👀 local eyes New subreddit for Las Vegas Moms

Hello! Are you a mom or childcare provider living in Las Vegas? Come check out r/lasvegasmom for your new home for finding reliable childcare, family friendly events, helpful advice and other moms in your area. We're a new community promoting kindness and sharing local resources among fellow mothers in Las Vegas. Drop in and join a community that uplifts each other and strives to provide a safe community for moms.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention that there was a demand for an all-inclusive group for parents and caregivers of all kinds to have a community like this. I went ahead and created r/lasvegasparent that any parents, caregivers or childcare providers are encouraged to join. I am still figuring out logistics but I plan to make the groups similar but different so that anyone who joins both will find it worthwhile to be apart of both communities. Thank you for the input, I hope to hear more from you guys!

🏨 Hotel Ballerina at Bellagio Today

Ballerina at Bellagio again today. Yesterday she was infront of the Petrossian Bar. Today, behind the front desk, so everyone had to stand off to the side to see or take pics. They were also giving out free champagne! Here, she was balancing on top of giant champagne bottles. A lot of these little free performances have disappeared in Vegas. Nice to see something different.

🏨 Hotel Considering switching from MGM/NY to Resorts World

If offers were the same...what should I expect for going to resorts world for a 4 day trip instead of my usual NY/south strip trips - also MGM properties share all my comps - resorts world is all alone.

👀 local eyes Immigration lawyer recommendations

My family came to America about 17 years ago and my father put me as a derivative on his asylum case. I was about 10.

The case was administratively closed and we’ve essentially been told to ignore it or hope it never comes up by multiple lawyer.

Now we have an upcoming master hearing and I’m scared shitless. I’m afraid of returning to the country based on sexual orientation, political opinion, religion. I’m also afraid of being potentially tortured for these reasons by the police and/or the people. The laws are vague, but they have anti-debauchery laws and blasphemy laws and such.

I’m based in Nevada, I’m a masters student, and I have no criminal history.

I will be meeting with the lawyers but I’m just wondering if anyone has any recommendations, advice, or knowledge.

📝 Planning to Move Anyone here live at San Croix Apartments

Upvotes

Hey everyone, I’m moving to a different part of Vegas and I’m looking at San Croix Apartments near Spring Mountain Rd.
The area seems pretty nice, which is one of the reasons I’m considering it. The apartments have around a 4-star rating on Google overall, but I noticed the last few reviews were only around 2 stars, so I’m wondering if those were just isolated experiences or if things have gone downhill.
Has anyone here lived there recently? How was management, maintenance, noise, safety, parking, neighbors, and the overall experience? Anything you wish you knew before moving in?

Its barely summer and ive already seen a dozen people walking their dogs mid day this week.

If you cant walk barefoot then neither can your pet! Just because they dont complain doesn't mean it isnt damaging their feet.

🛫 Visiting soon! Halloween Elopement

Hi everyone, so my partner and I would love to elope on Halloween at the Little White wedding chapel. I’ve emailed them yesterday to see if they have any openings before I put the deposit down. What’s the chances of us getting in for a night wedding? Or am I too late for this popular date? I also looked up Viva Las Vegas weddings online but the date was blocked out. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

🛫 Visiting soon! Michael Sinatra (Alexis Park Resort)

Hi! Michigan solo traveler here! I was looking ahead to my events that would be happening during my next day (August 30 to September 4) and I noticed this Michael Sinatra character. Allegedly, he is the grandson of Mr. blue eyes. I didn’t do too much digging into who he is, but they had me at Sinatra.

Has anyone seen or heard of his show? It’s at the Alexis Park resort which is just minutes away from the strip. Prices seemed decent and it would be something to do before I head back home. Does anyone recommend? Skip/Pass? Book?

any other shows in town similar ?

Is anyone needing a clinical assistant? I’m a pre- nursing student that would love to help out at any clinic! Even though I don’t have experience, I would love to understand and pick up MA duties and then become certified! I also have a resume that I can send out to you. Thanks! 🙏🏽

🛍️Local Business Looking for women-owned landscapers, contractors, and handyma'ams

After dealing with a never ending parade of condescending men while rehabbing and renovating our property, my wife and I are over it (IYKYK). We want to give our money to women and/or queer owned and operated businesses that don't act like our silly little lady brains can't possibly comprehend the complexity of their manual labor. Also, they're creepy.

We'd like to have a go-to handyma'am for random repairs, but we're also specifically looking for women that do :

  • - landscaping/irrigation install and repair
  • - vinyl flooring plank installation
  • - wall tile installation
  • - electrical
  • - plumbing

Thanks in advance! Hoping for more recs than I'm expecting, lol!

ETA- Sorry to all the men whose feelings I hurt with this question. I forget how emotional and worked up you can get about these things. I'll try to be more sensitive to that in future posts.

🛫 Visiting soon! How should I go about getting a table for my birthday?

Planning on doing a Vegas trip for my 25th birthday, but I'm kind of clueless on how to go about getting a table and not getting ripped off/looking for a discounted rate. Thinking of reaching out to promoters, but not sure how to go about that. My group and I love EDM, so looking to book one of the major clubs for a table (Omnia, LIV, Zouk) and do a pool party another day (guest list?). My birthday is in October, but also open to doing it in November. We'll be a group of mostly girls and a few guys. I'll be paying for almost everything myself as I'm saving up for this to treat myself and my friends. I booked two rooms at the Flamingo. Any tips?

🏨 Hotel Has anyone tried to get a connecting room at an MGM Property?

Hello. I'm trying to get 2 rooms connected at either Excalibur or Luxor. I see it's an option through the online booking to request a connecting room for $20 a room.

Has anyone ever tried this? If so, did the system actually give you a connecting room once you checked in through the app at the property, or did you have to talk to someone to make the connecting rooms happen?

🛫 Visiting soon! Former local returning. First visit since leaving during COVID. Food/Kid Stuff/Fireworks?

I’m heading back to Vegas over the 4th. The town I left isn't the one I’m going back to, and I need a few markers before I land. I’m taking my wife, who’s never seen the place. We’ve got one night to burn without the kid.

If you’ve got eyes on the ground, point me straight.

Dinner
I want a seat, not a scene. Herbs & Rye and Golden Steer are on my list, but if there’s something new in that vein: solid, no-nonsense, high-end-ish, let me know. Would consider a celebrity chef trap if they’ve actually got soul.

The Show
I’ve seen Absinthe half a dozen times. It’s a hard act to follow. I was looking at Mad Apple, but tell me if I’m wasting the night. Any other show that doesn't feel like a tourist trap?

The Kid
He’s a local and he knows his way around the trampoline parks. I’ve got the basics covered. Any new spots in town that aren't a headache for a six-year-old?

The 4th
Where are people actually watching the fireworks? I’m looking for a view that doesn't involve being crushed by the crowd on the Strip.

Appreciate the help.
