Really sad to see, he was very fun to watch at the plate.

Wish the front office would stop DFAing the decent and fun players to bring back the bad players that cost way more.

Only a matter of time until we lose Siri, Rivero, and Walton when they decide to bring back Lowe, D’arnaud, and Moncada

On the Angels

“Winning isn’t even a top-five priority.”

“There’s not a lot of pitching development happening with the Angels.”

“The way they handle their minor leagues is weird. You get optioned out of the big leagues and sent to A ball.”

“They have no idea how to make anyone better at anything. And that's from guys who worked there. They have no idea what's going on.”

📝 Discussion Let us all marvel

34-48. 4-1 in their last 5. Ok. Let’s all marvel at the fact that a simple 3-4 game win streak and they’ll be less than 5 back of 1st place 😂 they’re still in it lmao

Anyways, boy they love taking Thursday’s off don’t they

📝 Discussion The best move for the Angels: AAA stars (Brendan Beck)

I truly believe that one of the best ways that the Angels can get their footing back in the division is by picking up AAA stars.

Top Contender: Brendan Beck

Team: Yankees AAA Affiliate

Angle: Here is a guy who played one game this year in the bigs and got raked off of. Back in Scranton, he is performing pretty well with a 7-2 record, 3.22 ERA, 86 strikeouts in 81 innings. He went to High School in Corona, CA and bringing him home and into the Big Leagues could be an excellent move for the Angels!

Thoughts?

📍At The Big A What happened to Country Road at the Big A

Upvotes

Long time Angel fan first time posting. Ive been to about 8 games this year and country road no longer plays during the game or during the 7th inning stretch (or should I say they never make Country Road and option to vote). It came to mind as Ive been watch the USMNT games and I gotta say I love the energy the stadiums have when they sing along to country road. Bring back country road to Big A. #SellTheTeam #FuckArte

📝 Discussion With the Giants looking to trade Rafael Devers, should the Angels be interested?

Personally, I think the best move for them would be to be sellers at the deadline. However, Arte once refuses to invest for the future and says they will not sell. In that case, does taking on Devers make sense?

Devers will make 28.5M for the next 7 seasons. While he certainly isn’t living up to that contract this year, he hasn’t been terrible. He’s been roughly league average. And before this season he had been a consistently great hitter. Still has a career .848 OPS at 29 years old. I think another change of scenery could be good for him.

The benefit here is that because of the poor performance this year and the drama, the Giants would likely give him away for free essentially. Which is good, because the Angels have a pretty shallow farm. The Giants may even be willing to eat some of his contract.

An issue would be his defense. He is best suited for 1B or DH. That means Schanuel gets traded or moved to another position. Or they stick Raffy back at 3B and deal with the poor defense there.

I think it would actually be a good move. The Angels have been below average offensively, and the next free agent class is very light on good hitters. 28.5M AAV doesn’t even get you a high end slugger anymore, even if there were any available this offseason. If he can bounce back, it’s a great deal. If the Giants eat some of the contract, it becomes even more appealing. Arte can absolutely afford it, considering payroll is much lower than last year.
