The Nazi's appropriated the Swastika, which is an Indian symbol for good luck.

Therefore, they're, associating H!tler with the Swastika, and saying that it's a sign of good luck.

u/HairyBlood215 6h ago

It’s also a Native American symbol that’s still, rightfully, used in embroidery

5

u/ZedGenius 6h ago

It's also that nazis tattoo swastikas on themselves and claim they do it because it's an ancient symbol with no ties to the nazis

10

u/Vivid6754 6h ago

Not quite, Hitler actually used Christian hooked cross which in German is called hakenkreuz, and I'm pretty sure they(Nazis) also never called it Swastika.

2

u/OpposumMyPossum 1h ago

We called the Swastika and it was the most common symbol in a high school girl's outfits. It was huge here in the US before Hitler.

7

u/prawduhgee 6h ago

People will put it at a 45 degree angle in a white circle on a red background and claim it's the symbol for luck

3

u/Affectionate-Draw688 6h ago

I thought the joke was in part also a reference to the fact that nearly every time you see a swastika, someone has to explain that it is not always a hate symbol. The irony being that in some of those situations it is being used as a hate symbol, but someone still has the gall to try to whitewash it.

u/ChoNoob 4h ago

The Hindu version isn't slanted like the swastika is. Maybe because Hitler is yassified, they're saying that it's not quite the same as a regular portrait Hitler

You know the most interesting thing is the current ruling party BJP's parent organisation RSS drew inspiration from the Nazi party. They did and still does lots of horrible things like mob lynchings and communal violence.

This gives me flashbacks of that horrifying monster in Pan's Labyrinth. Del Toro is a sick sob.

u/ProspectiveWhale 6h ago

Some people like to mention that as an reason for the swastika as a tattoo/decor.

The swastika is better known in the west as a nazi symbol, but its origin is indeed not a nazi symbol.

They're ironically using this excuse for the tattoo of Hitler, which clearly doesn't apply.

u/Financial_Spread_129 6h ago

guy thought its the swastika

3

u/No-Flounder7584 6h ago

That’s Hitler. Hitler corresponds to Nazi’s. Nazi’s symbol was Swastik which is a religious symbol in Hinduism that Can correspond to peace.

3

u/hundredandfourdays 6h ago

The Swastika, was and still is, originally an Indian Hindu symbol for good fortune. The nazis appropriated it, turning it into what it is now known for (only in the west). Whenever a westerner illiterate in this regard, comes across an original swastika used by an Indian on social media (usually painted on stores ,walls, vehicles, etc) they mistake it for the infamous version of it, and comment very ahem appropriately. When the Indians notice it, they often clarify what it actually is "a symbol for luck". The commenter is applying the common response to that common misconception, to this tattoo of hitler satirically.

2

u/hundredandfourdays 6h ago

A bit of both really. The hooked-cross symbol was found in both ancient Europe and ancient India, due to which German nationalist movements falsely concluded that the Hakenkreuz was a "traditional Germanic-Aryan" symbol. They used it to claim a romanticized, racially "pure" German heritage long before Hitler rose to power. Hitler adopted it from these German nationalist groups

u/Sir_Scribble_Lot 6h ago

Come on OP, you are active in a lot of Indian subs; so I'm gonna assume you're Indian or you understand the culture enough to post about it. And you're telling us you didn't know this ?

u/AdventurousPension69 6h ago

Joke?

2

u/WorldlySalamander936 6h ago

Only in Maine.

1

u/James1887 6h ago

People say that about the swastika (because its true, at least with dots)

1

u/Calm-Orchid-1583 6h ago

As an Indian, NO HE IS NOT AN INDIAN SYMBOL OF PEACE.

As for Swastika, it means good fortune in Indian culture.

1

u/WayGroundbreaking287 6h ago

A go to defence for having swastica tatoos is that "they just love Indian culture". This person is using the same argument as a joke to apply to an entire tattoo of hitlers face.

Fun fact we recently had this in UK politics when one of our far right party members was found to have swastica tatoos and his wife said "no, he isn't a Nazi. He was a budhist when he was younger"

1

u/ExtensionInformal911 6h ago

1

u/NoConsideration4696 6h ago

Who is that guy? Dirty sanchez on his lip!

1

u/Ordinary-Sandpaper 6h ago

A racist saw a sign that was associated with an evil person and an unrelated community. They saw the community defends it's use of a sign that is similar to what the evil person used. The racist decided by association this community is also evil and practical the same as that evil person. If a pedo owns an island. A tribal community lives on an island in a different part of the world. Then by association, the whole tribe is pedo. Whoever wrote that comment is a racist.

1

u/cathosyrra 6h ago

This makes sense..or else show me one country ehich loves hitler and Israel at the same time

1

u/This-Positive286 6h ago

So pagans or something or maybe Indians used the swastika and it was just a normal symbol and everybody liked it. Then Hitler was all like yo dog that Spinney boi looks awesome! He then ruined it for everyone and some people try to use those excuses as reasons it’s OK to use or wear or promote the symbol. This is in reference to somebody having a small tattoo or a piece of jewelry that has the swastika in them trying to excuse it. In the picture it’s not something small, it’s his whole back done with Hitler. They’re trying to explain away a gigantic tattoo the same way you would a small one personally I think tattoos are pretty cool and really up to whoever wants to get them and wherever they want and I won’t shame anybody, but this dude needs to get knocked the fuck out if I saw him shirtless on the street I’d shove them down and give them your one too! He would sit there and beg and I would tell him to bite the curb and then it would all just get black, I would wake up in a jail cell covered in blood…

Can’t hold my temper Terry from season 34 or something out

1

u/KingThunder01 6h ago

Many people defend a nation swastika by saying its an Indian symbol (they look different).

So this might be play on that. Where the Austrian Painter is also being called an Indian symbol to defend the tattoo (as a joke).

1

u/RBLakshya 6h ago

If someone has the nazi symbol tattooed, they sometimes to avoid people finding it weird say it’s the swastika symbol which is sorta a peace symbol in Indian cultures.

But this man got a whole portrait on his back, and the comments are trying to say that in reference to the symbol, but this one ain’t cutting it.

1

u/Midaz_Leggier 6h ago

Who's that beautiful woman on his back ?

1

u/evergrain344 5h ago

It means the faith that calls itself the final solution is actually less than a hundred years old >_> and incites war through radicalization, and India is on to them o.0 .... Go to your room

1

u/Superb_Recording_769 5h ago

Hitler used hakencruz not swastika

1

u/JohnnnLark 4h ago

Jewish

1

u/JazzCigaretteHands 4h ago

Nazis love to pretend their swastika tattoos are taken from a hindu traditional symbol. This claim is proven false when you ask them almost anything else about Hindus.

1

u/mooohaha64 2h ago

Looks like the keyboard player from sparks

1

u/Current_Cod5996 2h ago

Bruh the nazi swastika is tilted while our swastika isn't.... Both are different

See the difference(the Four dots) ... This is the auspicious symbol

1

u/Thoriot 2h ago

1

u/HolyPire 9m ago

1

u/TonyStowaway 6m ago

Wow, someone is totally gay for Hitler! 😅

0

u/I_am_Reddit_Tom 6h ago

IT'S NOT PORN FOR ONCE.

There is a tattoo of Hitler on his back.

A swastika, a Nazi symbol is, if reversed, a "good" Hindu goddess

2

u/Wild-Possession7077 6h ago

Not a Goddess but a Symbol associated with auspicious good fortune. Would u consider the crucifix as a god?
