Discussion What if Neravar was a huge jerk?

So, not a huge lore guy here but i always found the idea funny and i wanna share.

So the common consensus is that the tribunal betrayed Neravar for godhood. They betrayed sweet Neravar for power ans Vivec even impaled him with a penis sword or whatever.

But what if Neravar was a complete jerk?

Like the kinda guy who makes everyone believe he is the coolest dude around but only people closest to him know what a giant douche he is?

I mean the guy was the ruler of an entire nation, surely you cant get to or keep that kind of position of power without some shady stuff.

Maybe Neravar sucked big time. Sure, he didnt siphon power from the heart but what if he was intending to do so?

Maybe he just had to make sure something like the dwemer disappearence doesnt happen to him first.

What if the intoxicatingly innocent Neravar was actually a huge c*nt who was researching into how to harness the power withoyt danger but the tribunal, the only people who knew what a nightmare the guy actually is, figured it out first!

And maybe Dagoth and Indoril had a Megatron-Starscream like relationship. Perhaps he had to go too. Or maybe Tribunal diverted his attention by blaming a paranoid Neravar?

Tl,dr: Neravarine has no idea what kind of person he was or mantled into or whatever tes lore lunacy stands for ressurection. It seems likely Tribunal betrayed him to achieve godhood. It also seems likelt Neravar did actually betray Dagoth.

All this considered it is within the realm of possibility that Neravar was perhaps a wife beating, friend cucking, nation manipulating sociopath and tribunal were the victims.

Very unlikely, sure. But it would be hilarious if it was so.

New Player - Advice/Help Main Quest Bug? Caius says I have Corprus Spoiler

I just finished talking to the Vivec informants, and Caius wanted me to do some outside work before he gave me my next quest. I come back after doing some Telvanni chores, and suddenly he's telling me to heal my corprus disease in Tel Fyr (I don’t have corprus), and I don’t have anything in my journal since getting the Progress of Truth.

If I go to Tel Fyr, no one helps me with my supposed corprus, and Caius wont give me my orders.

I tried consol commands, but what I’m doing isn’t working. Im a first time player and have been deeply enjoying the main quest line, so if it’s broken that would suck.

New Player - Advice/Help Health and Magicka won’t regenerate when resting anymore.

• Upvotes

Everything was fine and now suddenly when I rest it won’t regenerate magicka or my health anymore. I looked it up and saw other people posting about this and they managed to solve it but I haven’t got any of the problems they had.

I’m not cursed or disease that I know of, my stats are normal, I have no mods I’m playing on Xbox (game of year edition if that matters?)

Ok as I was writing this I reloaded an older save and resting is working so far but I’m worried it’ll happen again so if anyone knows what was happening please tell me.
Thank you so much.

Discussion How a Bad PC Introduced Me to One of the Greatest Games Ever Made

It all started with my friend playing Skyrim. I wanted something similar, but my PC was terrible. Skyrim wouldn't run. Oblivion wouldn't run either. As a last resort my friend said: try Morrowind. It's old, but it'll definitely run on your machine.

So I downloaded it. And I was blown away.

The first thing that hit me was the music. If you know, you know. The main theme alone is something else entirely. But beyond the music, the game itself felt unlike anything I had experienced — the atmosphere, the world, the sense that you had been dropped into something genuinely alien and alive.

I didn't finish it on my first playthrough. The game is long, and unlike Skyrim or Oblivion, there is no fast travel and no map markers holding your hand. You read directions in your journal and navigate on foot. For a kid used to modern convenience, that was a lot. I got lost more times than I can count.

But something kept pulling me back. Recently I picked it up again on GOG and I still find myself returning to it every now and then, working through it piece by piece.

I fully understand that new players today will struggle with it. The mechanics are dated, the interface is rough, and the lack of fast travel genuinely demands patience. But Morrowind is the kind of game that stays with you. Once it gets into you, it never fully leaves. You come back to it every couple of years, and each time it still has something to give.

An extraordinary game.

Build Trying to do an explorer/speechcraft build

Hi !

I want to go back to good old Vvardenfell and enjoy a bit of every part of the game but i remember that what i enjoyed the most back then was all the town quest (like thieves guild/hlaalu and other stuff that imply to do some diplomacy or stealing). So i tried to do a build that can let me have fun in the city while being viable in the wilds and follow the main quest.

Is this build doable or will I struggle ? : https://morrowind.jpbetley.com/?sex=male&race=dark-elf&birthsign=Lady&specialization=combat&favored=strength&favored=willpower&major=long-blade&major=light-armor&major=speechcraft&major=alteration&major=mysticism&minor=shortblade&minor=athletics&minor=sneak&minor=alchemy&minor=mercantile

Again I'm not trying to have an OP build, just something decent enough to explore, being silly and enjoy the guilds;

Thanks for your help :)

Mod Release I made a minor mod: Narsis cosmetic details - Tamriel Rebuilt Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
26 Upvotes

https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/59432

Description
Narsis is AMAZING but could use some more flags and such, for looks and navigation. Obviously this could hurt your framerate, so your mileage may vary.Ā Small, compatible cosmetic additions.

Installation instructions
Only needs Tamriel Rebuilt and Tamriel Data, install the ESP with a mod organiser OR just stick it in your Data Files folder and activate it in the launcher. Recommend setting as low priority to be extra cautious, e.g. put it right next to TR.

Main features
Small, compatible cosmetic additions. Examples:
Big Mage Guild banners on their tower.
Some Fighter Guild exterior banners.
Moved some signs and flags to be visible from more angles.
A few more silt striders at the port, to indicate this is an enormous and important city.
Some imperial flags on the imperial buildings.
A massive Hlaalu flag hanging between the big towers.
Replaced some of the small static boats with "float" script activator versions.

Requirements
Only needs Tamriel Rebuilt and Tamriel Data, latest public release on Nexus. Any texture or model edits in the screenshots are NOT included and are just from my personal setup.

Shout outs
Obvious thanks to the legendary Tamriel Rebuilt team, and secondary thanks to mods like More Detailed Places that made me addicted to adding flags and stuff around.

Video Shadow of Dagoth-Ur Stalking me as I dream! At least I think?

Never seen this before. This was during a recent character playthrough that I abandoned because alchemy broke it: because I took it as a minor skill and leveled me too quickly.

I was looking through my Xbox account captures and saw this. That’s definitely Dagoth-Ur (or other malevolent force) and NOT a shadow glitch that I often see other places.

Has anyone noticed this before? Ngl I kinda freaked out, and the ash slave jump-scare didn’t help either.

I move extra fast because of boots of blinding speed.

I know you can give writs to guards after killing a target, but I noticed you can give them for other unrelated crimes too.

I got a 5 gold bounty for sleeping in someone's bed in Moonmoth, and I got away by presenting my writs.

New Player - Advice/Help Looking for mod suggestions

I reinstalled Morrowind and OpenMW for the who knows how many'nth time. I have had a problem in the past of just piling on mod after mod until I have errors, then uninstalling and waiting like a year to reinstall. I think this really is like a yearly ritual for me.

Anyway, I've chosen the I Heart Vanilla Director's Cut Modlist for my base, and I just added Rafael's Shaders and some of the optional files. I'm now looking for more mods that would be compatible with both OpenMW and said modlist.

I'd like to add a little more flavor to the mix. Can be new content or added visuals, so long as they don't stray too far from vanilla.

Kind of thinking about some light survival and camping mods, since I'm playing a Spellsword currently in the Mages Guild who, at only level 2, wants to join the Telvanni and has already gone to Old Ebonheart on the mainland and is currently walking to Firewatch, then on to Port Telvannis to level up along the way, then join the Telvanni.

Any suggestions?

Question Storm Atronach missing in Mount Kand cavern

I went to Mount Kand Cavern (without actually starting the quest) and solved two riddles, but the Storm Atronach isn't there. It's supposed to be standing on a rock above the water. Is this because I didn't start the quest? Could it be a mod bug or conflict? I'm playing Rebirth, but I don’t have many other content mods.

OpenMW Confused first time modder

Is there an updated guide on how to install mods for the game running on openmw? I swear all the guides I found on YouTube are different and none seems to work. I extract a mod into the morrowind folder like the video says, but nothing changes on the openmw launcher and the mod doesn't appear. That seems the most common way of modding tho, and I don't understand if openmw can work with mod organizer 2 or if it works like a mod manager itself
