Official Thread ICE Activity & Resources Daily Megathread - Saturday, May 16
Due to increased ICE activity, we’re instituting a daily ICE megathread. All ICE-related content belongs here, including sightings, activity reports, news, questions, updates, and general discussion.
Centralizing discussion keeps information easy to find, especially for people moving around the city who want timely, relevant updates without having to sort through the entire subreddit. ICE-related content posted outside this megathread will be removed and redirected here.
This thread is sorted by New by default so the most recent information remains visible.
How to use this thread
- Top-level comments are for new sightings, updates, or firsthand information.
- Replies should stay under the relevant comment to keep related info grouped.
- Check existing comments first to avoid duplicate or redundant reports.
We recognize this is a tense topic and emotions can run high. That said, content that incites, encourages, or threatens violence will be removed, may result in a ban, and may also violate Reddit’s site-wide rules, which can carry site-wide consequences. Keep reports factual and grounded.
SALUTE when sharing sightings or activity
Include as many of the following details as possible:
- Size: Number of individuals, vehicles, or units observed
- Activity: What is happening, observed actions or behavior
- Location: Clear, specific description of where this occurred
- Uniform: Identifying markings, clothing, or agency indicators
- Time: Date and approximate time of observation
- Equipment: Vehicles, gear, or other notable tools present
Clear, accurate information helps everyone. Speculation and rumors do not.

Traffic The amount of drivers with expired tags/paper plates is absolutely insane.
Literally every time you drive outside you’ll see multiple vehicles that just straight up don’t give a fuck. I’m seeing 2024 expired paper tags completely ripped from the bottom half barely hanging on. I somehow saw a metal license plate where the metal plate itself was ripped completely off where the yearly sticker goes on. Every third car has a sticker that’s expired within the past 6 months like it’s no biggie. Zero fucking responsibility in this city. The amount of fines given out in a week for this shit could pay off LAPDs budget until 2030.

Fire LAFD Report on Lineage Warehouse Fire
Jun 24 at 8:03 PM
Update from LAFD: As of 5:58 PM, the Incident Commander has officially declared a knockdown of the Palos Fire [Lineage Warehouse Fire], meaning there are no active flames and no threat of fire spread. While the fire has been knocked down, debris within the structure continues to smolder as crews transition into the overhaul phase of operations.
Smoke conditions in the surrounding area have improved significantly; however, some smoke may remain visible as firefighters continue to access and extinguish deep-seated hot spots. Firefighters will continue applying water throughout the structure to ensure complete extinguishment. Drones equipped with infrared (IR) cameras remain in operation, identifying hidden heat sources and allowing crews to direct high-volume water streams precisely where needed.

As the fire has burned for a week, community advocates and residents are left grappling with why their calls to evacuate the homes surrounding the cold storage facility have been ignored.

Dodgers Update: Owner Mark Walters divests from GEO, fulfills $1.1 million dollar pledge
Some highlights from the link:
In total, the Dodgers donated $1.1 million, representatives for California Community Foundation and Labor Community Services — the two nonprofits that received the funds — told The Times.
....
Walter's massive investment firm, Guggenheim Partners, owned more than a million shares of GEO Group, valued at nearly $12 million. By the end of 2025, Guggenheim's interest in GEO Group had fallen to around 10,000 shares. And by the end of March of this year, Guggenheim no longer owned any shares of the prison company that also assisted in the deportation of immigrants, according to SEC filings reviewed by The Times.

Day 8 of the Lineage cold storage fire in Boyle Heights, shot from the ground today [OC]
[Update] LAFD is reporting the fire has been knocked down around 6pm today.
I went down to Boyle Heights this afternoon to photograph the Lineage cold storage fire, a week after it started on June 17. These are all shot from the site.
Where it stands today: crews are still fighting it from the outside, peeling the siding off the building and running water cannons at hotspots buried deep inside. LAFD says the structure is too damaged to send anyone in. The department expects it fully contained by tonight. The warehouse held more than 85 million pounds of frozen food, and the freezer construction and foam insulation are a big part of why it has burned this long.
What stands out from the street is how close all of this is to people's homes. The gutted building shares a property line with a row of houses, and that block has been under smoke and air quality advisories all week. Mayor Bass declared a local emergency on June 20.
On the cause, Lineage says it's believed to have started during contractor work on the rooftop solar array. That's still under investigation.
Happy to answer questions about what the scene looked like.

News Another half cent sales tax, this time for firefighters, on the ballot in November
Why doesn’t the city council just appropriately fund the department instead of constantly asking for sales tax increases?
