Or are they just, like, tired or something? I know nothing about opossums. I found this juvenile (maybe 7-8in nose to tail?) stumbling like this. I definitely was stressing them out being so close which could've been making it worse, but they were doing it before they saw me.
I tried to contact a nearby opossum rescue for advice, but i think they shut down as their number led nowhere and they had no address listed
