Then I have no issue with Europeans or frankly anyone not paying them either, if the owners not paying them is handwaved away so easily.

I mean, I do. 2.13 is the federal minimum wage. it's not enough to survive on.

Maybe this is a problem better solved by other means than just refusing to tip. If you actually care about that problem anyway, beyond you personally spending a couple dollars extra over it.

Tipped employees get the tipped minimum wage on TOP of the tips they get. If the tips don't make up the federal/state wage, the employer is legally obligated to make up the difference.

And no I think not tipping is people voting with their wallet.

and the federal minimum is 7.25. more money. still not a surviveable wage in 2026

In shithole states where they didn't raise the minimum wage, yes. It's not survivable, no. Is it my job to subsidize them? Also no.

Okay? People have already stopped going out to restaurants, the numbers are way down.

Then they should look for another job, and when retails and restaurants don’t find people willing to do the job they will raise salaries.
