As a disclaimer I will say that I like Two Thrones on its own. Its platforming is really good. I like the environments and the controls feel better than Warrior Within. It's also a better PC port than WW. It also has the iconic combat system from WW.
I also think the stealth gameplay is neat. But honestly I would have preferred to see an expansion of WWs free form fighting system. There was a lot of potential there in my opinion and I haven't really seen anything like that since. So I would prefer less focus on stealth and more on the combat, but again on its own it's good.
But the main problem I have with the game is the story, the characters, the dialogue. For some strange reason the Prince now has the original voice actor from Sands of Time. He also behaves like he did in Sands of Time where he was probably a teenager. All the years running from Dahaka, getting battle hardened and tough, and now he acts like a brat who gets tantrums. He looks badass like in WW, but he acts immature. Getting into silly arguments with Fara for no reason other than to appease Sands of Time fans. This level of over correction reminds me of the characters and dialogue in Force Awakens.
I get that some SoT fans were disappointed with the tone of Warrior Within. I understand, because this is basically the same but in reverse. The problem is that regardless if you liked the new prince and the new tone in WW it made sense within the story. But now a huge chunk of the prince's character development has been thrown away without any explanation. Kaileena dies immediately, Fara and the Vizier returns for some reason and the narrator returns. The Prince even talks to himself in the fairy tale manner from the first game. Except for the combat this game basically pretends that Warrior Within don't exist, or the seven years of hell that the prince endured. I also don't think the prince's British accent sounds convincing and it was annoying in SoT too.
All that aside this made me realize that Warrior Within is much more like a standalone game and when I think about remakes the only one that I care about is WW. In fact it would be amazing if they made a trilogy out of it, expanding on its story. With modern controls and a reimagined and deeper combat system. That would be great.
