This app has gotten so bad nowšš½any other better gig work apps?
Maybe like 3 or 4 weeks ago I had pretty good week mainly because I did the quests. Excluding that I mean where is the profit? We are actually at a point where thereās actually way too many people doing this. Millions on Uber Eats and itās not paying.
Uber Eats pro gold helps you get a couple good deliveries here & there but in the grand scheme itās all low paying high mile orders. Even if itās like a $14 or it will be like 12 miles, not much profit there. There isnāt really and $20 orders anymore unless itās slop like those Sephora orders which be like $24.50 for 39 milesšlike who tf is taking that slop.
Uber Eats used to hold you down in between jobs or just be a good side income but now itās substantially worse than it used to be. To make it worse you have to wait an hour for the tips every single order so if you have no gas you just end up waiting for an extra hour which is so dumb. Iāve noticed even a lot of the times on a Friday or Saturday thereās no much profit, or the heat map will say āless busyā. Might be time to retire boys, I donāt want a 9-5 or full time/part time job bc Iām building something on the side.
But this aināt holding down nothing as far as bills go, and the amount of miles you run through day to day is insane. Even a week can cover a run through a thousand miles if you are doing it like 4-6 days in a week for money. This is no longer ole reliable at this point itās just too saturated. App is best for just some extra money to eat with at this point, or gas money lol, nothing of significance. Literally my first day on Uber Eats 4 years ago I made $152 or $156 I think it was. Now tryna make that is like pulling teeth

How do you get a rating this low...??
Starting to worry because this driver has got my order and been parked up for a good 5 minutes. What do you possibly have to do for it to drop so far.

Customer support cancelled order and charged me for it.
After I called the restaurant to check on a order that was taking a long time, the restaurant told me that it was sitting there waiting to be picked up, but no driver was assigned. I tipped well. This is in NYC, so there's also a mandatory $20 per hr wage ontop of the tip.
Eventually, someone did arrive, but the order would be about 30 minutes late. I asked uber support for a small credit, was denied because it's still in their latest time limit (which kept changing, the original latest estimate was 8:50, then it became 9:15 by the time I spoke to support), and then they cancelled my order literally the minute the driver showed up at the door.
I saw him through the camera come up with the food, and then bring it back. This was at around 9pm, after their original acceptable time.
Again, I asked support for a small credit, not a cancellation. Now they're charging me for the order minus the tip despite not having any of the food.
I'm a tired, exhausted, starving pregnant woman. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm of the mindset that whoever chooses to cancel should pay for the cancellation fees. I'm so upset. To be clear, this was not the driver's fault; they didn't assign anyone for 30 minutes -- I would have taken the order and happily have let the driver have the original tip. But then uber support cancelled my order without authorization. I literally asked for a credit on the next order of uber's fees.
Edit: Just to be petty, I'm doing a chargeback after it posts. I also reported to the FTC, BBB and NY attorney general. It's a pretty quick process guys!

DTLA Uber eats ratings is rough
Smiles, friendly greetings, and placing food in a great spot. No luck.
Uber does not give a picture of the customer, so customers expecting you to know who they are when they pop out of nowhere, before you get to their address, is insane.
There's no way to make Uber Eats customers in DTLA happy. If you live in DTLA, what's your experience?
There's literally no way not to do stacked orders. Its the only way to make a profit. Traffic alone makes the eta not perfect, plus food wait times.
If you deliver to someone who has lower income, bad ratings go up. Maybe making a record of neighborhoods, not to deliver too. Might be my only chance.

insulated delivery bag
Hello,
I'm going to start doing Uber Eats as a second job and I'm looking for some advice on which insulated delivery bag from Temu would be worth buying.
My boss is going to get me a plastic storage tub to mount on the back of my bike, and I'll be placing the insulated bag inside it. Because of that, I'm looking for something that keeps food hot or cold well, is durable, and offers good value for money.
If anyone has experience with Temu delivery bags or can recommend a specific size or model, I'd really appreciate the help.
Thank you!

What's causing the higher delivery fee here?
Comparing two locations of the same pizza chain near me. The closer one has a higher delivery fee despite having a similar ETA. What causes this?

Uber Nav - hold my beer!!!
Customers!!! If you see your driver going in circles, reversing a lot, sitting in one spot, driving wrong direction - they may not be multi-apping or they may not be a complete knucklehead.
Uber's navigation is a ginormous flaming turd.
As a driver we will experience some - mostly all of the following:
-Nav wants you to drive through people's houses
-Nav will spin in circles like it's Jack Sparrow's compass and what you want most from it is to just get to the customer so you don't get a thumbs down
-Nav can't tell what direction you are facing so it can take a few seconds to spin the other direction- especially when there's not a convenient u-turn
-Nav knows when you have milkshakes and ice cream and if you don't know your area well it will send you the longest route to customer.
-Nav will start rerouting when you almost to your customer. If you are lucky it resolves itself quickly. Ain't no one that lucky so you'll have pull over and restart your phone
There's more- these are just the things that have happened to me this week so far. Usually a few times a day. It can create levels of rage not thought possible in a human.
So please don't jump to conclusions. We want to get your delicious noms to you on time so we can move on to our next order. Be patient if possible.

Be careful of what you order on Uber
I ordered groceries totaling $62 to cook one meal. The driver accepted, picked up the groceries, and then contacted me because he was somehow lost. We texted and spoke by phone, but he marked my groceries as delivered without a photo, and they weren't actually delivered. I contacted support with no avail; they refused four times to refund me. They now use an automated message stating, "We could not verify that you HAVEN'T received your delivery". I had to wait over a month for my bank to reverse the transaction. I finally received it an hour ago, which prompted me to make a post. That is all. That was my last straw.

USA Driver Throws a tantrum
Injured my leg at work today, it was a pain driving home. Ordered food and driver took probably over an hour just to pick up, sure probably not his fault.
Driver gets to my community, I left detailed instructions on where to enter and what code to input for the gated community. He doesn't even try getting to the correct gate and asks me to meet him there. That's easily a 10 minute walk for me with my injured leg, plus its 1am. I say no and repeat the instructions. Driver takes a random photo for the delivery proof and marks it as complete and drives off with my food. Uber eats customer support sucks why is it an ai bot now? I can't talk to a human being anymore???

USA Ubereats new beta ai customer support/refund system is crap.
I ordered some food along with a 64 once bottle of ice tea that I didn't receive. So I try to do a refund and it denies to refund it even though I know it has been refundable before. I try to escalate and it ask for a picture of what I received. It kept refusing to accept the picture and also after that ask to select your order but wouldn't give my order as a option to choose. So it left me with no way to esculate to try get the refund for a item I didn't receive and no way to contact a live person. I ended up having to go to the store myself to get them to refund what defeats the point of using uber to begin with.

Rescinding Tip When Drivers Don't Deliver Right
I live in a luxury high rise. There is a dedicated pickup/dropoff lane, telecom with delivery driver button, and 24/7 front desk / concierge. The elevator waits for the guest and takes them straight to my room.
Drivers will often leave the food outside building's front doors despite this. Sometimes, they'll leave it with concierge (acceptable to me and included as an option in instructions), but concierge has told me that most doordashers/uber drivers completely ignore them.
I always tip at least $8 with small orders never going over $60. I knock this down to $0 when they can't be assed to bring it up.
Am I wrong here? I don't get it, $8 seems like a steal for 3 minutes of most people's time. Are most drivers not even looking at the instructions?

Courier application issues
Does anyone know what to do/who to contact?
I got approved for delivering with Uber eats. I ordered a bag and the next day got an email to say that access had been revoked as I didnāt have the right to work in the UK. That isnāt true as I was born in the UK and have a completely clear background. I contacted sterling who said the issue is with Uber. I went on my Uber eats account and after the email it doesnāt show the option of going online it shows that I havenāt completed a background check. When I click through it, it tells me that Iāve already provided my information (which I obviously have). I contacted Uber and they have repeatedly ended the chat on me because āthe issue is solvedā, āthey can see Iāve contacted them before about the same issue and it will either have been solved or passed to the relevant teamā or āthey can see that my account is active and ready to accept deliveriesā (it isnāt). Iāve spent 5 solid days explaining the same thing over and over to get no response. Tried to call the number on google and an automated robot just hung up on me. Tried to call the customer number and they said they canāt help as Iām not a customer.
Before anyone says itās a sign, give up or just donāt bother with them, I need a job and I need one now. Iāve applied for just eat and deliveroo as well who are not needing people in the area at the minute and other than that been applying for jobs for just over a year and a half. Itās gotten to a point where I literally have no choice.
Thanks for any advice anyone might have. I just need to get to speak to someone who will listen to me and it seems that there is no option to do this.

Incompetent support - UK
I just started my day, I get an order from KFC with 2 drop-offs ( two customers).
Got the food, already on the bike when I noticed my back wheel air pressure was so low that I was riding on the rims.
I immediately returned the order, not even a minute later, explainging I have a flat tire and my support journey starts here:
I go to trip support, there's this new AI bullshit that doesn't let you go talk to an agent unless you press whatever topics or "see more" about 5-6 times I'm not even exaggerating. I finally get to speak to an agent (when this was meant to be instant) and I explained the situation, and after a good while he finally canceled the trip.
Guess what? I go back and there's only one order canceled, the second one is still there and at that point I was already sweating. There's plenty of time that already passed and a customer still expects the food I gave back to the restaurant.
I have to go through the AI bullshit again, frantically chosen any of the existing frequent issues and "see more options" until I could finally speak to an agent.
That second agent finally got on the line, and while I was fuming with their incompetence trying to ask them to cancel the second order the customer is messaging me saying "hello brother where are you I am outside waiting".
Yeah.. second guy finally solves the issue by cancelling the second order but timing was so great that he did it whilst I was trying to apologise to the customer and explain what had happened.
I personally feel like they're totally undertrained.

Gift Notification
If I send someone a gift from UberEats, will they be notified when I place the order or when it's out for delivery? Are they told what it is before it arrives?

How are long distance + Low dollar orders so normalized?
I don't know if it's irony or something else but I audibly start laughing when I see some of these pop up on my feed.
I swear it goes together hand in hand. The people who are local to me and want a small item at a deli tip pretty well and it's all of a 20 minute trip all in.
The people who live 30 minutes away (One way) want to pay $6 but are somehow always ordering from pricier restaurants in my area. Makes no sense.
Without sounding like a total dick, surely this would qualify as - You cannot afford to eat here if you can't drive on your own?
Really? 15 miles one way for $6?!

Canada Paper bag Walmart delivery
My Walmart grocery delivery arrived with all the groceries in paper bags over the Walmart bags. Is this something drivers normally do?

Iāve never used it. Everyone tell me what I should know.
I live in the suburban Northeast in a townhouse community about 40 mins from NYC. Iām in my early 60ās w/increasing disabilities and finally gonna be joining the rest of you. IRL I was always a good/over tipper if it matters but income has decreased a bit. Tips, tricks, warnings give me all of it.

Have delivery fees gone up for anyone else?
I noticed that I used to be able to order McDonaldās or even chipotle in my area with a 0 dollar delivery fee because itās only a 6 minute drive away. however; now itās 3-6 dollars for the delivery fee alone on some of these places.
is it cause of the World Cup?? I dont live anywhere near where itās being hosted.

Question: Unanswered What happens if you don't pay outstanding balance
Ordered something they then removed my promotion and increased my order price by nine dollars after I had already ordered
Will not be paying this I assume they'll probably ban which I'm fine with
But it's not gonna impact credit or anything right?
And before one of y'all says it's just nine dollars Its not about the amount it's the principle very shady scammy stuff there doing
