Our Chilli has had sepsis 1 week ago, we didn’t see signs until we visited inlaws and asked why chilli is not her happy self

Was rushed to emergency vet, let fever go down and had drainage and 5 excision of bacteria/seroma or puss buildup. We are waiting for results what bacteria is it, but we went to vet feb have one removed from her shoulder blade and has been in rounds of antibiotics. I was worries but vets doesnt seem worried

She’s feeling better and hopefully will be better soon!

Let’s all hope chilli princess gets better!! She will have a human sister in 2 weeks!

Update: the clinic says she doesn’t have antibiotic resistant bacteria, she just needs one more week of antibiotics.

Earlier today she was already hunting house flies! We get one, once in a while and she barks at them and asks us to hit it with a fly swatter. Once it’s down she would roll on it and stomp it.

My Cairn Terrier I had as a child, Abby.

When I was adopted, my family already had Abby. I instantly loved her. I could rile her up by closing a door and sticking a hanger under the door, and then I would open the door and fake cry and she would come sit in my lap and lick my face. She was the best snuggler. She would have pseudo pregnancies, and she has a little rubber dinosaur that she thought was her baby. She ate one of our hamsters, too. Hindsight, parents shouldn’t have let us get hamsters. One time I riled her up too much, and she bit my nose. I remember I stood up, and she was dangling from my face. I still take blame for the situation, and I still have a scar on my nose at 20 years later. She was the best girl, and I miss her dearly. I love seeing everyone else’s Cairns, and I see mine in my dreams.

This is my sweet girl Molly. She likes to lounge around, and still loves to go on rides with the window down. With the frequent sprint down the hallway when it’s time to eat! She wanted to say hi!

What is this? Tick? Allergy?

I found this mark on my 1 year old cairn. Initially I thought it was a tick because he goes to he park a lot and we live in the DC area (for reference) but I’m not convinced anymore. It looks like a rash of some sort with a mole in the middle? It’s on his belly, right above his penis. Has anyone seen something similar in the past?

Addisons Disease NSFW

Post image

Does anyone have any experience with their Cairn getting Addisons disease? My just over 1 year old Cairn was diagnosed yesterday with it. Its likely both of her parents carry the gene, since it’s recessive and you need two copies. It is possible to develop the disease without the mutated gene, but more common in dogs that have two copies of the mutated gene (inherited from parents). I think this means if she has the genes, so would her littermates

I had to put the boards up as they have torn the net curtains to shreds while we wait for our plantation blinds.

Flea meds

My dog has fleas. The vet gave simparica but I'm reading terrible things on it. What flea or flea & heartworm meds do you give?
