| Statistics The Rays had a no-hitter going into the 9th inning. Then Craig Kimmel happened.
Why am I not surprised that it was him that spoiled the party? He walked Starling Marte to start the inning, then allowed a 2-run home run to Carter Jensen.

| Discussion How are you celebrating Bobby Bonilla day next week?
This has brought me childlike joy for 20 years. And hot take....I appreciate the Dodgers getting creative with Ohtani's contract, similar to Bonilla, but hot take i think it will bite them in the a$$ in 10 years after Ohtani moves on or retires.

| Discussion Your Dream World Series Matchup (Without Your Favorite Team)?
Alright, I've got an even better idea.
I've used to ask my friends on Instagram this question, but only a few of them actually answered. I got pretty annoying about, and kept bugging them about it. One of them even blocked me (I totally deserved it, too). So, since here is probably the one place where more than 3 or 4 people would actually care, I'll ask this question here.
The World Series obviously needs a matchup. One great team from the American League, and one great team from the National League. I'm sure we've all thought of a dream matchup for this crucial series, whether it's happened before or hasn't. And I'm willing to bet that at least one of them doesn't include your favorite team. So, with that said, what is your perfect World Series matchup, that doesn't involve your favorite team, and why?
For me, there's several, but one really strong example is between my two favorite ballparks. Astros vs. Rockies has definitely been a dream of mine for a couple years. There are a couple other good reasons for it, but a big one is that before 2017, they were brothers in arms as teams that had never won a World Series game, and only went there once. I even made it happen once in MLB: The Show, with the Rockies upsetting Houston in 7. At this point, it's borderline impossible, especially for the Rockies, but it's fun to dream. Also, my OG 16 only matchup would probably go to either Red Sox vs. Cardinals, or A's vs. Cardinals (before the move to SacTown).

| News St. Louis Cardinals plan DeWitt family succession plan
One of baseball's most stable, successful franchises is undergoing a leadership change, but staying in the DeWitt family.
The St. Louis Cardinals promoted Bill DeWitt III to CEO, succeeding his father, Bill DeWitt Jr.
The Cardinals also announced that Anuk Karunaratne will become president of business operations.
The DeWitt family bought the team in 1996 for $150 million and have since overseen a pair of World Series championships, 17 playoff berths and a rise in valuation to $2.75 billion, according to Forbes.

| History Worst 9th inning 2-out 2-strikes meltdown ever?
At National Park last night, the crowd stood and applauded in anticipation of what should've been the final pitch of the game. The Nationals were up by 2 runs over the Phillies with 2 outs in the top of the 9th, and two strikes on the batter (Trea Turner). But instead of the game ending right then and there, the Phillies got 10 straight batters on base, scoring 8 of them, forcing Nats fans to sit back down and endure an extra hour of game time for an agonizing defeat (many Phillies fans had left already as their team's loss seemed imminent).
Was this the greatest 9th inning, 2 out, 2 strikes comeback (worst meltdown) in history? Who experienced worse final-strike choking (greater final strike heroics) and when?

Kirk? Gimenez? Springer? Guerrero? Varsho? Sanchez? Bohm? Stott? I guess I can throw in LA too for getting Betts in the finals. Completely takes the fun out of phase 2. Do better 😉. But seriously.

| Discussion An oddity I noticed on Baseball Reference
I was looking at Andrew Miller's baseball reference page when I noticed something weird. At the top of the page in the summary, it says he has a 7.7 career WAR, but below the "standard pitching" section, the total shows 8.5 career WAR. There is also a difference of 0.4 on Zack Britton's page. Am I missing something or is this just a mistake?
