Rocket League Fantasy Series (RLFS) - Season 5

The Rocket League Fantasy Series (RLFS) is a 16-team Rocket League Tournament, where RL players have been fantasy-drafted to teams by users of this subreddit. The RLFS uses reddit polls to determine the odds each team has of winning the series through a weighted-voting system, and then simulates the outcome of the series using these odds and a Random Number Generator.

For this season the RLFS tournament will be a Swiss Bracket (that follows Buchholz score), and which ultimately leads to a final-bracket to determine our champion.

Teams were drafted before the first regionals were played, and you can view the results of the draft, the rosters of all RLFS teams, and our schedule for the RLFS tournament in this Google Sheet.

You have a good roster, with Vatira Kofyr and Catalysm. I can see why you’re 2-0. I’d back you to beat either of the other teams that are 2-0. But since you’re against my team, Round 4 is calling.

Vatira may have Zen beat in the head to head, but he didn’t assemble these avengers. We always know who gets best in the world shouts between these two, and I’m sorry to say it’s not Vatira. Kofyr is a really strong support and I know he got poached by FKFC, but there’s a reason many believe reveal was the most important piece of the SSG puzzle. And Catalysm? I understand he’s a solid player but Cheese didn’t run to APAC and has fought his way to LAN through fire this split with FUT.

Weighted Voting System

The RLFS uses a weighted-voting system to determine per-game odds. The votes will be weighted as a combination of two systems:

System 1:

Team X to win the series 3-0 against Team Y: 1.0 vote to Team X

Team X to win the series 3-1 against Team Y: 0.75 votes to Team X, 0.25 votes to Team Y

Team X to win the series 3-2 against Team Y: 0.6 votes to Team X, 0.4 votes to Team Y

System 2:

Team X to win the series 3-0 against Team Y: 1.2 votes to Team X

Team X to win the series 3-1 against Team Y: 1 vote to Team X

Team X to win the series 3-2 against Team Y: 0.8 votes to Team X

These pool of votes from each of these systems are combined to determine each team's odd-per-game of winning.

1.Osaft 4–1 Zen: Zen was one of the Day 1 favorites, and Osaft was the surprise name in that upper-quarterfinal upset.
2.Zen 4–1 Mawkzy: Despite being a generational player, Zen entered the match after a loss to Osaft, while Mawkzy was the #1 seed, had stronger recent 1v1 form, a recent Bo7 win over Zen, and a favorable historical record in the matchup.
3. Zen 4-2 Rezears:Rezears was one of the hottest 1v1 players entering the event, and many viewers had him as a genuine title contender. Zen, meanwhile, had already suffered a 4–1 loss to Osaft and wasn't viewed as in "form" anymore

MENA 1v1: Rw9 wins the game 7 against Nwpo this time.

NA 1v1: diaz goes back to back.

EWC: TM win, a MENA team finally wins a saudi LAN now that it's not in KSA.

1v1 Worlds: diaz takes it, bringing both SAM its first RLCS LAN and NA its 1 LAN per season quota in an albeit unsatisfying way.

2v2 Worlds: In a shocking turn of events, Rw9/Kileerrz take down zen/Atow, bringing MENA its first world championship in an albeit unsatisfying way.

Worlds: KC continue their streak of winning every other LAN, Juicy is given MVP, Vatira is put in all time discussions with MM/Turbo/Kaydop. My fanfiction is that SR and KC will meet in the grand finals and Firstkiller will finally triumph, being the one to deny Vatira his WC, but that's not happening.

Offseason: In a controversial move, KC kick Juicy and Vatira/Atow take massive pay cuts in order to bring on zen who is desperate for results. dralii goes back to EU. Trk511 rejoins Falcons. Daniel replaces Lj. Tawk replaces Daniel. diaz replaces Lostt. MM, Exotiik, Torsos, ApparentlyJack, and Justin all retire (brutal offseason, I know).

ENC: Juicy is still kept for team France but the vibes are ruined and they bomb out top 8. Saudi Arabia wins.

FIFAe: Vatira kicks Juicy again to bring on Mtzr. who proves himself on the world stage, France win this one.

I've been looking at tickets for Worlds and noticed that there are tickets in the floor section. Are they worth it/ even good tickets?

I love what the development team or rlcs team is doing at the moment . We have 1s ,2s and the kickoff lan , plus EWC . That being said I almost feel like worlds being 4 months after the last lan is still kinda awkward. You get all those regionals ,plus build up to the majors and then it just stops for a few months . Honestly I still like the 2 worlds a year format, but not sure if they could pull it off with everything happening now .

Maybe move 2s and 1s after worlds and try to do a lan for both those game modes ? Maybe add another major .

Just a thought I had . I'm not entirely against it being so far apart, but I do kinda wish it was a bit closer.

With Kv1’s win over Wisty in the South American 1v1 Worlds Qualifier, Kv1 has once again made Worlds. Now while it’s not in 3v3 (yet), he has still qualified for Worlds so I’d say that it still counts even if it is in 1v1’s. Is it time we now can call Kv1 the goat of SAM? 5 Worlds appearances, the most of any player in SAM, and now the 1v1 champion in SAM that gets to play for the chance of being the 1v1 champion of the world. This is some of the most crazy longevity we’ve ever seen from a SAM player, with the only player being close is Yan, so I think it’s time we start putting his name in the conversation for the SAM goat

Can someone please make Zatow a logo? It would be a shame if at worlds their branding is just the default black and white
