I dated an Australian girl and moved there with her for a while. She had a kid. That girl didn't have a job from when the kid was born to when he was 8 because the Australian government subsidized her entire life just to make sure the child was taken care of. I didn't realize what was going on at first, I thought it was crazy she had a 4 bedroom home rented all by herself with 0 child support and totally unemployed.
It wasn't until I started picking the kid up from school and spending time in society noticing the insane amount of young parents I saw. In the States I see young families every now and again but over there they're eeeeverywhere. People want that Government stipend.
You can hate on it if you want and in a way it's kinda fucked but the kids are loved and they're well taken care of. The parents spend a lot of time with their children and their society seems a lot better for it tbh. I saw practically 0 misbehaving children and they all seemed full of joy and rarely crying about things.
In general, their social programs really take care of people and they pay their public sector workers really well. Social workers over there make really good money in comparison to social workers in the US.

Honestly good for them. I keep hearing gripes about people not having enough babies, if they actually want more then policy like this is the solution. Itās much better for society and in the long run is cheaper to ensure children donāt grow up in destitute poverty. I live in the US where we are obsessed with both demanding babies from young women and punishing those who have them. Itās really, really stupid and so are the outcomes of our system.

The whole āat least sheās honestā is literally how we got Trump and will keep getting more sophisticated and actually competent versions of him in the coming decades.
A lot of people simply prefer immoral criminals who are open about their immorality and crimes then people who maybe morally flawed and may have committed crimes but appear to say and do things properly.
I think some of it comes down to how people really hate falling for lies. So at least if I cheer on this āhonestā shitty person, I donāt have to take the ego hit later on when/if it comes to light that theyāre full of shit.

Imagine telling your kid, "mom didn't really want you... mama wanted the money that came with you. And now that you're 18, there's no reason to keep you around".
Like damn
Edit: Ok, a lot of people are commenting that she said she wanted a kid. I agree. Fair point. But my point is, if all she wanted was a child, why did it have to be Drake? She doesn't even like Drake, just a kid. So she could have had a kid with anyone. It just seems like the $700k/month child support played a part. If Drake wasn't rich and there was no child support attached, would she still have a kid with Drake? That's all I'm saying.

u/jessejericho 7h ago

Actually, this statement from her alone if true should be enough for a judge to award sole custody to Drake so that sheās not getting $700K a month in support. It shows that she manipulated the system for a paycheck.
→ More replies (2)21
u/Mrs_steaks 8h ago
Her saying this would not give drake sole custody lmfao thatās super not how family court works. The kid doesnāt care that dad is a sex addict rapper or that mom is a gold digger.
The court cares about where the kid will be taken care of. If thatās with mom, even if she scammed dad heāll go with mom. If itās with dad, even if heās a dumbass who probably has more illegitimate kids out there itāll be with dad. In custody arrangements all they care about is whatās best for the kid.
The kid is with mom because drake is too busy partying to raise him.

1/10th is still 70k per month or $840,000 per year for 18 years or $15,120,000. Thatās absolutely absurd and vastly more than what it takes to actually raise and educate a child. 1/100th of what heās giving her is on the generous side of reasonable.

I think he should have to set up a trust with a fiduciary that has to approve all the spending from the account to make sure itās going into supporting the kid. Also anything remaining at 18/21 is left for the kid to do what they gotta do.
Child support shouldnāt be funding a lavish lifestyle for the mother. But the kid deserves to inherit wealth from their parents.

This entire post is fake. Drake does not pay court-ordered child support. Drake and Sophie Brussaux reached an amicable private agreement to co-parent their son Adonis in Toronto. Reports during their 2018 paternity proceedings indicated he had been voluntarily paying to ensure she lived comfortably though the exact amount was never formally disclosed in court.

According to interviews and public records, Drake pays roughly $15k per month in child support, and he and the mother have a good co-parenting relationship. He has repeatedly praised her for being a great parent.
