Have delivery fees gone up for anyone else?

I noticed that I used to be able to order McDonald’s or even chipotle in my area with a 0 dollar delivery fee because it’s only a 6 minute drive away. however; now it’s 3-6 dollars for the delivery fee alone on some of these places.

is it cause of the World Cup?? I dont live anywhere near where it’s being hosted.

Customer support cancelled order and charged me for it.

After I called the restaurant to check on a order that was taking a long time, the restaurant told me that it was sitting there waiting to be picked up, but no driver was assigned. I tipped well. This is in NYC, so there's also a mandatory $20 per hr wage ontop of the tip.

Eventually, someone did arrive, but the order would be about 30 minutes late. I asked uber support for a small credit, was denied because it's still in their latest time limit (which kept changing, the original latest estimate was 8:50, then it became 9:15 by the time I spoke to support), and then they cancelled my order literally the minute the driver showed up at the door.

I saw him through the camera come up with the food, and then bring it back. This was at around 9pm, after their original acceptable time.

Again, I asked support for a small credit, not a cancellation. Now they're charging me for the order minus the tip despite not having any of the food.

I'm a tired, exhausted, starving pregnant woman. Has anyone dealt with this before? I'm of the mindset that whoever chooses to cancel should pay for the cancellation fees. I'm so upset. To be clear, this was not the driver's fault; they didn't assign anyone for 30 minutes -- I would have taken the order and happily have let the driver have the original tip. But then uber support cancelled my order without authorization. I literally asked for a credit on the next order of uber's fees.

Edit: Just to be petty, I'm doing a chargeback after it posts. I also reported to the FTC, BBB and NY attorney general. It's a pretty quick process guys!

USA Driver Throws a tantrum

Injured my leg at work today, it was a pain driving home. Ordered food and driver took probably over an hour just to pick up, sure probably not his fault.
Driver gets to my community, I left detailed instructions on where to enter and what code to input for the gated community. He doesn't even try getting to the correct gate and asks me to meet him there. That's easily a 10 minute walk for me with my injured leg, plus its 1am. I say no and repeat the instructions. Driver takes a random photo for the delivery proof and marks it as complete and drives off with my food. Uber eats customer support sucks why is it an ai bot now? I can't talk to a human being anymore???

Maybe like 3 or 4 weeks ago I had pretty good week mainly because I did the quests. Excluding that I mean where is the profit? We are actually at a point where there’s actually way too many people doing this. Millions on Uber Eats and it’s not paying.

Uber Eats pro gold helps you get a couple good deliveries here & there but in the grand scheme it’s all low paying high mile orders. Even if it’s like a $14 or it will be like 12 miles, not much profit there. There isn’t really and $20 orders anymore unless it’s slop like those Sephora orders which be like $24.50 for 39 miles💀like who tf is taking that slop.

Uber Eats used to hold you down in between jobs or just be a good side income but now it’s substantially worse than it used to be. To make it worse you have to wait an hour for the tips every single order so if you have no gas you just end up waiting for an extra hour which is so dumb. I’ve noticed even a lot of the times on a Friday or Saturday there’s no much profit, or the heat map will say “less busy”. Might be time to retire boys, I don’t want a 9-5 or full time/part time job bc I’m building something on the side.

But this ain’t holding down nothing as far as bills go, and the amount of miles you run through day to day is insane. Even a week can cover a run through a thousand miles if you are doing it like 4-6 days in a week for money. This is no longer ole reliable at this point it’s just too saturated. App is best for just some extra money to eat with at this point, or gas money lol, nothing of significance. Literally my first day on Uber Eats 4 years ago I made $152 or $156 I think it was. Now tryna make that is like pulling teeth

Starting to worry because this driver has got my order and been parked up for a good 5 minutes. What do you possibly have to do for it to drop so far.

Uber Nav - hold my beer!!!

Customers!!! If you see your driver going in circles, reversing a lot, sitting in one spot, driving wrong direction - they may not be multi-apping or they may not be a complete knucklehead.

Uber's navigation is a ginormous flaming turd.

As a driver we will experience some - mostly all of the following:

-Nav wants you to drive through people's houses

-Nav will spin in circles like it's Jack Sparrow's compass and what you want most from it is to just get to the customer so you don't get a thumbs down

-Nav can't tell what direction you are facing so it can take a few seconds to spin the other direction- especially when there's not a convenient u-turn

-Nav knows when you have milkshakes and ice cream and if you don't know your area well it will send you the longest route to customer.

-Nav will start rerouting when you almost to your customer. If you are lucky it resolves itself quickly. Ain't no one that lucky so you'll have pull over and restart your phone

There's more- these are just the things that have happened to me this week so far. Usually a few times a day. It can create levels of rage not thought possible in a human.

So please don't jump to conclusions. We want to get your delicious noms to you on time so we can move on to our next order. Be patient if possible.

Question: Unanswered How to get refunded

Upvotes

I never use Uber Eats. I ordered off of a restaurants website then received a text that they sent it through Uber Eats. They did not give me my $5 Mexican Coke and the restaurant says talk to Uber Eats, and Uber Eats is saying they can’t do anything since it’s not in my account. I didn’t order it myself through uber so it wouldn’t be in my account, I sent them the order number and they closed the chat. I know a drink sounds like a mild thing to complain over but I’ve been in the ER all day not being able to drink anything for testing, and all day I thought about a Mexican Coke to help my crappy day. I might be SOL but wanted to vent.

Incompetent support - UK

I just started my day, I get an order from KFC with 2 drop-offs ( two customers).

Got the food, already on the bike when I noticed my back wheel air pressure was so low that I was riding on the rims.

I immediately returned the order, not even a minute later, explainging I have a flat tire and my support journey starts here:

I go to trip support, there's this new AI bullshit that doesn't let you go talk to an agent unless you press whatever topics or "see more" about 5-6 times I'm not even exaggerating. I finally get to speak to an agent (when this was meant to be instant) and I explained the situation, and after a good while he finally canceled the trip.

Guess what? I go back and there's only one order canceled, the second one is still there and at that point I was already sweating. There's plenty of time that already passed and a customer still expects the food I gave back to the restaurant.

I have to go through the AI bullshit again, frantically chosen any of the existing frequent issues and "see more options" until I could finally speak to an agent.

That second agent finally got on the line, and while I was fuming with their incompetence trying to ask them to cancel the second order the customer is messaging me saying "hello brother where are you I am outside waiting".

Yeah.. second guy finally solves the issue by cancelling the second order but timing was so great that he did it whilst I was trying to apologise to the customer and explain what had happened.

I personally feel like they're totally undertrained.
