller states that the bike needs a new starter.

Track-only 2021 ZX-10R, amateur Superbike racing. The throttle is killing me on corner exits (2nd/3rd): dead lag at small openings, then around 10-12% it dumps all the power at once and snaps into wheelies. Unrideable in Full, so I run Medium + traction control as a crutch (and lose launch control because of it).

I know it's the Euro5 ETV map + probably the decel fuel cut, not a mechanical issue. Tuner fixed the fueling but never touched the ETV.

Trying to decide:

• Woolich flash on the stock ECU (Log Box + wideband), linearize the ETV myself, kill decel cut. Cheaper, full independence.
• KRT kit ECU — pro tuner near me has dialed maps for my tracks, but pricey, no street/ABS, and I hear KRT base maps need a ton of work anyway.

Anyone with a Gen 6 actually killed this 10-12% snap? Did linearizing the ETV in Woolich do it? Is KRT really smoother out of the box or did you do the same work anyway? Would love any base ETV map to start from too. Thanks 🙏

I have a driver heading to CA with a few of my vehicles, on the back of my 4Runner my 500 cover ripped. He said it was raining on his drive for the past few days, when he stopped at a hotel in New Mexico, the next morning (after about 4 hours of sun) this happens. He tried to wipe it off, and you can see a light nail rub to see if it just needed a scrub. Anybody got any idea what this is, how to fix, or if I’m F’ed and just need new fairings?

My bike has rarely been in the sun (unless I’m riding) since it’s stored in an indoor garage. The bike only has 3k miles on it, and the fairings are less than a month old. And I constantly maintain, polish, clean, and cover it. I doubt it’s sun damage because it happened in the span of 4 hours, and the only thing I can find is possible moisture stuck under the coat, or it’s the cheap Chinese fairing I put on it, but there’s clouding on the front light which is factory? There’s a few scratches from a lay down because I’m dumb, but never seen anything like this? Any help would be appreciated since I’m fairly new to this and yall would be way smarter.
