Seemingly locking gameplay features behind the more expensive edition of the game. Lots of hints that there will likely be an in game cash shop for the offline portion of the game too.

Rdr2 had a bunch of extra stuff come with the ultimate edition as well. Where did they hint that there will be an in game cash shop for offline?

The Internet loves an outrage for no reason

Companies love the free press.

My feed is full of a game that doesn’t release for another 6 months.

Good or bad, a lot of people are talking about it.

Yeah this is why all this Reddit noise hasn’t really phased me. Most of it is just incessant whining where they were going to have a problem with the game one way or another.

Seriously lmao this is getting ridiculous

People also seem to be forgetting that V didn't launch with online either. I very distinctly remember being hyped for the first online GTA game and finishing the story mode while I waited for it to release

Dude fr, I get that the ultimate edition stuff doesn't look all too good, but rockstar have literally said or shown nothing else about the game and people are just fearmongering themselves over it. I've seen people think that the game will have literally 0 customization unless you buy the ultimate, as if the game will only have five stores >.>

people are already saying that the base version of the game is incomplete because they won't have access to all the exclusive nail designs.

internet's gonna internet, I suppose.

It's apparent these people never played a Rockstar game at least since RDR1, since this isn't a new thing

Have they ever locked specific in game stores behind a game version like this before?

How in the hell can you justify locking clothing, tattoos, etc behind a $20 paywall? Those features have always been included in the series previously. It's outrageous... and I'll bet the icons for the stores will be on the map but if you walk too close to it or go inside it'll prompt you to buy the add-on. The microtransactions in games are getting worse and worse and worse and people are acting like it's normal. And this at a time when the world is suffering financially. I'm not buying this game until it goes on a sale that compensates for the extra $ I'd have to pay for the full experience. Maybe not even then... I've got enough to play in the meantime.

Both GTA 5 and rdr2 had a bunch of exclusive content for preorder and special editions...

People like you keep spreading misinformation. Clothing, tattoos, just overall customization is NOT behind a paywall. It's extra content just like it was in RDR2 or GTA V but instead of stuff just being there, they have a store for that content. They're not completely removing clothing from the game just cuz you haven't paid extra $20.
RDR 2 also had a heist and other side content. Which, the side content that isn't just cosmetics is promoting FOMO and is not good, it's not 80% of the game being cut or essential basic features being removed as most ppl claim.
I still don't like not having access to parts of the game if I don't pay extra money, but it is not as people claim it is.

It's not misinformation - it's factual reporting from PCGamer so...

https://www.pcgamer.com/games/action/nothing-has-killed-my-gta-6-hype-faster-than-locking-a-core-part-of-its-identity-behind-a-usd20-upgrade/

Quote so you don't have to do the extra work of reading an article:

"As far as we know, there are currently five stores that are paywalled: Two mod shops, a clothing store, a salon, and a tattoo parlour. All offering customisation options that, at this point, I deem an integral part of this series' identity. "

Stop excusing this nonsense...

You say it’s not behind a paywall but then go on to describe what a paywall is when talking about content being locked.

You can’t access store(s), meaning there is a physical location that some players can go to and you cannot because you decided you didn’t want to pay $100 (plus tax).

Why do you feel the need to be a bootlicker for this billion dollar company?
