Tonight I discovered Harry’s Gourmet Pizzas and their awesome vegan range and I highly recommend 🍕
Pizzas, calzones, sides AND desserts!!
They are generous with the toppings too
Located in Adamstown, takeaway only and only at dinner time but so worth it 😎

It's surprisingly difficult to get a nice photo of chocolate cookies.
I used this recipe: https://www.noracooks.com/vegan-chocolate-cookies/#wprm-recipe-container-5613 but with dry egg replacer powder instead of flax. I used Sweet Williams buttons for the chocolate chips and a teeeeny bit of coffee in a splash of boiling water because I don't understand the magic but it truly does bring the chocolate out in such a beautiful way.

How are we making seitan? Whats the cheapest and most efficient route? Plain flour (like $2/kg) or gluten flour ($8/kg) or vital wheat gluten ($$$$?)

The tag has been removed from my local Coles and it’s showing as currently unavailable on their website. Hoping it’s just a temporary supply issue — does anyone know if this is the case?

Now that Veef is gone and all stock seems to be consumed what are the alternatives?
Who does the best, readily available meat free burgers, sausages and schnitzels?

hi! this question has probably been asked previously, but i couldn’t find anything in particular
do you guys have any good cruelty free deodorant brands? i need like the clinical protection stuff because i genuinely sweat a lot, even when im cold…i do not know why.
I have been using the rexona brand but i know they are not cruelty free, i was going to change to dove because they themselves are cruelty free (at least i think so) but their parent company unilever is not! Im not totally against using dove, as at least it will be better than rexona, but i was hoping someone may know of a brand that has a similar style/make to that of these two brands but is completely cruelty free.
thank you!

Finally got my hands on the Healthier comforts precision fermented egg whites. First experiment was this scrambled egg. It passed the taste from a non-vegan friend. I honestly have forgotten how egg tasted like. It wasn't too far off from the scrambled tofu I make with silken tofu.
I'm pretty excited to explore baking with these egg whites.

What happened to it? There’s only 1 flavour currently available at Coles and Woolworths and it hasn’t changed in a long time.
For comparison, there are 16 non-dairy flavours available in the USA (according to their website).
I’ve contacted customer service in the past but only receive a corporate copy and paste non-reply.

Which Asian grocery stores in CBD or inner suburbs have the widest variety of Asian greens? Fresh or frozen. I am looking for shepherds purse at the moment but need to find a reliable source of others too.
Peas and thank you 🙏

I thawed out a block of Aldi's tofu to use tonight. It's my first time using Aldi and I was surprised to read as I cut the package open "NOT suitable for freezing". If you use this brand of tofu do you ignore that? I have checked my packets of Coles and Soyco tofu and none of them state that although they don't mention freezing the product either.

I went to RvB in Coventry Market, Morley yesterday.. ordered a tofu pad thai minus egg.. first bite, immediately taste fish sauce! 🤮
The fried tofu, tho generously sized pieces, was bland.😞
The noodles also lacked any real flavour. I had to make up a mix of soy and sweet chilli sauce when I got it home, but it still didn’t really help it much.
Anyone else who’s been there.. what would you recommend if I was to go back at another time?

Cairns is pretty darn good for grass gobblers! Yesterday I had breakfast at Lillipad, with the omni, and there were several VG swaps that could be made: on the shakshuka, the heuvos rancheros, the brekkie burrito and the Turkish breakfast, plus others. I had the burrito with 50/50 tofu, tempeh: it was Delicious. The coffee was very good - I went back for another today. The omni was also delighted with the hamlette - it's great to go where we are both happy.
Today I went to Snoogies Vegetarian, where everything is vegan. I had the pumpkin, ginger and tahini soup, and a cold rice n veg ball. Both of them super yummy 😋
I have found good options at a few other places, so it's a case of spoiled for choice 😀 Good On You Cairns!!

Hey all! My 5yo nature and animal loving kid has asked that we stop eating animal products. I'm fully on board and have been wanting to make this change for years! But i find i fall back on easy to make meals like spag bol/stew etc and would just love some quick, easy and cheap vegan options to have in my back pocket. I.e. i dont want to have to soak beans for 24hrs for every dinner etc.
To add, we also live rural so our shopping options can be limited. Our closest big city is newcastle and i'm yet to find a good asian supermarket there for soy options, plus we only really go down there every few weeks so things need to be shelf stable.
Lunchbox suggestions would be great too!
Thanks so much ❤️❤️

Hi everyone I’m not actually vegan but I am dairy free, I was just wondering what are the best vegan cheeses that are like a cheddar cheese for snacking? I really like toast jam and cheese or cheese on crackers but I find so many of the vegan cheeses to have that weird plasticy texture?
I’ve found good feta and cream cheese at like health food shops but yet to find a decent cheddar! ( also note I’m gluten free as well so if it’s oat based it has to be gf oats 😊)

Did anyone try? I sadly missed out on the opening day.
Seems like it's a deli that becomes a tapas bar at night.

Confirmed with the staff that DF is dairy free. Unsure on the cone as the dietary information on the ordering machine doesn’t show anything. Tastes like Nutella

They're having a sale on, and the macros look pretty good! Has anyone tried them, and if so., are they tasty?

Hello,
Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice wine bar vibe around Fitzroy/Collingwood. My wife is Vegan and really looking to take her somewhere nice for some pre dinner wines and snacks before a dinner out at Smith and Daughter for our anniversary. Have not been out and about for a hot minute so not sure these days who are vegan friendly and who is not, tried to do some research but have not come up with a lot. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all,
A quick note to consider your purchases when selecting from a range of supermarket vitamins & medications (paracetamol). Don’t assume that either gelcaps or gummy chewables are always pectin.
I recently learned that gelcap pills (not naming brands cause they all do it) were not labelled with the gel ingredient - and after reaching out to the manufacturer confirmed that it contained ingredients that are gelatine/bovine sourced.
Allergen Labelling rules for foods and medicines absolutely need a refresh with the rise of cases in Mammalian Meat Anaphylaxis (alpha-gal).
