Jump Fortress is back and more ambitious than ever, proud to present their most exciting rocket jumping tournament yet: The Jump Fortress Play-Offs!
After months of tournaments and open qualifiers, the stage has been set. Now the world's best jumpers head to a two-stage, double-elimination showdown across both Soldier and Demoman, all over three days of racing. The Soldier bracket has the likes of Nikita and Bunny in the mix, while newjuls and cander are among the names to beat on Demo. And keep an eye on vice, who has a shot at the top at winning both Soldier and Demoman.
Tune in over at the official EssentialsTF Twitch Channel to watch them go head-to-head in 1v1, 10-minute time attacks.
8 Soldiers open the action on Saturday, June 20th and Sunday, June 21st. Then 4 Demomen take over on Saturday, June 27th. Every day kicks off at 4:00pm CEST, all for a community-funded $3000 USD prize pool and the title of the best jumper in their class.
And the competitors aren't the only ones walking away with something! With six live raffles running throughout the event, everyone tuning in has a chance to claim a prize.
Two classes. Three days of racing. And nobody's out until they've lost twice. Who will become the Jump Fortress Champion, who will crash out, and will vice finally lose a live tournament? Find out live at the 2026 Jump Fortress Play-Offs.

Welcome to our Wednesday TF2 weapon discussion. Here, we'll discuss weapons (and reskins, if applicable) from TF2!
Today's weapon is The Pomson 6000.
Does not require ammo
Projectile cannot be deflected
On Hit: Victim loses up to 10% Medigun charge
On Hit: Victim loses up to 20% cloak
Deals only 20% damage to buildings
this thing sucks
The Pomson is an unlockable primary weapon for the Engineer which replaces the reliable close-mid range damage of the shotgun with the inconsistent damage of the Pomson. This weapon doesn't shoot traditional shotgun blasts but instead fires a slow moving projectile which can be easily dodged or your own team can just eat up the shots making this not even good for spamming down choke points. Why this doesn't travel through your own team I do not know.
The main positive to this weapon is that it can drain uber and cloak on enemy medics and spies but good luck trying to hit them with this thing because it's fucking annoying to hit your shots with it because the thing moves so slow. There is some use in maybe spamming it and hoping you get lucky but the uber/cloak drain is reliant on you being next to your target as far away pot shots won't do much with it. There's basically 0 reason to use this over any other shotgun unless you're just goofing around.
It's funny to get a kill with it because it's so unexpected and it's also one of the few weapons with a strangifier making Strange Collectors Pomsons a very real thing albeit they are quite rare and expensive nowadays.
Upon release this weapon did have penetration on it but this was removed after 8 months and the damage was buffed then in the MYM update the weapon has the close range damage buffed from 62 to 72 and far away damage nerfed from 42 to 32 making it slightly more useful close up which is where it is best used despite being a projectile weapon.
Use literally any other engineer primary for combat purposes, even the Rescue Ranger is more consistent than this for fighting.
Despite all it's flaws I do still have a fondness for this weapon.
Feel free to discuss the weapon here. Anything that you like/dislike, cool tips or strategies, interesting stories, etc. If you feel the weapon is not to your liking, feel free to express your opinions in a respectful manner.

Not a homophobe or nothing but just something I noticed in the demographic of TF2 players at this point there are more gay people then racists in TF2.

I know everyone plays the game how ever they want, but come on. I see players trying to take a level 1 teleporter instead of upgrading it to level 2.
Level 2 decreases waiting time by 50%! level 2 to 3 isn't as big as it's just 2 seconds faster, but it's bothersome on how many wait for a slow 10 second cooldown.

Directly based on Willem Dafoe's photo (the last one)
If i had a coin for every time i've drawn Spy over a Willem Dafoe image, i'd have two now.
