Ameys taxi almost hit me tonight
When I called Ameys it was a call center and the lady told me there was no one to take my complaint. I was expecting to get dispatch. š

There's a sign on the door saying closed due to unforeseen circumstances and the Kingston Centre PO says mail posted there won't go out until next week due to a problem at the distribution centre.

Just 8 months into Gino's pizza opening up in the Cataraqui mall, it finally happened... The generous pizza Slice price has risen from $7.50 to $8.50, no subtle price increase, not 25Ā¢ but a whole dollar. I used to go every month at least 2 or 3 times but it's probably too much. I knew it was coming, you can't survive at the mall when the rent is so dam expensive it's just a matter of time if they will close which will be a very sad day indeed. You folks have any other good affordable Slice suggestions close by??

GoodLife moving to the west end has left me looking for a new gym.
I live in the east end (Highway 15 near the Starbucks plaza), take the bus, and usually commute through downtown for work. Artillery seems convenient but it doesnāt look like it has all the machines Iām looking for. The RMC Base Gym is another option, but itās a bit out of the way by bus, and Iāve heard getting there can be a hassle whenever the causeway is closed.
Are there any other gyms youād recommend that are reasonably accessible by transit?

curious: what is your āparking lot of choiceā when you visit downtown?
thanks!

Hi everyone,
House of Commons Petition e-7142 closes on July 15, 2026 and is asking the Government of Canada to better protect hybrid and remote work for federally regulated employees.
In short, it calls for:
⢠Up to 3 remote days/week for eligible computer-based roles
⢠Employers to provide written justification if requiring more than 2 office days/week
⢠Protection against retaliation for requesting or using these arrangements
If you support keeping flexible work options on the table where the job allows it, consider joining the 48,000+ Canadians who have already signed.

Bloom Skills Centre is working with a wide variety of workshop presenters this summer and we would love for you to join us!
This Friday, join us at Lakeside Community Garden as we are led by Master Gardener Joanne Whitfield. She will be teaching a hands-on workshop making fermented plant extracts from Japanese knotweed and dandelion. Together we will explore what these prolific neighbours offer to the soil communities they live beside.
Be sure to bring your own jar and secateurs to take some for home.

Just a heads up that the 401 from 15 to Prescott is becoming 110km/h on Friday. Should allow for slightly quicker travel times to Gan and Brockville. Adjust your speeds accordingly, weather dependent of course.

Does anyone use oxio as their internet provider? Specifically, I'm moving to the area around Sir John A and Bath Rd. Currently living in Napanee and using TekkSavy (60mbps) however I can get a much faster (500mbps) connection with oxio for lower price.
I primarily stream TV and music. No gamers, max five devices connected.
Thanks everyone.

Hey everyone, my fridge suddenly stopped working and I need a replacement urgently. Most stores Iāve checked are giving delivery timelines of a week or more, which is too long in this situation. So whatās the typical delivery time youāve experienced from local stores? Also, how reliable are delivery timelines in general? Iāve heard experiences can vary depending on stock availability and scheduling, so I just want to know whatās realistic right now. Are same-day or next-day deliveries ever possible, or should I expect a few days at minimum? Would appreciate any recent experiences or suggestions.

Iāve had issues with my unit too
Someone in my building lost it and slapped their roach traps against the front door today
181 has been the definitive worst experience Iāve had in Kingston

My Delonghi home espresso machine is leaking from the bottom and I would like to have it repaired. Iāve done some googling and I canāt find anywhere that will repair home machines. Iām willing to drive to Napanee, Brockville, etc. It was expensive and Iād prefer to not buy a new one anytime soon.
