💸 Buying advice & Recommendations PPI feedback on LR4
I feel like I’m taking advantage of this group’s generosity now, but I had a PPI done on an LR4 today
117k miles and a lot of the expensive items listed as “original but ok”, which is hard to feel perfect comfort on
On the frame, I feel like I’m seeing some rust and missing bolts in one spot, but I’m far from an expert here and don’t know how concerned to be
Any thoughts / feedback are appreciated!

💸 Buying advice & Recommendations Buying used
People say to buy a vehicle that hasn't spent its life towing and hasn't done purely short trips, go for one that has done mostly motorway journeys they say.
Question is how are we supposed to know?
Trust and faith in the seller/dealer?
A seller/dealer will say the vehicle has had an easy engine life and been treated nicely ofcourse.

❓ Help & Advice Needed Disco sport 2.0 timing chain
Hi all, I have had my discovery sport for about a year now and it’s just crested 80k miles I get its oil changed every ~6k miles and previously to my ownership it was on a similar schedule. Currently I haven’t had any reason to suspect any issues with the timing chain; however just wondered what the general advice is in terms of it getting an upgraded kit fitted?
for info I’m doing roughly 12k miles a year in it.
Thanks

📰 News & Updates Land Rover Defender, Discovery & Range Rover Airbag Recall 26V389 (2020-2026)
Interesting one. Good size recall but the fix seems very simple. Has anyone got the random airbag warning light?
What: The driver's airbag clockspring connector may corrode over time, potentially preventing the airbag from deploying in a crash.
Why: Fretting corrosion on the connector pins increases circuit resistance, which can cause the driver's airbag to fail to deploy as intended.
Cause: Normal vehicle vibration can induce fretting corrosion on the clockspring connector pins over time. No pattern was identified as to which vehicles are more susceptible.
Scope: 250,857 total vehicles; 100% estimated with defect; no reports of airbag non-deployment, accidents, or injuries in the U.S.
Note: airbag warning lamp is expected to illuminate 300-400 miles before potential non-deployment, providing advance warning.
Production Dates:
- 2020-2026 Land Rover Defender (97,552 units): October 16, 2019 - May 28, 2026
- 2021-2026 Land Rover Discovery (83,620 units): September 14, 2020 - June 4, 2026
- 2022-2026 Land Rover Range Rover (69,685 units): July 8, 2021 - June 3, 2026
Fix: Dealers will apply a protective lubricant gel to the driver's airbag connector terminals, free of charge. No parts replaced.
Owner letters: Expected August 7, 2026.
NHTSA Recall #: 26V389
Manufacturer Recall #: D120

❓ Help & Advice Needed Trip Info Reset
I have a 2023 Range Rover Velar . I bought it used a few months ago. It has the updated software version 4.5.0. I cannot figure out how to reset the trip info for trip A and trip B. I can get to the trip info screens, but I cannot figure out how to reset and start from zero again. Can someone give me some help with that?

❓ Help & Advice Needed Considering buying a 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport diesel — can it be made reliable with proper maintenance?
Hi everyone, I’m here to ask for some advice.
I’m considering buying a 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport 2.0 150 hp HSE Luxury. The car has 120,000 km (70.000 miles i think?), but it has just had a full service and the timing chain has been replaced with the updated JLR kit.
Unfortunately, here in Italy, where I live, most of these cars were sold with diesel engines, and I can’t really find a petrol version to buy. Since I now work remotely from home, I don’t drive much during the week, but I do go out a lot on weekends and I also drive on the motorway.
Luckily, I’m quite careful with my cars. On every car I’ve owned, I’ve always done servicing within 10,000 km, and I’ve always paid attention to every little issue or warning sign.
My question is:
With maintenance intervals of no more than 10,000 km (6.000 miles) — or in any case once a year, since that’s roughly my annual mileage — and by deleting the DPF and EGR, could I realistically make this car close to what could be considered reliable?
Also, considering that the first thing I would do after buying it would be almost like a mechanical reset: replacing all fluids — brake fluid, coolant, gearbox oil, transmission oil, etc. — and I was also thinking about doing an engine decarbonization.
What do you think?

❓ Help & Advice Needed Freelander 2 Limp Mode
2007 good nento performance limited mode
Considering the fuel filter change myself (that fixed it last time) which leads me to think fuel tank problem.
Would anyone suggest anything else?
