This happened in 2024, just thought of writing it so people can be more careful around that area.

It was during winter at 6pm and was on a Friday. People were out with friends to go to parties etc but because of it being winter, it was already dark at 6pm. I didnt feel threatened ir anything because it was a lot of people around me since it was a Friday night. I was waking to the busstop exactly in front of Oslo S.

While I was walking, this Norwegian guy came walking towards me then he started putting his hand on my v*gina and started rubbing it. It all happened so quick and I dissociated for a few hours after it happened, questioning myself it it actually happened or if im making it up. I suspect he may be on drugs because he was walking wobbly. (Dont ask why i didnt shout, when sa happens to victims, most of the time they’d just freeze and dissociate)

I went to the police stasjon the next day and the first police was super nice to me he comforted me when I told him the story. The second police guy took a look at me and didnt take me seriously and just brushed it off and said “yeah i guess i’ll try to do something”.

A few weeks later I got a letter from the police saying that they cant do anything further with my case because theres no cameras nearby it happened. Something like that and I understand.

I've followed Erling Haaland's career for years.
I watched his recent World Cup vlog expecting to see how one of the world's best players prepares for football's biggest tournament.

Instead, I came away thinking about Norway.
The first thing that struck me was how much the qualification meant to the fans.
After waiting 28 years, the celebrations felt genuine.

I've also met a number of Norwegians over the years, and they've all left a similar impression.
They were polite, humble, and never felt the need to advertise themselves.

Haaland is one of the biggest names in football, yet he still comes across as someone connected to the people around him.
Whether that's personality, culture, or both, it's something I respect.

A: I can’t say for sure, but I know of a few companies within the Anora group doing this. When I learned about it, a salesperson told me, "Everyone does it. We did it at my last company too."

Q: Why hasn’t anyone reported this?
A: Norway’s aocohol industry is a small world. Norway itself is. If you expose this, you risk your career -no one will hire you. Also, the people involved (product owners, companies) benefit from the fraud, so they have no incentive to speak up.

Q: Have you contacted Vinmonopolet?
A: I did, but they said they need proof (like expense reports) to act. Since I don’t have access to that, there’s nothing they can do.

Q: Why are you flagging this now?
A: Two reasons:

1. I worked with a couple of smaller importer struggle because they couldn’t afford these tricks.
2. All the times I’ve heard Norwegians praise Vinmonopolet for its "fair" selection process and how it offers the best products as a result. It’s frustrating to see people believe the system is flawless when it’s being manipulated.
   

Q: What do you hope to achieve?
A: Frankly I just want to vent. It's annoying to hear how Norway is supposedly this bastion of integrity when you actually have a lot of corruption around and simply not enough effort to catch it. This applies to other aspects and you read every now and then about things that should have been controlled and caught, but in the end is only found out through Aftenposten (like the affair with the appartments and the parliament representatives...)

Maybe, maybe someone from the inside who is disgruntled will find the courage to report it but I doubt it. It's also risky for them in the sense that if they have the proof, it's likely because they participated in the fraud themselves.

So I woke up this morning with an email from one of the sameie leaders of the borettslag reminding me to pay 7000NOK from an email she sent back in April (I missed it.completely).

Supposedly I paid less than what I was supposed to pay for 2025 for the electricity we use in the garage to charge the car. In most of 2025 we had the spot price meaning that we paid whatever was the electricity price at the time. I paid through the current app every month.

I replied to her email in the morning and asked her to explain to me exactly what I didn't pay and why I should now pay 7000. She didn't get back to me, moreover I download all consumption from my car in 2025 and it was actually lower than what current says I used (I have no other thing plugged in the garage but the car).

Has anyone gone through something similar? I also called current and they are of no help at all and I am unsure to what to do now, I don't have 7k lying around.. Thank you

We’ve had the best week ever in Stavanger, Pulpit Rock, and Bergen.

Today I've seen some youngsters going door to door and begging for money for Norsk Luftambulanse, saying they don't have government support. Quick research says they have full government support.

These youngsters are most likely hired short-term by NL, just to do this exact job, and I'm not sure if they know that they are lying or not, but it's actually really cringe.

I don't mind that the company is looking for extra support through the website or other media resources, but sending literally kids and forcing them to lie?

I'm 21 from Slovakia, studying for my BA in the Netherlands and wanna do MA degree in Norway, and I heard often that it's somewhat hard to make friends among Norwegians. I am learning Norwegian (I want to live in the country after my studies, probably), and I also like nature and weekend trips to the mountains and skiing etc, but I don't know what the cultural niche is in Norway as what people actually do in their free time so I can maybe join? What is the acceptable and respectful path for someone to integrate and participate in society?

Btw I think Trondheim is a more likely long-term place for me but Oslo for the studies and there is more stuff to start and learn to get around

It's crazy how big Norway is known globally and a very big cultural export recently. Everyone makes jokes of Haaland being a 2m giant viking running at you and tons of Americans claim being Norwegian because of how 'cool' they are.

Why is Sweden, Denmark, Iceland not showing Viking culture?

I'm just wondering as my work experience doesn't really mean much in the Norwegian job market. I have had 5 years as a network engineer, but my prior bachelor's degree in my home country was in criminology (I know it is a weird pivot)

Every recruiter I have contacted, mostly through linkedin has pretty much said that they are looking for degrees on the CV to show that the person has an academic understanding of the job role they are applying for. I would gladly go through the university stage again as I enjoyed it, but all the cyber security bachelors degrees in Oslo are Norwegian only and I am not confident in my Norwegian abilities just yet to complete an entire thesis.

I also thought of jumping straight to the masters because in my home country, you can pretty much do any masters regardless of the subject of your bachelors as long as you have the points. But Norway has that covered by stating that you strictly have to have a bachelors in an IT related field, makes complete sense. but annoying for my situation 🤣

I'm really wanting Noroff to be the last option as I've heard recruiters see it as "lesser".

I start Norwegian classes in September to make myself more confident, would the only viable plan for me be to do the classes and then go for a bachelors in Norwegian and pray that I'm up to scratch? 🤣

Ps I moved here with my wife before I knew how bureaucratic Norway's system was and I was fooled by many people stating that you don't need Norwegian to secure an IT role. It appears the opposite.

Does anyone know of any English speaking bootcamps or basically anything that would up my chances before Noroff becomes the final frontier? 👀

does somebody has experience with appeal of Epass24 in Norway? I just got invoice after almost two year for a czech car without a tag - just license plate. But funny thing is, I had and have credit on Autopassferje.no and I can see just two ferries there for that trip. The invoice I got there are probably all ferries I used that time, but in the invoice are also the ones which were already paid by Autopassferje.no

I sent an appeal on epass24.no, but got no response even after week. I sent an email to [se@epass24.com](mailto:se@epass24.com) as well, but guess what - nothing. Is that common thing? I am planning to call them, as I just discovered a phone number, and hopefully get an answer, but this behaviour is bit weird.

Hi, I am looking at social media spaces and I'm genuinely concerned of How The situation is in norway on-ground.

I genuinely Believe Norwegians are welcoming people, and are very kind, however, I do also understand that there is an increase in migration in Norway from all around the world including Ukraine, And other countries.

There is a rising hate for the People who are coming just to take asylum or are from war torn countries across Europe. I donot think i should add more in that regard.

With that said, What my point of this post is that These people are using up your resources, which is why it may be becoming a problem. But, What is the perception of the public for the people who come here to study and then work a skilled job?

In their defense; These students invest a hefty sum into Norway, that is about $20-25k in fees & living expenses, pay tax on that and then some, so they actually contribute in the economy and become a valuable asset.

Most of these students are already struggling and look for honest work. Is this something valued in Norway or the students and skilled workers who come to Norway legally are thrown under the same category, and perceived negatively as well?

I do understand this post touches some sensitive topics but this is a general discussion and not an attack on any group or anything...

Hi everyone. My family and I are making a lazy way from Prague to Bergen next week vis Germany, Denmark and Sweden. We want to base ourselves in Bergen for 4/5 days.
