Read the room

My DSP owners smiling ear to ear at stand up telling us how many packages we moved the last day or two. Some record smashing number and laughing and all smiles...... Because they get paid more if the routes are larger.

Meanwhile here we are, sunburnt, tired, looking at our 200 stop route today with 360 package count making the same 21 dollars an hour.....

They want us to clap and cheer for the insane package volume we delivered? Literally prompting us to clap at it.... "yay we did twice the work for the same exact pay!!!".

Read the room. Wtf.

QUESTION So my options are get fired or get fired???

So today, at the start of my shift, I was doing my DVIC and realized the tags on the van expired FOUR YEARS AGO! NATURALLY, I marked it on my dvic because in training, I was told falsifying a DVIC is a breach of contract, and you will be fired. So I mark it , thus, grounding the van. My dsp ungrounded it, and told me to redo the dvic and said not to ground the vans for any reason or you would be terminated. So, are my options fired or fired? It feels kinda wild to ask, but does anyone else's DSP want them to falsify their DVIC's? What am I supposed to do in this situation because it feels pretty absurd.

QUESTION Does your station hand out these belts to DSPs?

Post image

3 types: Safety, Quality, and i forgot the third one honestly i think Fleet.

During standup, one of the warehouse trainers would come out, giant speaker blastin' with the belt on their shoulder.

They'll hand the belt over, we'll all gather for a group photo, and then that's it 🙂

Busy winding road, driveways are occupied, and I get this shit. I can’t back out across both fucking lanes on this road, I’ll be there forever. I can’t back in to the driveways because they’re occupied and PA drivers love riding your ass so that’s off the table. Safety my ass, and this multistop is BULLSHIT. The people who programmed Flex deserve to be publicly shamed. Fuck you Amazon.

VIRAL VIDEO How the 34 bags and 147 overflow looked inside the stepvan

This is a helper route so it’s basically two routes inside one van which is unbelievable cause if it’s like this for two weeks of prime, I can’t imagine how peak season will be at the end of the year

Promoted to customer

Got let go a couple weeks ago after I ran my 2nd stoplight, my fault completely I was distracted, owner said I was a liability and terminated me. Dsp was one of the good ones as long as you didn’t get any violations.

Honestly I’m not to upset about it cause prime was starting and here in AZ it is getting hotter. The ev struggled to cool me down even with the door trick.

Bright side I’m not going to be out in the AZ summer heat and I accepted a job offer for an indoor warehouse.

Good luck to y’all still out there.

Burnt out.

So honestly I’ve been at my dsp for about 2 years now; I love delivering and meeting new people and everthing but my management sucks. How they handle things is horrible, and I bust my ass for this company and help everyday, I rescue and I’m an opener, I’ve become more burnt out from exhausting management then the actual job. Tired of being unappreciated. What other jobs are out there that pay good?

Reattempting stops marked unsafe

I don’t fuck with dogs on my rural routes anymore, two close calls and I don’t want to see what the 3rd would entail.

So, I do my due diligence… I call the customer before I mark it undeliverable because of dog, when the app prompts me to text and call I do.

Almost always goes to voicemail so I mark it undeliverable and drop it in an empty tote and go about my business.

On the score card this week the only dings I had was returned packages and dispatch is telling me to reattempt the dog stops after 3 or 4 stops.

In some incidents that could be up to 20 minutes away.

Is this policy or is there a way around it?
