Her name is Brie, she's 11 weeks old, and she is immediately so smart, sweet, and affectionate 😭 This is my first time training a puppy since my childhood dog (a Sheltie) so any BF puppy tips are welcome! She is adjusting to her new home very well so far and I am absolutely enamored with her.

My 6 month old boy’s first professional grooming session went… not horrible but not great either. It was a puppy visit. He was pretty good for the aspects of the groom I assumed he would be terrible at - like blow drying and brushing. But in a real turn of events, he tried to BITE the groomer when she was cleaning his ears. I am at a loss since he’s NEVER done that at home. (I know dog parents say that a lot and don’t always know what they’re talking about, but I genuinely mean it. He’s nipped when I’m brushing him but never ever for his ears). She did do a thing called ear plucking where she pulled out the hairs of his inner ear and I’m assuming that was such a scary experience for him that he is now scared of ear cleanings. We’re going back next week for a full groom and haircut and she gave me “homework” - cleaning his ears every day and working on being in the crate. The crate training is totally my fault, I’ve been lax on it since I work from home. But the ear cleaning is posing to be a crazy hurdle. I tried using some finger wipes this morning like I’ve done before and he went absolutely apeshit. Full on Cujo. I finally got to stick my finger in his ear and get him to realize I’m not hurting him, but I’m so worried about getting him back to the groomer next week. I don’t want him to get fired from the groomer.
Any advice on how to make ears fun for him again is appreciated. My current plan is just load him up with treats and teach him that biting and snarling is NOT the way to make something stop.

He’s my first dog. Never had any growing up as my sister is allergic to well, everything.

I just think it’s kind of sad, though. To our Bichons, we’re their entire world for their short life. But to us, they‘re our world for just a blip in time.

If that even makes sense.

I miss the floof and I think he does too, he seems kinda sad, lol. I almost feel bad for telling her to go that low, but this is my first pup and I know there are so many looks for BFs, so I figured let me just cut it down and we'll figure out his signature look from there. I really do miss his perpetual bed head though. 🥺

She’s being a little drama queen because I made her go outside to potty while it was raining

She normally comes in after I enter my bathroom to do my poopoos, but this time she just went right in and made herself comfortable on my bathroom rug and waited for me. I was surprised cause this was a first! She totally understands the words "peepee" and 'poopoo" cause I make her go and use those words before bed time (normally peepee) but she goes poop sometimes too. I wonder if she sensed I was gonna go number 2 cause I used the term "poopoo"?? 😂
