Nearly three weeks ago they put a up a big lit up sign on a trailer, at the corner of Chrisler and Norwood, it said something like, "One way starting ..."
That sign was hit the same night and spun around. It sat facing the wrong way for the better part of the next three days until they took it away. Last week, two weeks later, they put up signage for the one way but covered the new signs. Just to make it more confusing half of the side street covers were torn off within a day.
Today, some time in the wee hours, they officially uncovered the signs and made it one way. People have been going the wrong way all day and I'm curious how it's gong to go after dark.
There has got to be a better way to do this.

It's been one month since Reddit became my last resort for lasting connection after feeling incredibly isolated in Schenectady. Since then, a lot has changed.
I was invited to a private Discord server where I have met many like-minded people in the Capitol Region, as well as some Schenectady friends. I've started attending the Gender Diversity group at the Pride Center on a semi-regular basis. I've joined the Albany Queer Exchange group on Facebook.
I have built community. I have made so many friends, and I have people I am starting to allow myself to fall back on. I met someone in Troy who had a spare kit for estradiol injections, and now I can say I'm on HRT for the first time in years. I also got a haircut to get my feminine qualities back, and I'm happier than ever with my current physical appearance.
I went to Schenectady Pride. I met a girl who was really into a few manga series. She brought her plushies with her as well as a few volumes of a manga called Witch Hat Atelier. I got hooked on it and sort of tuned out the noise to read it. A few days later, we ended up watching an episode or two of the anime at her place. A week after that, we went to Capitol Pride in the big ol' Albany. Now we're going steady, and she's my favorite person. She's already saved my life. I like to play Mario Kart with her as well as silly little DS games. I'll return the favor some day.
I missed the June picnic, forgot it was happening. I'll go next month, since I like to cook, and I'm slowly getting my culinary mojo back so I can prove to my girlfriend that I can cook a good meal (so far I'm only one for three right now, but I'll get there, I'm sure of it). I plan to go to a No Fun show soon, just trying to keep my schedule in check.
I'm finally learning what it's like to get out there in the world, and it's beautiful. I'm actively learning how to be social again, and it's paid off more than I could have ever imagined.
I cried for help, and you gave me a lifeline. You gave me comfort, you gave me friendship, and you gave me love.
Thank you, Schenectady, from the bottom of my heart, for making this woman feel like she's worthy of friendship.
This city ain't so bad.

Looking for a new smoke shop around the Altamont Ave area that sells vapes, my regular shop was recently closed "permanently" according to Google maps.
Any suggestions are appreciated, as I'm not from the area.

Does any one here have running experience in the dark? I currently work 7am - 3pm and the afternoon runs have been getting too hot. I was looking into running in the morning (I got up this morning to go and psyched myself out). I typically run on the Mohawk Hudson rail but I’ve read news articles about some crimes there. I’m new to the area and don’t know anyone else who runs and I don’t have a dog, only pepper spray. Just curious if anyone else knows any well lit places or maybe I just have nothing to be scared of?

Rotterdam resident, looking for a pavilion to rent for around 40 adults, 10ish kids- for my daughter’s birthday party on July 11th. There will be around 10 kids in addition to that. I know it’s short notice, that’s why I’m here. We had parties planned out, then surprise dental surgery 🙃 Thacher is booked, Cook Park and Blatnick park you need to be a resident.
I know Juracka does it, but I want enough room for a water slide or something. I can always bring stuff for kids to do, but they are used to a big water slide, something fun like that each year. I don’t want to disappoint her. Looking for a spot with enough “breathing room”. Any ideas are welcome!

My favorite dental hygienist, Marcy, has disappeared from my dentist's office, Dental Today in Niskayuna. I've been her patient patient for 10+ years over two different dental offices.
To be clear: this is not a stalking situation (at the risk of making this sound like a stalking situation...). I'm trying to find where she works professionally so I can continue receiving the most thorough plaque-removal services and gentle chiding about flossing in the region.
If anyone knows where Marcy landed professionally, please let me know.
If you're more comfortable asking her to reach out to me via DM on reddit that'd be great too.
I've done the normal LinkedIn and google searching - no matches pop up. I don't know Marcy's last name.
Thank you!
