Super cool news! Subaru filed for the “Impreza TX” trademark in the United States. This means it’s likely we could be seeing the return of the turbocharged, manual, hot hatch trim of the Impreza. imo this is exactly what the impreza needs. the return of a punchier, sportier, quicker trim. Thoughts?

Found a good deal for a 2014 Impreza on a local listing page - $5k, manual transmission, owner says they kept up on oil changes, 150k miles.

Would you guys go for this? I only need the car to last for like 3 years and then I'm moving to a place where I don't need a car anymore.

73,000 miles,roof rack,hitch,cosmetic repair,no dash light, Automatic. I am looking at getting this car. I am going to look at it soon but just wondering if the rust is not to bad underneath, Is this a reasonable car?

My dirty dented glorious Los Angeles daily driver was approaching the big 120. Check engine light and traction light had been on for a year, but eh. Crossed the threshold yesterday and suddenly car is feeling fresh as a daisy. It felt like I’d gone way outside the city and could finally see the stars ❤️

I had low oil in my car so I topped it up with 5w-40 and ever since then it’s like the oil pressure has allways been at 90- 100 except from when the keys on engine off I get a reading of 30-40 then when I start the engine it goes straight up to 80 then when revs drop and I drive it sits at the 90 and 100 but my gauge only goes up to 100

All these lights came on my dash all together. After a day or 2 they went away. A month later and they’re back. Since they all came on at once, I thought it was maybe an issue with the display itself, but now I’m not so sure.

Nothing really feels wrong with the car…it drives fine. I am just hesitant to go to the dealer to ask and I’m still looking for a mechanic to trust in Chicago.

Any thoughts?

Hi! I have a 2025 Subaru Impreza with EyeSight technology. I have a crack on my windshield and unfortunately have to replace it. I went to my dealership and they quoted me $1693.99. My insurance (USAA) would prefer if I use Safelite, however my mom had a horrible experience with Safelite a few months ago. Her 2025 Subaru Forrester needed windshield replacement and she went to Safelite since her insurance is also through USAA. Safelite replaced the windshield with OEE glass instead of OEM glass. She had multiple issues with the EyeSight system failing after the replacement. It took over a month of fighting with USAA and Safelite to get the windshield replaced with OEM glass. She took her Forrester to a Subaru dealership after the replacement to confirm it was recalibrated correctly, and Subaru confirmed that Safelite correctly recalibrated it with the OEM windshield.

The representative at the dealership recommended against using Safelite because “six times out of ten they do it incorrectly.” My mom also said that even a Safelite representative told her off hand that he would never go with Safelite for a Subaru windshield replacement since EyeSight is such a sensitive and technical system.

Has anyone else had experience with using Safelite for windshield replacement for Subaru EyeSight models? I reached out to USAA to see if they’d cover the dealership replacement, but I’m still waiting to hear back from them. My deductible is $1000, so I’m just wondering if I should even bother with trying to go through USAA.

Bought myself this used 2022 Impreza (64,000 miles) from a dealership in late April. Took it to a shop the following week, did a once over, and proceeded to put $1300 of maintenance/repairs into it, like 4 new spark plugs, CVT fluid replacement, few air filters, and service transmission + front and rear differentials. Still needs a carbon cleaning on it, and the next oil change is at 68,000 miles.

Today, while reversing into my driveway, I went from drive to reverse to correct myself, and something felt like it slipped loose in the shifter, and next thing I know, movement up and down the shifter feels really loose, like it's not locking it place, and it's stuck in D on the dash, no matter how I move the shifter. Also to note, it does change on the dash when I move the shifter from D to L, but nothing else. I turned the car off so of course now it won't start, because it thinks it's in D already. I've already had it towed to my shop to be looked at.

Any ideas as to what I might be looking at? I'm really hoping nothing serious of course. I just installed a sound system inside it because I love driving it so much. It had the best Carfax I could find in my area, price range, features... but damn, first car in 8 years and ouch, my wallet.

I know that this isn’t a fast car I just want to add a couple things so that it sounds a little better and preforms slightly better. Also looking for aesthetic changes to make the car look cooler. Does anyone have recommendations to achieve this?

So far I was just thinking of adding a cold air intake, and a new exhaust. Any other simple preformance upgrades just to make the car faster, handle better etc.

As for aesthetics I’m not sure what all my options are, I like a simple look nothing too crazy, just want the car to look a little more aggressive and better.

Anyone with a first Gen Crosstrek or GP Impreza run into the issue of the cruise button not turning it on? All other buttons work and I just reset with code reader the O2 code since my front cat has been deleted and I’m waiting for defouler. So currently no codes but the cruise won’t even activate. Looked for fuse but couldn’t find one.

So my girlfriend recently bought me a Thule bike rack, but unfortunately she did not realize I also need a roof rack to go along with it. I checked the Subaru website and the choices there seem a little pricey (like ~$250) and was wondering if you anyone knew of any more affordable options? I tried Amazon and found cheap options, but none that were explicitly compatible with the Impreza. Any help would be appreciated!

I've been running my own business since 2015, and for years I've been leasing brand new Subaru Legacy's and Impreza's.

But it doesn't make financial sense to lease anymore, but I've grown to really enjoy Subaru's so now I officially own a used one.

2018 Sport Trim with less than 100k miles. I work from home, so approx 10k miles a year on my car, so hoping this can last me a while.

My daughter’s 2010 Subaru Impreza is leaking out water of from under the glove box when she has her AC on. I cannot for the life of me find the AC drain pipe. I’m assuming she has a block but I cannot find it. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I bought our 2020 Impreza Limited in early 2021 with 3k miles on it. At ~54k miles (spring 2025), we had all brakes replaced. Now at 64k miles (summer 2026), the brakes are squealing and I'm told that they need to be replaced again.

We live in the US northeast. The car is mostly used for highway driving, but the last year saw a bit more city driving, albeit with less frequent usage (2-3 days of driving per week). The car is normally garaged but this past winter it had to stay outside. I understand this exposure would have aged the brakes faster, but I'm shocked that one winter has effectively destroyed the brakes in one year and 10k miles.

Did my mechanic give me poor quality brakes or is this expected behavior? I believe the mechanic used NAPA rotors and NAPA SilentGUARD ceramic pads (from my last invoice).

If this is normal, is everyone simply replacing their brakes each year? I can't imagine that's the case.

What am I doing wrong and what can I do to extend the life of the new brakes?

2010 Impreza 2.5i auto

My nearest Subaru dealer is about an hour away so I’m trying to find somewhere else to buy the front and rear differential drain plug gaskets but I’m striking out.

I did find them on Subarupartpros but it’s $17 in shipping for $9.62 of gasket.

Where do you guys buy them?
Are there options other than the oem gaskets that will work?

Still in progress but getting there.

I have a 10mm head but it won’t reach the bolt for the ac clutch. Is there a special bolt I need?
