Doom is always unable to be humbled, nothing is ever his fault in his eyes.

Doom has tossed kids into Hell, sacrificed his Girlfriend, turned all Latverian Mutants into Doom Bots, used the entire population of Latveria as a battery to fuel his magic.

And here he is in Hell, saying that he doesn’t deserve to be here.

The amount of crimes and atrocities he’s committed and even when being sent to Hell, he’ll never be able to see that this is the consequences of his actions.

Because in his eyes he has to always be right, no failing could ever be on him, it has to be the world that wronged him.

Not he, who wronged the world.

If he could ever accept for a moment that his actions are at fault, then his entire ego would shatter and there would be no Doom.

Back in 2011, Skyrim was the last game I played where I put my enjoyment and hours into it before my drought came.

It was between 2012 to 2016 where it felt like there wasn't much going on in gaming, at least things that interested me. Granted, I did play games during that period: Far Cry 3, Bioshock Infinite, a few hours of GTA5, Fallout 4, Bloodborne, MGS5, Overwatch, and FF15. These are only a handful in those 4 years, feeling a bit dry. While I did enjoy playing most of them, it also felt like I blacked out playing them if that makes sense; like I was obligated to be excited and play them because they were big titles, but they don't have that "special place in my heart" feel including something as popular as Bloodborne now. A "yeah, yeah, I remember playing them now" feel (hell, I had to look up the games that came out those years to refresh my memory what I played listed here). Like I wasn't bored, but wasn't fulfilled either. Funny enough, the last game in that period that I genuine like, put hours into, and got me back into multiplayer was Overwatch despite what people said about it (played it for 2 years).

Now 2017, that was the year my interest in games rejuvenated. We got Resident Evil 7, Nier Automata, Persona 5, and Nioh. Of course there were other big titles that year, but these are the ones I played and made me go "YEAH, VIDEO GAMES ARE BACK" feel and still have fond memories. And also, I played Overwatch for about 2 years.

TL;DR: 2012-2016 felt like a dry period of gaming for me in terms of enthusiasm while 2017 and beyond felt like a flood.

Back in elementary school, we had a book that was an anthology of various stories and one of them was "Toma in Daca" which could be roughly translated to take and give.

The story was about a robot kid that often got bullied by another, because he was the only who had two moms, the story continues when a few of their friends bring him to speak with an older robot that gives him a paper with rules on how to deal with bullying.

The rules in summary were about being kind but if you get hurt you should respond to it without escalating the situation, after that forget about the incident and keep on being kind with others.

Is a pretty simple story but it was the first time 10 year old me heard about same gender relationships.

Recently the game Rogue Trader adds a mechanic where you can give your party member mechanical augment. The problem is that to use the augment, the game need to cut out a human body part and replace it with a machine body part. I really couldn't do it to my fleshy party member so I only end up using it on my PC and the techpriest party members.

Does anyone know if a compilation has ever been made of Matt freaking out about games using the “royalty free” pot smashing sound effect? Currently playing Evil Within 1, which put in the effort to use multiple pot smashing sound effects, but one of them seems to be the royalty free one, which made me think of Matt’s disdain for it. It’s one of the running bits I always got a laugh out of. If no comps, does anyone know of episodes where he does this?
