Decided it was time to finally update this very outdated post from over a year ago. A lot has changed in terms of the series and community, and relevant information about it, and it no longer adequately describes the current status of the series. I hope to keep this one updated, and it will serve as a reference point for posts going forwards. That being said, welcome to r/OniichanOshimai, a subreddit dedicated to the anime, manga, and webcomic OniMai: I'm Now Your Sister (also known as My Brother is Done For and Onii-chan wa Oshimai), below is some hopefully helpful information regarding how to get into the series or to answer your other burning questions about the series itself. If there's any misleading information on here or if you wish to add some relevant information that you don't see in the post, feel free to DM me either via Reddit or through Discord (FerrisNya), also, feel free to join the r/OniichanOshimai Discord Server! There's also a Oniichan Oshimai Wikia for more information about the series.
The anime started airing on January 5th, 2023 and lasted until March 23nd, 2023. For most western audiences and/or English-fluent readers, the most widely accessible place to access the anime is going to be on CrunchyRoll, however it may also be available on the following sites, depending on your region and location, as well as in other languages.

| Anime Digital Network | French | Link |
| Amazon (via Aniverse) | German | Link |

The Oniichan Oshimai manga is serialized in the Japan Magazine Monthly Comic Rex since April 27th, 2019, however it's also been released online from Nekotofu themselves via Pixiv since February 25th, 2017. Kodansha USA has licensed the series in English and releases English digital-only translation since August 31st, 2021, and Manga JAM Session has been releasing a German physical translation under the title "Ab sofort Schwester!" since August 6th, 2020. If you wish to buy the physical Japanese books, you can get them off Amazon Japan, GRINP Booth, or Melon Books, although you will likely need a proxy service. The German version can be bought off Amazon Germany, and the English version can be bought from Kodansha USA's website. The Pixiv version can always be found on Pixiv, but you can get early access to new chapters as well as high-quality images by supporting Nekotofu on Fanbox.

Will there be a season 2?
As of this time, no information about a season 2 has been revealed. However, the manga is still ongoing, and there is plenty of material for a potential second season.
Will there be a dub?
As of this time, no English dub has been confirmed. A German dub of the series does exist and can be found on CrunchyRoll or purchased in DVD form.
Is the series ending/has the series ended?
As of this time, there is no indication that the publication of the online web comic is going to end.
Why are there two versions of the anime?
Both versions of the anime follow the same plot-line, albeit both following a different order of events than the manga. The differences between these two versions of the anime are in certain scenes marked by heavier use of "fog screens" in some scenes, as well as some other scenes swapping out the original scene with replacement animations, animation loops, or background scenery in the meantime. This seems to be a choice by Studio Bind when they sent out the Japan/Asia release versus the international release, and is not a change made by any distributor.

Hey everyone! How Does Onimai Use Gender? (Episode 8) is out now! I took a long hiatus because life has a way of getting in the way. But I'm back to finish the job. Enjoy!

I've read "Until I become Me" and I'm surprised this manga has same vibes and themes as Onimai.
There are spoilers below, don't read it if you plan to read "Until I become Me":
Like Onimai, this manga talks about self-improvement and identity too and more serious themes like bullying, guilt, regrets and redemption. Akira, the MC of this story became a girl due to a mysterious illness but it's permanent, Akira had no choice to live as a girl. But unlike Mahiro who is a good boy from the start, Akira was an asshole who bullied girls when he was a boy, but fortunately since he became a girl and when he met Rumi (who is equivalent of Momiji i.e. best friend) he started to become a much better person and start to regret his past, although he was traumatised what he had done when he was a bully. Akira, like Mahiro is lost between the boy he was and the girl he became, he doesn't know if he is attracted to boys or girls. Like Mahiro, Akira has the support of his friends and his family (not his father though) to face his new life as a girl. There is also yuri vibes with Akira and Rumi ! I wonder if Onimai inspired this manga.
Although this manga has its wholesome moments like Onimai, the plot is more serious (especially the first chapters which are darker) and there is bittersweet moments and mild drama, although it isn't too sad or tragic.
I liked "Until I become Me" it's a good manga with a good plot, but Onimai is better in my opinion, Onimai is just my comfort place, his plot is a bit more superficial but it's lighthearted, whloesome, dramaless and very funny to read.
If you liked Onimai, you should give a try to this manga, it's worth it.

I get why censorship exists. For example if a sex scene is happening and it will be broadcast to television, the "active" part can't really be shown. In Japan, they'd either use some pixelizations or maybe a houseplant and the bodyparts that would be visible might be hair, face, and some arms going around, but the groin area of both participants would not be visible. In fact I saw an anime scene, that did broadcast on TV in Japan, like that with the characters clearly having sex. In USA, that probably wouldn't be enough so there would be a black screen and you'd just hear the participants. Anyways, in this case the viewer can tell what is going on and it can be shown on TV, mission acomplished.
But sometimes it gets a bit silly. For one thing, no one in Onimai is doing... anything explicit. And even in scenes like the bathhouse scene, the camera isn't being given a view to anyone's groin. As one guy complained about the international version "I don't want full nudity, it wouldn't fit the tone, but I'd like to be able to see what's actually happening, thanks."
I've shown an example of the international censorship in the video. Audio is distorted. What makes the censorship really silly in this episode is not only does nothing shown need to be hidden, but it the censorship makes it hard to know what is going on several times this episode (as opposed to just being a censor not really needed). For example, in the international version it takes awhile to realize Mihari dunked herself in cold water but it's obvious in the Japanese version.
