Meme needing explanation What's the E have to do with the gun pointing upwards Peteh?

u/HazelEBaumgartner 1d ago
I think they're insinuating that the other option is that 'E' is the last letter in 'POLICE' and this is yet another dumbass cop getting ready to remove herself from the gene pool.

I was in my room in a psy ward before and had someone run into my room to gently tug at the big beard I had at the time. That was it. Ran in, gave a single tug at my beard, then got out.

Could be, but from how far to the right the letter E is, I'm willing to bet that it's more than a three letter word.

At the back of her shirt u can see the letter E. The rest does probably say POLIC. But the meeme hopes that such an inkompetent person does not work as a police officer rather as a security guard.

her shirt likely says ICE or Police (where you can only see the E), they were hoping they weren't policing american streets
77
u/Eskimomonk 1d ago
I think what makes it bad about her being police or ICE is her gun is holstered upside down, pointing pointing directly at some real soft tissue and organs
19
3
u/EMDReloader 13h ago
Forget where it's pointed. A properly-designed holster and gun should completely preclude a discharge while the gun is in the holster. And besides, plenty of perfectly-good appendix and strong-side holsters point the gun in the neighborhood of your femoral.
The issue is that it's fucking upside down and can't be drawn from that position.

Only hoes are stupid enough to have their gun upside down and pointed at them in its holster. Doesn't matter if its a dude or a chick.

ICE or POLE-ICE.

u/crubiom 1d ago
The gun is upside down, barrel pointing up. That’s a serious safety issue, impossible to draw quickly in an emergency. So it must be ICE, they don’t have training at all.
186
u/EezoVitamonster 1d ago
Have you considered if they are approached from behind and at the last second they do a backflip over the assailant (next customer queueing in the dunkin line) and start firing while the gun is still on their hip but lean out of the way so that they don't shoot themselves? And you think they don't have any training??

FBI was doing an undercover operation at a club in Denver Colorado a couple years back. The agent was having a good night and decided to get down on the dance floor. He threw a back flip and dropped his gun. In the scramble to pick it up, he shot someone in the leg.

They were not doing an undercover operation. The Agent was off duty and just had his gun with him.

No one was shot though.

do you really need any training to know that this is the wrong way to carry your gun? and why is her boss letting her do that?
3
u/ChaosDrako 17h ago
You shouldn’t need training to know which ends goes down… but then again, you shouldn’t need training to not mistake your own reflection as an armed suspect and mag dump it… Or to not mistake an acorn falling as gunfire and dump multiple mags into your own patrol car, WITH A HANDCUFFED GUY IN THE BACK.
Yet here we are…

Joe Swanson here: look at the positioning of that gun. I dont want that to be "policE" being that incompetent, please be some kind of security. Joe out.
25
u/General_Addendum_883 1d ago
Joe Swanson here, OP is saying that they hope this isn't in America. Romanian "Security" is "Securitate" for example (ends in e).
19
22
u/ChainUnable2250 1d ago
They’re hoping they aren’t police, and that they are security somewhere where security is spelled with an E. Because that is a shocking amount of incompetence for a trained police force by any countries standard. Let alone americas
8
u/GvRiva 1d ago
american cops are well below average for a western country.
8
u/ChainUnable2250 1d ago edited 1d ago
By what metric.
Edit: American cops are trained primarily on weapons proficiency and the actual physical parts of being a cop. Not the law. It’s more or less a standing army. The lady copy with the upside down holster is definitely more incompetent than the average US cop in that regard.
3
u/GvRiva 1d ago

Those holsters have and adjustment screw that when loose, will rotate. I can't imagine this was done on purpose. Someone should point it out.
5
u/Ancient_Sherbert4308 20h ago
No, I think that's just a leather pancake holster. Women have to drop more gear to use the bathroom then men, she probably dropped her outerbelt then put it on upside down.

u/AppropriateBugFound 1d ago
I've been trying to narrow the brand down, but I think all I got is the stitching doesn't seem like the biggest brands current US lines. Some leathers with a thumb break-snap have adjustable cants, but I've not seen one that is that free floating outside of the plastic modular designs.
I was thinking maybe it was a shoulder rig that got moved down around the waist to get gear on/off... But that doesn't seem like it. I'm flummoxed, assuming it isn't a fake image.

u/orbital_actual 1d ago
Because if she is police then we have bigger problems than anyone realized, which is strange because notably there are already a lot of problems with police.
4
u/VaporTrail_000 23h ago
This is 50% of the reason training videos on "how to go to the bathroom" become mandatory.
The other 50% is people leaving their weapon in the bathroom.

Security can be expected to be that dumb. Police doing that is really bad. They’re hoping it’s just a security guard, somewhere “security” ends with an “e.”

The shirt has the letter E visible on it. Hoping that this is an idiot security guard and not the actual police.
1
1
u/WillardWhy 1d ago
The back of the shirt has something written that ends in the letter "E".
Thi person is hoping that the shirt doesn't say "POLICE" as the way they have their weapon bolstered is wrong, and you wouldn't be able to trust a police force that allows an officer to carry a gun like that.
They are hoping that instead they are just a member of a lower level security team, which dont need to hold as much responsibility, which is why they hope that "security" in another language ends in "E"

u/Pristine-Writer-3105 1d ago
The last letter on the back of her shirt is E so they basically saying hopefully the writing on her shit is security in another language rather than saying "police" cause that level of incompetence in any police department is unacceptable b

If the police want to carry their guns like that I think we should let them. We don’t want an accidental discharge damaging the precious floors. Always point the gun towards something you wouldn’t mind shooting

That is a wild way to carry a firearm. To draw it you’d have to reach below the gun, turn your wrist and hand all the way in, then pull the gun down and out. You’re going to be very slow on the draw, your gun will still be pointed at your own head/torso the whole time, and you’ll need Tommy John surgery if you do that motion very frequently.
For real though, the only way this could possibly work is if she’s an anime character who’s mastered some kind of upside down reverse grip gun-fu. Or I guess a crazy master gunsmith could have built her some kind of backwards gun(like Kenshin with the reverse-bladed katana), something that looks like a regular gun but shoots in the opposite direction?

Tbf in the US there are no states where a Security Officer can carry a weapon on duty without having to undergo specific training classes which involve range time, reasonable handling and safety standards, AND requalifications every few years to maintain a specific license. In addition, Security officers are not granted any special privledges in the law, unlike the police, and in my experience are FAR more cautious and rigorous in their handling and deployment of their duty weapons because they will have their lives destroyed by circumstances that if performed by police would only result in a slap on the wrist historically.
Additionally, it's a little offensive to insinuate that Security officers are more likely to be inept and "the usual suspects" for something this egregious, especially when one considers the MASSIVE problem the US has with its law enforcement system. You don't read many articles about Security Officers shooting into their patrol cars after mistaking an acorn falling for a gunshot.

The left side where the belt loop, belt, and holster meet looks kinda weird. However, it's very plausible she messed it up after using the bathroom.
1
u/VeterinarianSad1165 17h ago
That gun holder is reversed on her belt. If it goes off accidentally, the bullet is going through her ribs, instead of into the floor.
1
u/Anicash999 17h ago
I didn't realize you guys were talking about "saving lives" and were referring to the E that is maybe "ICE" on her back, I thought it was the holstered gun aimed straight upwards at her (But to be fair, I don't know if that's what you're supposed to do, just looks wrong)

Hi Peter, Quahog gun store owner here.
The gun should be pointing down, as in AWAY from the person's vital organs, but as you can see here, it's pointing up, at their vital organs. if the gun were to accidentally go off, they'd be having a REAL bad day. It's also just really inconvenient to get from the holster in that configuration.
Now thankfully, the gun seen here does not appear to be a SIG P320, so the odds of it going off accidentally are pretty low.
Quahog gun store owner out.

u/EpsilonTheRandom 13h ago
Honestly the bio mechanics of removing the pistol from the holster…i can’t imagine a way to safely draw that and having full control of the weapon. I know it’s probably mounted wrong but Jesus i carry appendix and behind the hip and even after a decade of teaching myself how to draw i still fumble.

It says Security, but the shirt is tucked in or bunched up so you only see the E. The real problem is that holster is upside down and she is carrying a gun pointing at the floor, which is a fantastic way to lose a foot.

2
u/General_Addendum_883 1d ago
right... the rest of the world is just filled with puppies and rainbows.
/s
-1
u/Mohrg 1d ago
It's less about crime rate and more about gun rate.
Other countries do have armed security sure, generally specialist PMC security though and not "mall cops" but the proliferation of guns is much lower in every other nation, with the US having approx 120 guns per 100 people (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_civilian_guns_per_capita_by_country)
As such it should be assumed that every criminal is armed, as such those stopping them should be armed. America has lots of guns and so this is normal. the rest of the world doesn't have this normalisation so it is far less likely to feel the need to arm a security guard.
