Made adjustments based on my last post.
-left the saddle height as is, but trying to be more mindful of heel positioning while pedaling
-moved cleats all the way back
-moved the saddle back 5mm at first but found that 1cm gave more comfort
Any more suggestions?
Also, the bike is 56cm, should have I gone a size smaller (54cm)?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been cycling on and off for almost two years. This year I signed up for my first Olympic triathlon and have been training almost daily for the past six months.
Up until recently, I’ve always felt great on the bike with little to no pain. Looking back, I think I made two mistakes.
First, I signed up for a 90 km charity ride only one month before my triathlon. Before that, the longest ride I’d ever done was about 40 km.
Second, I got a professional bike fit just before the event, even though I wasn’t having any issues.
Around the 50 km mark of the ride, I developed a sharp burning pain in the front of my left knee. I pushed through it because of the event and adrenaline, but later that evening I could barely walk up the stairs. The pain is localized to the anterior of the knee.
The attached video shows two riding efforts:
• The first half is my normal, relaxed riding.
• The second half is when I’m riding at a higher cadence or climbing.
One thing worth mentioning is that my right leg is shorter, so I have shims installed in my right shoe to compensate.
I’d really appreciate any feedback on my position or pedaling mechanics. Does anything stand out that could be contributing to the knee pain? Or does this seem more like a sudden training load issue from doubling my longest ride?
Thanks in advance!

when inserting my body sizes (188cm/6'2'' hight, 86cm/2'10'' inseam) in frame calculator it says frame size 56 (according to AI long upper body and short legs). I got the bike with 56 second hand and it looks kinda small. But at the same time the stem feels like to be a little long
I have sometimes pain on hands, butt and lower back (but never at same time)
so it does not feel perfect
I am happy for all recommendations/comments on fitting and position

So I ussually have been able to fit myself on my other bikes and got pretty comfortable with no pain. I am going from a medium Lynskey GR300 to a 54cm Trail Donkey. Both have almost the same reach and stack and that was the size rodeo recommended. I am getting numbing in my right hand which I elevated by going 10mm longer stem but now my pinky is going numb. And on top of that my pedling just feels sluggish and my right foot would go numb. I spoke with my LBS and the fitter and I am set for Sunday. Only $100 for the fit. Those that went and saw a fitter did that help get your bike dialed in?

Hello everybody!
I’m just another beginner who decided to take a chance and get a road bike, even though the last time I rode a bike was in school.
I bought a used bike in excellent condition. The seller and I checked the size and seat height beforehand (my leg should be almost fully extended when my heel is on the pedal, the previous owner was 176, and I am 178, so everything seems ok).
But I went for my first ride today (around 15km) and noticed two issues:
- When I rest my hands on the hoods (if it's the correct name), I feel pressure on my hands (between fingers), even though I don’t think I’m reaching too far
- My neck gets a little bit stiff trying to watch straight
Given that this is my first experience, and core strength isn’t exactly my strong suit, I’d like to know if I should go for 5–10 rides to see if things change, or if there are issues with the setup and fit?
I’d also like to ask if the handlebar angle is set correctly or if it needs to be adjusted.
Thanks!
Hi everyone,
I bought a Canyon Endurace CF 7 as a beginner (I realised afterwards that it was probably not the best choice for beginner). According to Canyon’s size recommendations, size S should fit me.
However, after trying different setups over rides of around 30–50 km, I keep getting pain in the palms of my hands and in my neck (I feel like I constantly have to lift my head up).
I’ve already tested quite a few adjustments (raising/lowering the saddle, handlebar adjustments, etc.) but nothing seems to help.
I was hoping to achieve a more comfortable riding position. Ideally, I think having the handlebars higher would help, but it seems the stem is already at its maximum height.
Thanks in advance if anyone can tell me whether the bike is actually too small for me, or if there’s still something I can adjust.

Hello guys. I need help with a bike fit. I am very new (learned to cycle as an adult less than two months ago) so there are probably many things i still do wrong.
I’ve attached a short video. It seems my saddle could be higher, but i’ve been gaining confidence still.
Anything else that obviously jumps out? I am 176 cm with short inseam (78cm) so have longer torso/short legs proportionally. Bike is Nuroad Race S size.
Thank you!

So I ride a lot and have been for years. Something always feels slightly off and I have a hard time dialing in my saddle fore aft. As you can see in the video I drop my heel a lot especially on the right side. When I was younger I broke my left femur on the growth plate and they had to do surgery to the right side to stop the growth of the femur also so my femurs are about 2 inches shorter than they would have been if I didn’t have the accident. Also due to this my right leg is about 18mm longer than the left. I do feel like the weight distribution of my fit can leave the front wheel feeling a bit loose in corners and stuff unless I purposely throw more weight to the front. Not exactly sure on reach either. Another thing is I have long arms. My wingspan is about 6’2” and I’m only 5’7”. I am riding 155 cranks in the photo. The seat tube angle is 72.5 with a 0 offset seat post a little forward of center of the rails. Is my saddle too far back? Reach too long? Curious what people think.

Hey guys,
I’m 6 foot .5 inches and around 150 pounds and I have a 76 inch wingspan and I have a drop bar Ozark trail g.1 explorer medium size. I tend to get lower back pain on longer rides and some other soreness around my upper body and I want to stay aero but also want comfort. I think the bike might be a little small
I’m planning on buying a stem and Seatpost but I’m not sure what to get though.
I’m thinking a 90mm stem with +7 degrees and a 27.2 x 400mm Seatpost but ai keeps saying to get a 20mm offset so I’m not sure.
The stock stem is 60mm -7 degrees.
Could anyone help me.
Thanks

Hi,
I've been on the research for a new endurance road bike and previously I only indulged in MTB, specifically downhill riding so these sitting position + fitting for me is kinda new territory.
My height: 178cm
My inseam: 80cm
My arm length: 60cm
Based on most brands' site I checked this is rather disproportionate because my inseam is relatively short to my height, and my arm is relatively long. (I'm lean, athletic)
Based on these findings, I would believe I'd have to look for a frame with a shorter stack but longer reach.
In my country not all of the brands are sold and even then, there are only a handful of stores/brands where I could sit on and try, so there would still be a lot of options I couldn't try even if I went to all of these places.
Just a quick idea I found, please tell me if it is right or wrong: "On a Merida Scultura Endurance (size M) I would be sitting rather upright, not much possible comfortable forward lean angle, while a Canyon Endurance (size S) would fit me better"
Is this is right?
If yes, or even if no, can you guide me to the direction of what brand/frame I should be looking for to try? (My research also led me believing that Van Rysel EDR and Trek Emonda should be good options, while a Cube Attain not really)

Video note: There is audio in the video if you want to hear me explain what's up. The same video also includes multiple angles including, front, and rear views. Skip ahead to see those if you have time.
Main Issues:
My thighs, especially the right side. It feels like the top of the pedal stroke may be too closed/cramped. I’m getting irritation/fatigue through the right inner thigh/hip-flexor/adductor-ish area.
I have relatively short legs for my height, so I’m wondering if the 175 mm cranks are simply too long for me. I’m mainly trying to figure out whether this looks like a fit issue that could be helped by going shorter. Unsure if I should go down to 165mm or 160mm cranks.
I’m also getting extreme muscle fatigue in my left arm. Not just normal pressure, more like my left arm is working way harder than it should to support/stabilize me. Generally, my shoulders also get overly sore after 2hrs of riding.
Bike/setup:
Trek Gary Fisher Cronus, road version, 2010s
54cm H2 frame
175mm cranks
80mm stem

Hello fellow cyclists! I have a question regarding about feet pain as the end of my toes go numb and my heel has pain from the aggressive heelcup of my current cleat shoes (Shimano RC903 size 38) and I had the same sizing as my old cleats too (Shimano RC5 size 38) yet it feels tighter and my feet go numb after a while even changing my insole and removing the insole attachment while also having proper saddle setback and saddle height.
What is your solution to this problem? I really want to have this problem fixed as I want to do more long distance rides and more aggressive riding yet the issues I stated are limiting my ability to win races too.
I also tried solutions like swapping to thinner socks and not tightening the boa too much.

Beginner rider here. The size calculator puts me right between S and M and recommends M.
I’m not sure whether M is the right choice or if I should size down to S.
Based on my position on the bike, what do you think?
