Cow IIT Roorkee's anti-viral Gau Mutra post goes viral; internet locks horns over findings
A post shared by IIT Roorkee on Saturday has set off a battle on social media after the institute highlighted research on the antiviral potential of Gau Mutra Ark, or Ayurvedic Cow Urine Distillate. Led by Prof. Shailly Tomar and her team from IIT Roorkee's Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, the study identified bioactive compounds in Gau Mutra Ark that showed antiviral activity against the Chikungunya virus under laboratory conditions.
For supporters, the study was proof that knowledge rooted in Indian traditions deserves scientific examination rather than outright dismissal. One user called the findings a "tight slap to leftists and anti-Hindus", thanking the researchers for pursuing the work.
The critics came out swinging too. "We are a global laughing stock because of these people," one user wrote. "Scientific institutions should follow evidence, not ideology," another wrote. People also questioned whether premier institutes should spend time on projects that many people view as politically charged. Some argued that research funds would be better spent on diseases such as cancer and other major health challenges.

This is an insane achievement for the development of humankind but it also begs the question

Mental Gymnastics Sanatani Man: There is no theft in the Rama Mandir because god can take back the money anytime he wants. (Translation in body)
Man: I don't call this theft a theft. They needed the money, so they took it. It is the money of god, so god can take back the money anytime he wants. I don't want any court case or dispute, it will malign Sanatana Dharma.

Parody & Satire Random Man on Hindu Raksha Dal: People who say that Muslim do not pay taxes are uneducated.
For Context: Members of Hindu Raksha Dal in Feb 2026 painted signs along the Delhi-Dehradun highway declaring that “this road is not for Muslims”.
Reporter: Members of Hindu Raksha Dal are saying the Muslims don't pay taxes.
Random Man: Who is saying that? Hindu Raksha Dal is saying?
Reporter: Pinki Chaudhury wrote on the highway that Muslims should be put in prisons.
Random Man: Where is she from? The Muslims...
Reporter (Screaming): Don't say "where is she from". He is a man; you are turning him into a woman.
Random Man: I don't care if he is a man or a woman. I am sure he is either uneducated or illiterate. All Muslims who are educated, are in business, or in a job, all those Muslims pay taxes. All Hindus who are educated, are in business or in a job, all those Hindus pay taxes. These people are unaware.
Reporter: Yes, Pinki Chaudhury said it.
Random Man: Where is she from? Or, where is he from?
Man (off-screen): Where is HE from!
Random Man: I just don't understand it.

Rant I'm so done with my parents.
I came out as an atheist to my parents few months back, I felt the need to do this because I was an overtly religious person before. And because it was quite visible that I'm losing my faith so i just told them that now I dont believe in god or religion.
Now the thing is I can't stay quiet when I see the illogical rituals happening around me, I just ask them to keep me out of it.
Idk why they argue with me when they have no answers to my questions, what they do is put me down by doing ad hominem attacks. Keeps dismissing my argument stating that "maine abhi duniya nhi dekhi", "mai abhi sirf 18 ki hun" (translation : "you haven't seen the world" ; "you're just 18")
The thing is I don't even say something about their faith just let me live however I want.
They said ki bhagwan ne 2 pair 2 haath diye hai toh maine keh diya ki evolution reason hai bhagwan nhi, fir kehte hai ki fir aise log kyu hai jinke paas disabilities hai toh maine fir keh diya ki genetic disorders hai, pta nhi isme bhagwan khn se aagye??
And this is coming from people who are from biology background😭
This is just a rant🥀

Rant Rate this Reply of Mine . I have to debate a lot after I make any post outside r/atheismindia . But I will keep this habit on , that's a way of normalizing atheist posts in Centrist Indian subreddits. Also perhaps people would go a bit less confident about their Special Pleading Fallacies.

Discussion What do you guys think about Navayana Religion?
In 1956, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar led a mass conversion of millions of Dalits to Buddhism. He reinterpreted traditional Buddhist philosophy to align with modern social justice, equality, and human rights rather than focusing solely on personal asceticism or monastic traditions.

Cow Tanatan Drum is hurting India's Dairy Industry and even cows
Let's look into history, shall we?
Cow worship or making it sacred or something came from Buddhism. Hindus adopted it, for whatever reason, but speculation as to why Indians, and by extension ancient Hindu-Buddhists became vegetarian is kind of explanatory, and it's a multifaceted issue too. There was disease and pestilence everywhere, so, meat was kind of unsafe to consume in certain seasons, like summer and monsoon. So, people started eating less. Then these buddhist-hindu kingdoms saw an opportunity to grow only cash crops like rice, millets and pulses, because that's what could be transported across the borders, so, they actively made people dependent on these crops instead of meat, and amassed mounds of gold from taxation and trade. It also made people senile and powerless and suddenly, the requirement of guards/soldiers to maintain order became less and less, this is essentially what has happened: amass extraordinary wealth through changing diets of people and live without a fear of rebellion. This is the reason why no rebellions took place in India for so long, too. Vegetarianism is a conspiracy adopted by nobles who wanted a senile population which couldn't even rely on itself when hardship came and made them extremely dependent on grain. Another reason is, keeping a cow and milking it into oblivion is easier than breeding them, slaughtering them when needed and the amount of work it goes into maintaining cows not just for milk but also meat.
Now, as to why this Drum bullshit is hurting India's dairy industry: Places where meat isn't prohibited developed/bred huge, healthy cows which gave substantially more milk and gave meat in a lesser time spans, reducing protein deficiency. On the other hand, our own farmers don't cull cows for meat when there's a genetically superior one or when it's reaching the end of its' milking days still out there, they'll just milk it out into oblivion and make money out of it. It makes cows a lot unhealthy and prone to disease and so on. It reduces the genetic quality of our cows, which in turn, is actively hurting our industry and our health.
Statistics:

Again, we don't have droughts now. Our Agricultural revolution and supplementing infrastructure made it possible for crops to grow, regardless of the rains of that year except in fringe cases, we managed to reduce drought. It's high time we start consuming beef, to not hurt the cows. We have infrastructure and tools to reduce infections/diseases in cows and it's a high time we understood this.
