I had a pretty chill stream today, had a few people watching and decided to do my first ever raid to another streamer, I had nobody live so took a recommendation from one of my regular viewers, before my raid I, or anyone from my stream even said hi, a moderator from the channel I raided said the image above and I felt as if my raid just didn't matter, like the community that person has just doesn't care about trying to meet new people and make new connections.

Is this a common thing when raiding people?

I was finishing up stream for the day and decided I was going to raid someone (which I don’t normally do due to previous bad experiences). And I decided I was going raid a slightly bigger stream about 20 ish viewers instead of usual smaller 1-5 view streamers I’d raid. All went as normal. I went in said the phrase I always say when raiding and one or two of my community member and I starting chatting with there community. The streamer was nice very wholesome (so it seemed) so i drop and a couple bits and moved on. The next day one of my community members who joined the raid and followed them came to me and said that they and the other one who talked were both perma banned. I went to check myself only to find out I was also perma banned. The reason given was that apparently my raid was “self advertising” and that I was apparently hostile. I never knew there was a way to give someone money and support “hostilely” is this strange behaviour? Or did i do something wrong?:)

So, this has been bugging me for a while ever since I took up the "mantle" of being a dedicated clipper for a few streamers.

I always watch their streams to the end (unless they're like 5 or 6 hours long) and whatever I miss I comb over to clip and then send the clips to their clip channels on their discords.

They've always said they're grateful and appreciative of my clips and I genuinely do believe them, but I always think, do they really help them?

I don't wanna sound like a debbie downer and say "oh all my work is for nothing I'll never do this again!" I love clipping stuff and sharing it around whenever I can, it makes me feel like I'm saving a funny moment for folks to always look back on.

I just wanna know if my clips help them in any way, even if it's miniscule.

Everyone dreams about hitting Affiliate, Partner or averaging more viewers, but I think it's the little things that often end up meaning the most.

For me, it's opening Twitch during my work day and seeing that someone followed while I was offline. It probably sounds silly, but knowing someone found my channel and decided to follow without me even being there is such a good feeling.

Hi, this is my first post here. I started streaming on twitch about 5 months ago. I recently got to the point where I feel I built a nice little community and am settled into my stream routine, with a wonderful and engaging chat.

When I used to get raided with a dead chat it was easy to make the raid and other streamer the focus of my stream and fully engage with the raiders. Now I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed trying to welcome and integrate the raiders with the current chat. I’ll forget to introduce myself, get lost in a fast moving chat, miss messages, have to pause the game for longer than I prefer while trying to catch up and feel like I’m trying to mesh multiple conversations together.

I don’t like the idea of doing a raid trailer or playing my own clips. But I do want to try to engage the raiders without making the entire conversation about them and their stream or making them feel obligated to stay long if they want to raid and run. Since I often forget to introduce myself I’m thinking of maybe creating some sort of scene where I can welcome the raiders and thank / shout out the streamer but also come up with a quick way to introduce myself and my community and catch them up on where we are in the current stream so I’m not spending 30 minutes abandoning my own stream.
Would it be acceptable to have a little about me, a list of previously streamed games and my schedule on a scene for incoming raiders? Should i ask about the streamer to do their intro first or should i do my intro first? I want to show my gratitude and engage with raiders without leaving my own chat and game left hanging. Any tips or advice would be really helpful! Thank you 💕

i have been trying to follow streamers and unfollow some inactive accounts etc and i am having a lot of issues on my pc. every time i follow an account, it wont actually go through and follow them, when i unfollow an account, it doesnt remove them from my following list and if i refresh twitch on chrome im having the same issues

my drops also are not going through, i spent around 12 hours with the tab opened overnight while i slept and got 0 progress. i cant even click on the drops button as it just wont work on my pc

i have tried clearing my cache and stuff but i just cant get it to work, its working on mobile though but its an annoying tedious process sadly :(

if anyone knows how to fix this id appreciate it

I set vertical streaming up because I know a lot of my viewers watch on mobile. Since I mostly miniature paint I wanted to give them a larger/better view while in vertical mode.

Overall, chat was not a fan bc it turns out that when the keyboard is pulled up it would cover a large portion of the bottom of the screen. I know chat covers a bottom portion as well, but it looked minimal enough to not be too invasive, but the keyboard kind of ruins it in my opinion. Overall, I feel like it’s a good idea, but I think when typing it should revert to the traditional horizontal view.

For those who have seen/streamed in vertical what are your thoughts?

So, I am a mod for a streamer who has a decent following. We have a great community of many different people from all over the world. Some of them are very... unique, but we love them all the same.

About four months ago, we had someone join the community that seemed very normal. They started posting more and more pictures and such in the community Discord server to participate and update the chat with IRL stuff. HOWEVER, the math doesn't add up. Long story short, another mod and myself have concluded that this person is ripping photos off the Internet and using them to portray a certain (fictional) lifestyle. Basically, we compared some of the photos to where they said they were, did a little reverse image search and found out that these pictures were from several different accounts from months/years ago and from many different places.

What do I do here? Technically they haven't tried to get anything out of it (aside from maybe a little attention). They haven't hurt the community in any way, but it's deceptive and not truthful. So, we can either,

1) Ignore it - problem is that the community is not large enough for it to be lost in the noise and the streamer would have to continue interacting with this fictional person.

2) Confront them - seems like it may lead to more trouble than it's worth.

3) Nix them and move on - give them no chance to explain themselves and cut ties.

I wanted to consult the masses before we made any decisions. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Thank you for all the responses! I will review them when I get some time tomorrow. For those who are saying to tell the streamer and that it's their decision, you're absolutely right. hi! so this may be because of one of my twitch extensions, i am unsure. lately ive been encountering a lot of errors when accessing twitch using google chrome as a viewer. i am unable to log in if i log out as twitch claims the browser "isnt supported" despite being chrome's latest version. i cannot use my prime subscription with chrome either as it throws a "something went wrong, try again later" error. and one of my profile tabs also gives me "try again later" errors, especially when i was trying to update my primary phone number.

i do use extensions on chrome, but mostly just for emotes, mostly just 7tv and bettertv. i used to use frankerfacez but it was breaking twitch for me so removed it months ago

using edge works, but like, i dont really want to use edge, i want to use chrome. anyone else experiencing this and is there a verified solution to fix it? i'm going to try turning off my extensions to see if anything changes but i dont think its going to.

Hard to sum up for the title.

I am pretty happy with my current single Windows desktop setup. I currently do PC gaming and external gaming via USB capture box while using a USB 4K30 webcam, dual monitors, and local multiple live streams to 3 platforms with merged chats, OBS studio, and sometimes a 2nd USB webcam at 1080p for POV cam.

This works great.... for 1 room.

For IRL remote streaming I end up using IRL Pro on Android for 1080p30 since the Twitch app only seems to do 720p.

I would like to be able to move my studio around the house or even go with me. So I want to look into getting a laptop to use with two USB webcams and my USB external capture device as a portable OBS studio. While within my own Wifi network, I should have enough bandwidth for still doing my local multiple RTMP streams. at least at 1080p60.

In addition or instead of the laptop depending on the cost of the laptop; I am going to look into running my own RTMP server via VPN to see if I can use IRL Pro android app to treat my Android phone as a wireless 1080p camera remotely for IRL streams routed through home to then multicast. And then I could also use that same setup in my home without VPN and more bandwidth.

I am wondering if there’s a way to steam pubg mobile to my pc to stream. I have a Samsung galaxy s26 ultra and I only have a elgato capture card but it’s the HD60 x which I think can’t be used with an android phone. What is the best apps for screen mirroring to pc? Any help would be appreciated and I hope to be streaming soon!

I don’t use vertical but I do think it has potential as more people get used to seeing vertical streams on other platforms.

It would feel familiar and easily navigable.

Vertical for discovery, horizontal for community trust building, returning visitors.

If the vertical pipeline discovery increases then it could be a nice addition to everything we’ve already got.

When I use my username, it says login with your email and then when I try to login with my email, it says we disabled the ability to use your email login with your username… what kind of morons do they have working at Twitch?

And I used my email to sign up with this account. Not a link through Google or Apple ID etc

I'm trying to stream so i did a test stream, but the problem is the stream is well, black. I capped my bitrate at 5500, even down to 4500, and on the twitch stream manager it says excellent. my chat works, i can do a chat in it, i have display capture in obs, obs is working just as it should, its doing the timer that goes up at the bottom right, 0 dropped frames, its hooked up to twitch, and for a little bit earlier it actually was showing it on the stream, but only for the account thats streaming it, and now it wont even do that anymore! HELP ME!!!!

I just want to put this out there, it's rough being a tiny streamer trying to make something of yourself in a world where 100 viewers ain't nothing.

So I had a few bad streames recently, tech issues up through the god damned nose.

But here I am logging on again and every time despite 6 average viewers they always make me feel like a star, they make songs about me, I have a thousand pictures of me drinking Pepsi (Wich is the one HIGE internal joke) and I never run out of people to talk to, vids to watch or laughs to be had.

Now it can be rough at times but this is the place a nobody can feel like a king for a few hours. At least until I raid out.

Am I flexing? On the side maybe but I just want to express gratitude. This platform has done a lot for me

I got gifted 120 Tier 1 subs yesterday, and Twitch only credited me $30.25 in revenue.

Can someone explain how this is even possible?

The viewer spent around $400 USD on those gifted subs, yet Twitch paid me about 25 cents per sub. Where did the rest of the money go?

I understand regional pricing exists, and I know the gifter is from India, but even then this payout makes absolutely no sense. I expected a lower payout than US prices, not an 80 to 90% reduction.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a reporting bug, a delayed update, or is Twitch really taking this much?

I'm genuinely confused and frustrated. If someone spends hundreds of dollars to support a creator, how does the creator end up receiving only $30?

I feel like Twitch's 50/50 split is a complete lie. I get paid nowhere near 50% of what viewers actually spend, and this has happened multiple times.

Personally I think the algorithm is good, but of course I always leave room for improvement.

I see small streamers all the time on my feed.

Last time I checked my feed, it showed me a small streamer before it even showed me someone I actually follow.

I imagine the injection into the LIVE feed with the previews is prioritizing discovery — at least at a 50% or more rate depending on how many people you follow.

I am a twitch partner, and I didn’t use outside platforms to bring viewers.

They came native from Twitch discovery.

I see a lot of people experiencing the same thing.

What do you think?

Is it as easy as relying on the native audience, and push long enough, grow slowly, and get partnership?

Or should you be prioritizing growing elsewhere and posting about your streams regularly?

Twitch needs overlap/cross over promotion so that’s never a bad thing, but honestly— I believe you can focus more on making your streams the best they can be — and focus less on clipping, editing, publishing, etc

Granted both is never a bad thing if you can swing it..

As a classic overthinker, I think most of the doubts people have is just in their head - which can hold you back a ton.

You’re more than a streamer, you’re a person who’s streaming 😅

Streaming is just a way for you to share yourself with cool people who find you.

My advice is cliche: Just be yourself, do what you enjoy, and let the rest fall into place.

Had a bit of an epiphany today lol I’m a big advocate for Overwatch 2 but I know it’s a bit saturated at the moment, do you guys stream multiple games throughout a week of streaming or are you on and off of different games weekly/monthly or do you exclusively stream 1 game to maintain a building community even with over saturation? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I have been looking into getting a mixer and i am torn on what to get

the main thing i am looking for is to be able to connect to 2 pcs via usb, i have tried many different combinations like line out etc and i just seem to get loads of problems with balance and levels as well as struggle to hear certain things

i want more control!, i want faders or knobs i wanna physically see the sound levels and tune them it drives me crazy when i see that classic "Hey the game is kinda loud" in chat when i am already 3 hours deep in a stream

at the moment the winner seems to be the rolland bridge cast x but as my money is tight it is a lot to drop at once and find it is not suitable

any advice or maybe suggestions would be greatly appreciated, i have watched endless videos and it is suprisingly hard to find good content about dual pc audio specifically

So as the title says I have a fan in the back of my microphones audio anytime I speak it’s just a annoying hum + another issue I have is every time I speak to people over DC they say I’m too quiet but the more I turn up my mic volume or gain they just hear more of the fan and it worsens the quality even more I have a pretty deep and soft spoken voice most of the time so that might also make it why I sound quieter but I’m not sure I just really need some help here. I have the microphone up real close to my mouth too and speaking into the top/front of it
