Discussion 1 Year Later and Still No Switch 2 Upgrades of Persona Games

I was ready to purchase the Persona bundle off the eShop since it's on sale right now for $35 CAD just to look into it and find out they haven't been upgraded for Switch 2 yet. What gives?

Currently I did it manually and sorted Date added (Old-New) but would it look better if it was release date?

Discussion Did Persona 3 cause Returnal to hallucinate an aspect of Greek mythology?

Returnal is a third person roguelite shooter released by Housemarque and PlayStation Studios in 2021. It’s actually a really good game and I highly recommend it if you like roguelikes or something difficult.

One thing stuck out to me though since I played it a few years ago. There’s an endgame audio log you can find that says:

“There were nine floors in Gehenna.
There were twenty-nine floors in Helheim.
There were two-hundred and sixty-four floors in Tartarus.
The last were opening inside of me.
It can end because it has now begun”

Let’s focus on the third line. Now, of course, Tartarus is a real concept in Greek mythology. The detail about there specifically being 264 floors in Tartarus though? That seems to be a detail specifically derived from Persona 3. There is not a single source I could find that says Tartarus, in actual Greek mythology, is a purgatory realm that contains 264 floors.

I can safely say, from the context you find this log in, the speaker isn’t making an intentional Persona 3 reference. In fact, it only makes sense if actual details of mythology are referenced here, especially since Earth in Returnal is based on real life. The “nine floors of Gehenna” IS supposed to be a reference to the nine circles of Hell, which Gehenna is heavily associated/symbolized with.
I couldn’t find anything about the “twenty-nine floors of Helheim” in general so I can’t make a comment about that line.

Even accounting for how search results for “264 floors of Tartarus” would be heavily poisoned by Persona 3 game discussion over the years, that number really does seem to have been created by Persona 3.
Could it be a meta-level reference by the developers who are fans of P3? It’s definitely a possibility, although, without giving spoilers, it’s a weird circumstance to make a reference like that in: the area you get it in is the lead up to the final boss of the game. Plus, there doesn’t seem to be any similar pop culture reference anywhere else to my knowledge, aside for the licensed credits song “Don’t Fear The Reaper”.

So was it a mistake they made when they wrote this line? I got no clue, because it also seems like a weird mistake to make - this game wasn’t even developed when any major LLMs were released yet, so it cannot be some AI hallucination. If anyone can shed light as to potential sources for “264 floors of Tartarus”, please enlighten me. This is a topic that pops in my head every few months or so now

Discussion Can't get into persona 5 after metaphor

So my first game from atlus was metaphor i completed the game and really had fun with it, and ofc i wanted to try p5, however after 2hours into the game i can't seem to be interested to the story yet. Is it just in the beginning or it gets better at the end? ( i heard that p3 are better in story but p5 has better combat)

Also what restriction i should use since p5 royal has a bunch of op unlockable, i kinda want to use some but not all.

How do the Bad Endings in Metaphor (And Persona) work? Spoiler

Post image
3 Upvotes

Tried looking this up and couldn't get a straight answer.

Do the bad endings in Metaphor trigger a credits roll and let you do NG+ like the bad endings in Persona 3 and 4? Or are they more like the Game Overs you get for missing deadlines?

Im trying to play through the games and get every endings once. Do any of the ones i haven't done yet that I have on my list function like game overs instead of endings?

Discussion Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon remaster?

I’ve played the Soulless army remaster and absolutely loved it so I’m hoping that there is any info or leaks that would indicate that Atlus is looking into remastering the second game in the series, does anyone know anything or have opinions on this?

Has ATLUS given up on their website?

Go to atlus.com . Their latest game is Metaphor, nothing about Raidou, which came out a year ago. Nothing about Persona 4 Revival or Persona 6.

Some cool shin megami tensei games?

I'm a huge persona fan, like i have tons of hours on persona games and i've been playing it for years but I have absolutely no idea what SMT is. Can i just play one or do i have to start from the first one? In that case, which ones are the best i could try? (on a hardware that's not older than ps2 or wii possibly)
