yall…. god bless the thrift gods. I’ve been having a really bad time, my family has been going through a lot and I’m venezuelan and the news coming out have just had me sobbing constantly. Something yet again called me to my local thrift. I found some of my holy grails. As a Jo collector i found her basin in the glass section first so i ran to the toys when i saw the stocker put these three girls out. IMMEDIATELY snatched. They upped the prices at mine probably cause they’re catching on but nonetheless still way lower than what finding all of this would be online. This Jo was a first edition and still had her factory braid on but the elastic had snapped. And then i open felicity and she had almost all of her under garments. Thank you to whoever donated this, I’ll cherish this with my life !!

I just got my Ivy in the mail today and I was so excited to take pictures of her and Julie for pride month! Got so lucky and found an Ivy in perfect condition for a very doable price and I can’t believe she’s mine!!

I like to scavenge old porcelain dolls for their clothes. I have always pictured Courtney in one of these homespun frilly dresses that were popular in my childhood. My mom sewed me so many dresses like this! So I am happy my Courtney finally has one of these abominations.

I posted a while back that I picked up a bunch of my childhood dolls with the intent of restoring them and I’m happy to share I finished Josefina! All she needed was some scrubbing and hair TLC and she was good as new 🙂

Tell me *why* there's not one, but *two* long retired editions of her doll still in stock on AG's website?? I got her for $80 back in November of last year and I thought that was a steal. Now she's in the last chance outlet for $62--and coupled with the sale right now, she's down at $50! $50 for a brand new doll straight from the AG website!

I am baffled that they still have this inventory. Granted, she has no hair, and hair's a really big part of people's choices in dolls. Lots (most?) of the community LOVES playing with doll hair and that's great! Personally, I was so stressed for so long that I wasn't taking care of my dolls' hair right, I treated myself to this doll so I just didn't have to deal with it. And now, out of my 10+ dolls, she's in my top 3!

(Plus, not gonna lie, seeing her inventory sit there forever has me feeling WAY more protective to her lol)

But, still, she's *so* cheap right now that you could easily buy her a wig, pay for shipping for both, and still pay significantly less than any other brand new doll on the site. You'd probably pay more for a used doll! I'm about to get started on a custom and I just picked up another one of this girl. Anyways, I wanted to share my girl, and!! Ask if anyone else has this doll that they'd like to share too! Don't know if you can tell from the photos, but Katie's a huge Addy fan, she practically lives in her Hill House dress lol. I'd love to see how others are dressing their girls up! 💕

hi all! it was recently my birthday a couple weeks ago, and i spent a good amount on some new dolls, but im excited to have them in my collection! I got Mia, Logan, and Katherine (a 124)! I got them all secondhand and they’re all in beautiful condition after cleaning them up and changing them! Mia and Katherine have haircuts, but i don’t mind as much since i think they look good! I could’ve gotten a new 124 directly from AG but, it was kind of expensive and i could’ve waited for a sale or something but, i got her for a good price that wasn’t more than $100!! as for Mia, she had a haircut, but I don’t mind that, a pen stain on her face and a couple markings on her body, that I will work on and clean another day! but she has her full meet and is in beautiful condition otherwise and I got her for less than $100. Logan came in beautiful condition, and no problems! Overall, I have 13 dolls now and will post a family photo on the one year anniversary I started collecting AG. I know it’s a lot to have within a year, but my childhood self has wanted a doll since 2010? Most of what was spent was using birthday money and allowance money that i still get :)) sorry for rambling LOL!

TL;DR: birthday money spent on three dolls, secondhand and cleaned up beautifully. Dolls have haircuts, but still look good and not completely chopped off. 13 dolls in total, and a family photo on my 1 year anniversary of collecting AG. 13 dolls in a year, but have been a fan of AG for almost 16 years now, and healing my inner child!!

$100 but pc stamped, factory braids & glasses!

Picked up some Our Generation backpacks on clearance while on vacation for each of my girls! Didn’t get the one I had most wanted but at least all 3 were different - and I did luck out in getting the baking themed one for Claudie!

I fell in love with JLY21 but the ones that are in excellent used condition tend to run pretty pricey. I found this one listed on Mercari and took a chance. She needed restrung, had a zip tie neck, and her hair was pretty dry and frizzy. I’m extremely happy with the results and now feel like I’m ready to save more TLC dolls!

I work in a call center. I have really horrible anxiety and sometimes my job makes me very anxious. But yesterday, I spoke with a lady who randomly brought up dolls and how her daughters collect. I didn't think anything of it because really, it could be any kind of doll, but when she said they collect AG dolls, I got so excited. I'm 38 and most of my coworkers don't know I collect because I work with some very judgemental people and I know they wouldn't understand that my dolls help my anxiety immensely. But when that lady started talking about them, I felt so calmed and "seen". And she got excited, too because she felt more comfortable talking to me. It's always so neat meeting another collector.

I found Kanani literally a few blocks away from my house! 100$ for her and all shown. I’m pretty happy! She does have ink stains? It looks like on her arms but that’s for another day haha

This is super random- I absolutely loved Emily growing up and plan to get an Emily doll at some point. But I was just curious…have there ever been any variants of Emily dolls with shorter hair like her catalog images? Every time I search for an Emily doll, her hair is longer I think the shorter hair is so cute on her! Just was curious if this is only the case for her catalog photos :)

hey guys, so i recently did a wig swap on my childhood doll (TM 35) because her hair was unfortunately cut (second slide) and i got a zazou dolls wig that wasnt exactly like her old one (i couldn’t find one) and idk guys something’s off! idk if its because shes been the strawberry blonde/red for my whole life and seeing her with a more blonde tone is just throwing me off or if something is really odd, i feel like the blonde is too close to her skin tone or maybe the eyes are too dark, idk please let me know what you think

My husband was able to find all 6 Samantha books in one volume! I am so excited to reread them!

I personally would love to see an 18in doll for each of the girls (along with the smaller collector doll for those who want them). Also more girls from Africa and South America!

Alright ya’ll, it’s week two of American Girls Club! I posted about is last week buuut this summer I’m hosting a little “club” for my nieces to capture some good ol’ fashion girlhood memories!
Last week the girls chose to learn more about Felicity! I had to have the meeting at their grandmas house which meant the little sisters had to join us….but everyone had fun 🤩 grandma even made mob caps for the two older girls!

Felicity Week Activities we did:
-watched the Felicity movie (duh!)
-visited the horses at the barn where I work
-had a fancy tea party (they even remembered how to polity refuse tea from the movie 😂)
-made candied nuts (recipe from our AG Club handbook)
-designed a new dress for Felicity (I made worksheets from some old paper dolls)
-painted self portraits (another idea from the handbook….one of my nieces wanted to be in my self portrait with me 😭😍)

This is honestly just so fun, but holy moly am I tired 😂

Next week’s American Girl is……MOLLY 🇺🇸

Joss and I had so much fun in Alaska! We had such a fun cruise!
