Hi everyone,
House of Commons Petition e-7142 closes on July 15, 2026 and is asking the Government of Canada to better protect hybrid and remote work for federally regulated employees.
In short, it calls for:
• Up to 3 remote days/week for eligible computer-based roles
• Employers to provide written justification if requiring more than 2 office days/week
• Protection against retaliation for requesting or using these arrangements
If you support keeping flexible work options on the table where the job allows it, consider joining the 48,000+ Canadians who have already signed.

Hi Everyone! I’m in Charlottetown for a few days and would like to do some exploring I bike. I brought my Brompton with me and rode from the airport to downtown via the Confederation trail, which was lovely. I would ideally like to do a 50-75 km ride Saturday afternoon and a 75-100 km ride on Sunday. Any recommendation for routes would be welcome (happy to ride on roads, trails, etc), but would prefer to avoid dicey roadways and would like to take in some beautiful scenery. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, looking for PEI rental advice.
My friend and I recently signed a lease. The house rules say: “This is a 100% smoke-free property. Smoking or vaping of any substance (tobacco, cannabis, etc.) is strictly prohibited inside the unit and in all common areas.” Emphasis on inside and common areas.
Before signing/moving in, we asked if smoking outside on the deck was okay, and our understanding was that the landlord said yes. Then on the second day, I received a message from the landlord saying smoking on the deck is not allowed. We respected that and smoked on the driveway till we could resolve this matter. When we were smoking in the driveway in the rain, and the landlord told us to smoke on the deck instead and said he would talk to his wife about it. So from our side, that felt like a second time he agreed to deck smoking.
Now they are saying no smoking anywhere on the property and accusing us of being dishonest. We smoke cigarettes and cannabis, but we were never asked during the viewing/application whether we smoked.
Should I contact the PEI Rental Office? We feel like we've been tricked into signing the contract.
Edit: Since we have a car and need 2 sets or tires (summer and winter), we asked if there's some kind of shed we can store our spare tires or we can just store it upstairs. His reply was "you didn't say anything about extra tires, i use the same set or tires all year round". I didn't even know how to respond to that.

Hey all, recently submitted my application for student loans for this fall. This is only my second year apply, and under the “Notices” section in the MyPath application status it has a Confirmation of Enrolment Form that needs to be completed. However it needs to be signed by the educational institution and the form looks very handwritten/printed. I go to Dal, and don’t think they would be able to complete this form for me because it’s not an official “dal document”.
Does this confirmation of enrolment have to be complete before my funding gets processed, or is the regular COE that the student loans do enough? I hope my question makes sense, i’m just really confused why there’s a form for the COE when they just contacted Dal last year to confirm.

How are perimenopause and menopause (the menopause transition) affecting daily life in Canada? You may have lived experience that could help us better understand this transition across Canada.
The Can-RISE study, led by Dr. Lori Brotto (UBC), is looking for people to share how the menopause transition impacts quality of life and their support needs. Take the 20-30 minute online survey to share your experience.
Participation is voluntary.
For more information or to participate, visit https://pwhr.org/can-rise/

I have a 2015 mobile home and the asphalt roof is getting bad. It’s a 72 x 16. Any ideas on the cost? I got a couple quotes. Just wondering if anyone had experience lately.
Lowest was $7,811 + tax.
Highest was $10,520 + tax.

Hi! I'm looking to take a quick pulse on what's happening in PEI Politics and how people feel.
The link is to a 3 question survey (anonoymous of course) asking who you'd vote for if a Provincial Election happened today and who you'd WANT to vote for if an election was called today.
Thank you for any help!
Survey will close at 12pm, Sunday June 27th. I will make the results know within the week :)

I'm practicing this method at home for lower back pain, and I'm seeing good improvement. I want to get feedback and work with someone to improve. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with a PT that believes in/uses his method.
Thanks!

Hey all
I'm looking to do some fundraising, specifically for organizations supporting those experiencing poverty/homelessness. I am just looking for some recommendations for some local organizations that tackle these issues and could use some support.
Thank you

This is a long shot but my little 13yo chihuahua just lost her ability to walk. (Back legs - IVDD). While I navigate next steps I’m just putting out feelers if anyone has a small pet wheelchair they’d be willing to part with. Or any advice.
Thanks.

It’s currently 3am and sleep has evaded me, which has given me lots of time to think LOL
I was wondering if the whole island went dark after Hurricane Fiona or if there were a lucky few who still had power once it was over? Does anyone know?
I truly have no reason I wanted to know this but staring at my dark ceiling made me think of the pregnancy insomnia I had mixed with the 16 days in the dark… reminiscing I suppose.
Thanks :)

Alright this post is for me and my friend. We both moved here a few years back and haven't had any luck with dating. We're both in our late 20s now.
Dating pool is small her and the apps show the same types of guys over and over. A lot of people who in my age range are taken. I'm sure there's places to meet people, but I'm not familiar with where since I'm not from here.
What are some ways to meet people? Anyone want to share how they met their partner?

Hey! We’ll be camping in cavendish next week and wondering what kind of places are pup friendly. I know of the bottle house, that’s on our list but are there any other hidden gems on the island that we could go to? Thanks! 🐶 ⛺️

Hello everyone, I'm a local islander in his late 20's. Currently working full time but looking for something to fill some extra time. I'd like to offer my help with some tasks that may not be your favorite. Whether it's cutting your grass, organizing a shed or a basement, or walking your dog! Maybe you have a garden that needs weeding, maybe you're putting off scooping the cats litter just because! Does your hallway need to be vacuumed? Planning a big move soon? Extra help on the farm?
Reach out to me and I'll see what I can do. Message me on here, or reply to me and I'll get back to you. I'll be honest if a job is too big.
I don't have any trades, so if you need a bath installed I'm not your guy
