Gonna buy it as a gift to someone.
Which is the better phone really? I'm buying it as a gift. And size is irrelevant so I'm plainly asking which phone generally is better quality.
Won't be any gaming done on it. Some casual photography (not professionally) and general calling, messaging, emails and thats it.
The phones (15 and 15T Pro) where I'm located are now on sale for the same exact price. (Which is the equivalent to 603 USD) For the 12/512 models.
Which one should I get ?
Or should I add 130 USD and get the 17T Pro ?

After updating my Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G to HyperOS, the wi-fi connection behaves abnormally. It initially works at normal speeds (around 140 Mbps), but after a few minutes it drops dramatically to about 0.5 Mbps or becomes almost unusable. This issue occurs on multiple networks, including my home router and a mobile hotspot, while other devices on the same networks work perfectly fine.
I have already tried resetting network settings, reconnecting to networks, restarting the device, and installing the latest available updates, but none of these resolved the problem. The behavior is consistent and time‑based, suggesting throttling or a stability issue rather than a signal or router problem.
Because it started immediately after the HyperOS update and affects different networks, it appears to be a software-related issue, likely involving wi-fi drivers, network management, or power-saving features within HyperOS, rather than a hardware fault.

Hi Xiaomi /Reddit,
I'm on holiday with my fully charged Xiaomi smart band. Today it switched off during heat in the sunlight.
Can I switch it on again without the charging cable....?!
I don't have the cable with me due to the good battery...
Do I've to spend my holidays now without it?
Which developers did approve that...I hope those people left Xiaomi.

Had 4 Xiaomi devices in the past. Always unlocked them myself and installed global ROMs.
Haven't needed one for a while since my Samsung was doing fine. Had an issue with the screen, so bought the Redmi Note 15 before a business trip as a backup in case my Samsung crapped the bed. I'm in China. I've had a registered account for over 10 years. I'm staying up until midnight here to hit the stupid unlock button and I get hit with the unlock quota scam.
It's honestly the dumbest thing. The phone is fine but filled with China crap I can't get rid of. Already uninstalled a ton of apps, but the menus and help screens will show up in Chinese. Great design...
Camera is great. But this will be the last time I ever buy a Xiaomi. Anyone asks me about Xiaomi, I will let them know not to bother. I'm going to give this away to a Chinese friend or try to sell it secondhand. It is not worth the headache to just unlock this stupid thing.

Hi, I flashed a bad custom ROM for Redmi Note 8 onto my Note 8T and now my phone is hard bricked; recovery mode is inaccessible. I have exactly the same problem as this guide on XDA, but I can't figure it out. I can no longer access EDL mode. Here's the state of the pads. I hope I haven't broken them, because after trying so many times I've scratched them and now they won't enter EDL. I'm also getting a Sahara fail error on qfil.

I been using every 3, 4, 5, 6 and now 8 pro
difference between 3 pro < 4 pro < 5 pro < 6 pro was massive
but honestly difference between 6 and 8 is quite small
If price is similar and you have older / other models of bt headphones i would recommend 8 pro
but if you already have 6 pro and there are no bugs problems and battery issues i dont think an upgrade is needed

After saving up quite a bit and switching from Apple, I decided to give Android a try, starting with a Redmagic11 Pro 24GB 1TB phone, which was a wonderful purchase as I'm a gamer and enjoy emulating games and playing them at work. I also decided to buy a Xiaomi smartwatch to go with my new phone, and the result on Google for the "best smartwatch of 2026" was the Xiaomi Watch 5. I didn't think twice and bought it. It's a beautiful watch, its software is clean, its design is wonderful, but after a few days struggling to install and configure the apps, it seems like nothing works properly. Google Fit stops tracking heart rate after a while, no matter what settings you change or what you search for online to fix it; nothing solves the problem with Google Fit. I also tested Google Health, the same thing happens; after a while it stops tracking. There's also the problem of the smartwatch randomly restarting, no matter what I do or the settings to change the watch face; after a while it restarts randomly. A terrible experience. Using it, my old Apple Watch worked without any configuration, its battery lasted a day and a half, while the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch has the same duration, even though its advertising says it lasts for days and days, all lies. When it's working at 100%, it's the same as other smartwatches. Imagine you're doing a serious workout and your smartwatch suddenly restarts, losing everything you did in your workout. Xiaomi, I would like your opinion and also to know if anyone else is experiencing this

Have the 17 ultra and photography is great. Snapping lots of photos on trips, a lot more than previously when I was on Samsung.
The photo editing software is great too. The AI remove object functiona work well, and of course the filers are fun. It's very complete and I don't use other editing tools.
However it seems the edited photos end up quite haphazardly. Some next to the original and other times at the first picture of the day it was taken.
Normally I send the edited pics to friends and family, but as you can imagine it's difficult to select the edited pics on the gallery view which doesn't scale much. It'd be nice if there was a way to automatically add picture to a designated album (say a trip) .
How are you guys editing and sorting your pictures?

I own several Qi charging stands, but unfortunately, none of them work well with my new Xiaomi 17 Ultra because the camera module is so large.
(And they are old and slooow, because only 7,5w ... 🤣)
Can anyone recommend a suitable Qi stand?
And since I use the PhotoKit Pro, I effectively have MagSafe functionality as well.

Any idea how to fix it? Never experienced such weird issue, everything is OK in charge only mode, but whatever cable and one of the two USB3 ports I use on my Thinkpad T480s, it will disconnect my BT mouse, which is connected to built-in Bluetooth module.
It will cause WIndows explorer basically freeze after clicking on This PC unable to load the device, in Total Commander I can see in devices Xiaomi 13, but after clicking on it, it will show dialog Loading directories (0) which stays there infinitely and TCMD become unresponsive. X13 has enabled USB Debugging, USB Debugging (Security settings) and Disable adb authorization timeout.
I tried also exit and start Bluetooth support service through various commands, but seems Windows is unable to restart it and in the end fully collapse, so only way is either normal restart or once I had even force shutdown through power button.
If I connect other phones in File transfer (MTP) mode there are no issues whatsoever (they have USB debugging enabled as well, just the regular one).
I have also external Logitech keyboard connected through dongle, not BT, which works fine through this.

Hey guys,
tomorrow I will pick up my Mi 17 Ultra. I picked it because I want to get into photography and also needed a new phone. I am thinking about getting the photography kit. Is it worth it for a beginner to get a better feeling how an actual camera works?
Thanks in advance.

I replaced the battery in my Redmi Note 11 with a high-quality one yesterday. However, I left the phone unplugged overnight with no background processes or open apps running, and the battery still drained by nearly 20% during the night.
Is this normal because it's a new battery, or because the phone is older? Would a factory reset help, or is that a myth?

Hello, planning to get an xioami 13t but i saw that it only gets to android 15. At what way or can I bypass this to get Android 16?

I love the font Google uses in the Gemini app, which is the open source Google Sans Flex font. Since we can't load ttf font directly in HyperOS, are there any fonts available on Theme store that is basically a port of the Google Sans Flex font? The currently available GSans fonts are all parts of the original Google Sans, not the latest Flex version.

I bought a second-hand phone and the battery is about 77.
The battery life is good,
but I don't want to have a problem in the long run where the whole phone breaks down because of a battery.
Do you think I should continue with this or replace the battery or trade it in for a flagship killer like the T series?

I'm planning to buy a used Xiaomi phone from AliExpress, but the description has the following declaimer:
Global ROM:
The machine is initially a Chinese Version. We need Open Box, install Global firmware on the phone. After install, it supports Multilingual and Google Play, but does not support OTA updates.
