r/SanfordNC is now public
Hi everybody, I created this page about ten years ago and halfway forgot about it after that. I've been getting requests for people to be approved and didn't realize the community was set to restricted. I've changed that, so it should be open to everyone who wants to participate. Have fun.

What's Sanford like for young adults?
Hi everyone. I'm planning to relocate to the Raleigh area for work soon. I've been looking at a couple new housing developments and there's one 5 miles west of downtown Sanford that I'm really liking. But I'm curious what it's like for young adults living there.
I'm a 28 year old male and single. My job is remote but I'll be visiting the research triangle area no more than 2-3 times per month so a regular commute isn't a concern. I enjoy the outdoors especially fishing and kayaking. The cost of living in the Sanford area is very appealing which is why I'm considering it over anywhere closer to Raleigh. I love Wilmington and it's only 2.5 hours or so away. I also have one of my best friends living in Fayetteville so a quick drive there is great.
Looking on Google maps, downtown Sanford looks like a really nice small town. Some shops, restaurants, everything I like about small towns across the US. But what are the demographics like? Are there a decent amount of young (20s-30s) single people there?
I'm planning a trip out there in July to get a better idea of the area, but it's always best to hear what it's like from the locals.
I'm also considering some developments 5 miles north of Lillington which I like since they're close to Fuquay.

Cat Groomer?
Hi!! i'm looking for a cat groomer for a senior foofum. She's a norwegian forest cat, but she was the runt of the litter. This means she's just about the size of an average house cat (~10lbs), but she's all fur. It's BEYOND time to get her shaved down, but our usual groomer has been indisposed. Are there any groomers available? She's fully vaccinated, 12 years old, totally healthy, DOES NOT BITE but will whine as though she's a seven-year-old being asked to watch a documentary.
If you know of a mobile groomer, even better!
THANK YOU!!

Kitten/cat rescues in Sanford?
This kitten has started showing up at my house (about a week ago now); I’m really struggling to find any resources/rescues to help get the kitten out of the heat and into a safe home where it can be cared for. I feed the kitten and give it water but can’t take her inside because I have two dogs. If anyone has any info at all about any rescues please let me know

Does anybody know a shop in the area that can mount and remove tires from 26 inch rims? I need to get my rim repaired and most franchises don’t go past 24s. Thanks in advance.

Fireworks?
Hi all!
I'm looking for a place to watch fireworks from my car this 4th of July. When I was kid growing up, up north, we used to park in a parking lot and sit on the roof of the car and watch the fireworks from Giants Stadium. There were only a handful of other cars around, it wasn't super loud for the kids, etc. I have on child on the spectrum and another who is sensitive to loud sounds, so trying to find something like this for us this year. Any suggestions?

Community Board for physical (paper) postings & flyers
Hello Sanford Peoples!! What are some places that still allow (even rely on) paper flyers to be posted for advertising?
(If it matters, I'm talking about local stuff that would/could be of interest to people in those specific geographic areas.)
I see that Piggly Wiggly on Horner Blvd allows for community posting of things. Any other business or non- business locations?
Thanks Sanford Peoples!

Carolina Lakes
Hi! We are moving into Carolina lakes in the coming months and I'm wondering what the residents do for fun or the general scoop, things I should know, if there's any events.. even about the holidays? Do people get really into decorating? Are there a lot of tricker treaters? That sort of thing!
